Domicile article on leaving New York

I just ran across an interesting article in Forbes magazine that addressed changing your domicile from New York (or NJ or Mass) to elsewhere.  It pretty much recaps what's been covered in Escapees magazine articles, but the advice is general enough that it could be useful for folks not leaving those states, too.  Here's the link:

States are generally very aggressive with regard to their share of your retirement income. Very important to understand all the requirements and implications with regard to residency. The big thing many seem to try to avoid is income tax. But 1/2 of  all retirees are below the filing requirement (no federal or state tax liability). Healthcare availability, extent and quality of social services, quality of life, cleanliness of environment, etc are more important to some than simply looking at a tax rate.
