eddie1261
Is there a place on the forums where the acronyms are defined? I just read a handful of posts that were 35% acronyms and even in context I couldn't figure some of them out. HDT? Is that Henry David Thoreau? MDT? Microsoft Development Toolkit? Mountain Daylight Time? Multi Discipline Training? I know y newbie is showing here, but some of them make no sense to a newbie. I mean, I'm a fairly smart guy and it took me a week to figure out that TT was travel trailer.

Solo18
I also am often confused by acronyms. We should remember that new members especially do not always know what all these letters mean.
kb0zke
Eddie, Google is (sometimes) your friend. Type in "HDT and RV" (leave out the quotation marks) and you will get relevant hits. Try that with whatever other acronyms you are wondering about. People are ALWAYS asking me "HOW did you get to be so damned funny?" It was AFTER Googling that I asked about HDT. HDT returns 3 pages of them, and none of them are Heavy Duty Truck. My brain, being that this is an RV place, immediately assigned "trailer" to the T, which is WAY wrong. Eventually I kind of guessed it, but some are not so obvious. It would really help. I asked because on the FJ Cruiser Forums (what I traded in to buy the RV) that is a whole thread of its own. Being an offroading vehicle, those suspension pieces all seem to have a name that makes no sense to a novice. And that was me. In 18 months that FJ Cruiser of mine never left the paved roads. A real Mall Crawler. In fact I had a grill badge that said "Mall Rated".

bobsallyh
Barb, yes indeed, Beer. We aren't the vino' s that just sip. And Pete and Pat, not just for happy hours, beer drinkers are in for the "long haul". Of course this appreciation of beer and the clientele that consume it could be a factor of us staying in lower end parks.
Yarome
Just to set the record straight on 2 small matters. There is no such thing as a "HWH" (hot water heater). It's just a "WH". Have you ever heard of a "CWH"?? (cold water heater). That's kind of like saying you would like some cold ice in your beverage. And 2... real RVers drink 'sippin juice. Beer is for bar-b-ques and rig maintanence. Wine... you only drink to be polite to the hostess or DW.

Either I am too new to the RV life, or some of those must come from the WOT (world of text) which I'm kind of a novice in. And there are some of us who do prefer beer but some of us also participate with both beer and wine. Just depends on the occasion and the choice of brew that has been offered. We visit local breweries and wineries as well. And don't tell anyone, but we have even been known to have a "mixed drink" from time to time or to put something special into our coffee! I guess I was not aware that being a fulltimer or RV'er required or restricted what sort of libations I consume! Good travelin !...............KirkFull-time 11+ years......
