RV Ports, Ramadas, Awnings

Recommended Posts

Want to build one and we will be the first in our summer community so need to show ideas to the HOA of some in other RV Parks.

If you have stayed in a RV park that has Awnings over RV's would love the URL if possible.

If you have built one for your RV would love to hear comments and suggestions for building ie height, length, materials, drainage, wind, rain, snow etc.  I know each city/county/state has different building codes but would like to hear all ideas.

Thank you.

I don't know if this will help but go to Craig's List, Yuma, AZ. and two different headings. Vacation Rentals and Real Estate for Sale. There are usually pictures under those two headings that at least you could see some different ideas. I'm not sure how many may be listed now but come Sept. pictures will pick up speed. There won't really be much in parks as they regulate what can be done. But on private property in the Foothills these structures are very popular.

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions.

We found a contractor and are working with the HOA to start our deck and awning.  There are no RV ports in this park, we would be the first one if we can get the architectural committee to approve.  Have not found explanation yet for their not being approved in the past but have neighbors interested in building one for their RV so will research further.

Thanks again, safe travels.

There is one like the above link that also has another roof over the RV in the same style, but not connected

You can not build any more coverings in this park anymore.  Any of them done at this point are grandfathered in.

  • 11 months later...

Update.  Being the first of its kind in our RV park we had to get approval from the HOA so it took awhile but finally hammered the last nail last month. Have had much interest by other RV'ers in the park to build one of their own. The roof is composed of insulated roofing panels (IRP's)   Love the shade and sound insulation, no steps from fiver to the deck lots of storage under the deck.  Great protection for the fiver from the elements and keeps RV cooler so less AC costs but we are at 6100 feet so don't use AC that often anyway. We had a great view of the parks July 4th golf cart parade. When the weather cools off we just hook up and go.

Thanks again for all your suggestions,

Safe Travels
