LOL, Phil, Georgia actually called it a non commercial CDL. Take a look at the page linked below from the Georgia Department of drivers services and scroll down to the class "E" and class "F" license and see how they defined it (even now). My old license actually read out "Non Commercial class A CDL". That changed a few years ago because of issues like this thread (and I think the feds had something to say also) and made them class E or class F license.

GH, I'll take your word for what your old DL said but what's there now is just like Texas. It says formerly "Non commercial Class A".
