Honey wagon

Hello I work at a county park, and am wanting to start a honey wagon business but I am stuck on the coat I should charge.

What have you paid in the past to have some one else dump your tanks for you.

If the service was avaliable would you use it if there was no full hook up spots

Thank you for your time and answers!!!

$25 for 3 pulls, tanks.

I assume that you mean 3+ tanks? Are there RVs that have more than 3 waste water tanks? I have never had more than 2 but do know that some fifth wheel trailers have 2 gray water tanks. I also suspect that few people would pay $25 just to save a trip to the dump station, or at least I would not under normal circumstances. A great deal would depend upon how long most people stay in the park since most RVs have enough waste tank capacity to last a week or more if used conservatively. It would seem to me that one would need a very large RV park to have enough business to make this pay, or you would need more than one park to service.

I was just wondering really how much you would be willing to pay or that a price that would be worth paying so you wouldn't have to deal with it

Aslo size would not affect the price, if you had 4 tanks all would get emptied complete or if you had 1.

Would it be worth it to you to pay some one 20 bucks or 15 bucks just so you wouldn't have to deal with dumping it out?

Thanks again for the reply!!  really appreciate it !!!!

In the Quartzsite area there is an RV Proctologist. You might see if they have a website with prices. Being in a desert area where many people stay long term you might be able to get a sense of their demand.

Yes Kirk, 3 tanks. I have a fifth wheel and it is a lot of work to hook it up and frag it over to dump it. Even more so if we are here for 3-4 weeks. $25 is well spent for them to pump me out once a week. We have a macerator toilet so it uses more water.

I'm sure that for some people it would be worth that, but I'm not sure how to determine how many people would do so. Is there a time limit on how long a visitor can stay in the park and is it located in an area with high RV populations?  Does the park have a dump station? You may want to start a poll asking about the probability of people paying at several different prices. There is a tab to start a poll when you open a new topic.

One park I stay at fairly frequently offers a one time pump out when you check in for an additional $5.  I believe if you purchase the pump out after you check in it is $7.

We had full hookups in a park on a flood plain. When we had to move to higher ground, we had only electric and water. The honey wagon came around once a week. It was a horrible experience. I did not like either the visual nor olfactory results of being visited by the honey wagon but it was a necessity so we did it. They did not charge us for the service though since we had paid for full hookups. Maybe you can find a way to lessen the side effects of your service?
