Photos: What have you done to the interior of your RV to make it "Home"

I really love to see pictures of what people have done with the interior of their RVs when it comes down to making it home-like and more unique. So what have you done and why did you do it...and lots of pictures please :-)

I am a ren faire/ medieval/ Viking-era "junkie" so I wanted to turn my fifth wheel into a little piece of a Viking-style home complete with hides, swords, axes, horns etc. The upside of the furs is that they add insulation to the thin walls. I removed the futon sofa and dinette set to replace them with something more in keeping with the style I wanted. I'm still working on a few things, but so far I am extremely happy with it:

I can't apparently include my pictures in the thread so hoping the Flikr link works.

Wow! I was going to show you my fancy faucet replacements, but they would pale in comparison to your decor!

Wow! That's amazing!

Thank you both. Any pictures to share?

What I personally have done inside of our RV is mostly things that don't make for good pictures, such as shelves and dividers in the cabinets, rebuilding the support system for the clothes rod in the wardrobe, a valance for one window, and things of that nature. But Pam has recovered all of the valances and the new one with totally different "quilted" materials and a host of other things to improve the appearance and to make it more like home.

Great idea with the curtains. My original thought with the fleece was mostly for insulation. I have those really crappy Venetian blinds which need to be replaced, but they currently function and not a priority. I do like the idea of day shades though since with the air pockets they also add some insulating ability.

Terrific interior, and the decor can be used in self defense if you have proficiency with bladed weapons. I doubt any state would give issue but Canada crossings may be interesting. I have no idea of their knife rules.

My interior changing included ripping out a booth in our first rig and making/installing a custom Formica counter with chairs that added half again the space in the kitchen, and allowed a custom computer center for the giant all in on printer, fax, phone, etc. which was a 500 dollar unit for the time in 1990s when we started Fulltiming. I made the whole thing while parked on the family property getting the rig ready for a few months for our first year out.

Thanks, BTW, I meant to try Flickr but your post got me going and my new account is set up. I had just gone to the $.99 a month for no ads in Photobucket which sped it up a lot. However Photobucket has only 2GB in the $.99 a month, Flickr is 1TB free if I understand it correctly! 500 times the storage free on PB and with no ads!

I just tested the BBC code here and it worked as well or better than Photobucket. Looks like they are getting the 99 cents a month for a few months as I start using Flickr and upload the 4 GB of Photos I keep on my main system all the time for ease of use.

Here is the view of the custom counter. Pardon the poor image quality but I used one of the first ever digital cameras to take it which cost $150 on clearance in the BX down from $550 at the BX and it had horrible resolution, but it worked. .3 megapixel. IT used the old laptop PCMCIA slot. Here is a write up. http://www.nikonweb.com/coolpix100/ I kept mine until it died after ten years about ten years ago. That laptop was a Windows 98 system that I upgraded to a 98SE machine. It had a 2GB hard drive and took only 3 or 4 minutes to boot.

All my software and other computer stuff was in the little cabinet. The old booth left little room. This was more comfortable in the kitchen with the three chairs, and I would use one at the laptop desk I made. I just realized I have no idea what the black cable showing was for, but once complete no wires were visible.

I reused the paneling from the booth as well as the door from the under booth seat storage which originally opened sideways.

Dune,

To embed the pictures from Flickr is easy. Just double click the picture to view it on its photo page, then click on the share arrow bottom right, a new box appears with options across the top. Only there will you get the option to select BBC code from the top of that dialog box. Just click on it and copy paste the BBC code here. I used the default medium for the above pic from Flickr.
