Hwy 98 Mobile,AL to Lufkin, TX

Do you mean Hwy 90 along the shoreline? If so, it's good thru MS for any size rig. It is 45 mph which we don't mind as we like to take life a little slower and as they say - smell the roses. I'd go thru the Mobile tunnel on I-10 (bigger rig friendly) and then drop down to 90.

The parts of the route that we have traveled are good but like others have said, watch out for the speed limits in all the small towns along the way...we also hate driving the interstates and always try to take routes such as this. We love stopping at the small towns and just looking at all the old "downtown" buildings. We have discovered some real gems that we would have never seen if we had been cruising the interstates. Good luck on your travels and be sure to report back on that route and share any unusual or pretty sights along the way.

As it was shared! WATCH the SPEED ZONES! Many small towns make a living off the lead foot drivers. They really like out of state plates.

It was fine. Encountered a couple low bridges which we didn't know about but that is on us for not checking the route. Road seemed fine to us. Reasonably scenic, just chugged along at our own pace. Did not find that speed was an issue.

Sorry about not getting back.
