While we were setting up in Stillwater, OK in January we received an offer on our place in SW MO. That deal fell through because the appraiser ignored the house (!). He appraised the land, decks, garage, sheds, but not the house. No, he didn't get paid for it.

As we were leaving Stillwater in May we received another offer on the place. Closing was to be in July. It finally closed yesterday. There are still a few loose ends, but for all practical purposes it is done.

The "bad" part was for the buyers. School started a couple of weeks ago, and they had hoped to be in the house for the first day of school. Since they weren't coming far, I'm guessing that they simply drove up each day. The two school Districts are both small enough that they would understand what was going on. I taught in their new District, and Jo Ann was a substitute teacher in both, so we know the administrators well.

Congratulations on selling the house and going full time. Your first year will be a learning curve and getting settled into the lifestyle. Life only gets better as the years roll by. Take your time and don't treat it like a vacation where you have to go, go, go just to get it all in. Now enjoy the journey just as much as the destination.
