We also have a 2005 780 with an Ultrashift, which has 570k miles. Absolutely no problems with it in 3 1/2 years.

Our 2005 Freightliner has an Ultrashift. The newer ones will have some additional features I think like hill start assist and skip shifting which ours does not have. The issue we have with ours is using R2. We have tried it twice now and both times, even though the truck would move fine, when we tried to put in neutral it would not go and we got an error on the dash display. We had to shut the truck off and pray we could reset it which we were able to. Now we just use R1 which seems to work just fine.
