Zulu
Just updated my DISH TV of RVs blog to include details of my 3 Hopper RV system. To me what might be of interest in this update is the equipment and wiring necessary to move from a 1 or 2 Hopper system to a 3 Hopper network. This experience has made me envious of DirecTV SWM technology in which a single coax from a SWM dish can supply multiple receivers. Mark and Dale Bruss
Yes the 8 channel SWIM technology would be nice. It is just that Dish was years ahead in using DPP dual channel technology and now has a massive installed base of equipment equipment, and Dish does not like to obsolete existing equipment as fast as DirecTV does. But using MOCA technology on the receiver side of the SOLOs and DUALs in Hopper systems is providing a fairly good transition of using existing dishes and advanced multi-channel receiver and display devices. Jack Mayer
Why not just do wireless. The DTV wireless receivers work well. I'm sure Dish has something similar??? Mark and Dale Bruss
At this moment, Dish has the provisions for one wireless Joey (remote terminal). I believe Zulu's issue is the need to replicate the satellite signal from the dish to the SOLO/DUAL multiplexors. Three cables from the dish need to be replicated into more cables for additional SOLO/DUAL. The DirecTV SLIM allows 8 devices on the cable, the dish being one of them.
