RV_
Why didn't they have these when I was a kid?? This it a series of ten pictures and a few sentences showing some great projects for the 5-16 year old future scientists in our families. OK, some of us adults might want them too, but not me! I have grandkids and grand nieces and nephews as my excuse. Gets them to come over for fun too! http://www.techrepublic.com/pictures/photos-10-stem-projects-to-do-with-your-kids-on-summer-break/1/ Not the project type? Send them as gifts to them. sandsys
Another thing you can do is go to museum websites and read the teacher materials for before/after visiting the museum. My favorite so far is the pirate museum exercise where you figure out your share of the booty using fractions. You could do it visually by using various size/color Lego blocks to represent diamonds, rubies, gold, etc. Linda Sand Blog: http://sandcastle.sandsys.org/ Former Rigs: Liesure Travel van, Winnebago View 24H, Winnebago Journey 34Y, Sportsmobile Sprinter conversion van
