A KIND OF POLE QUESTION TO FULL TIMERS ONLY!

Recommended Posts

If you don't mind...... (I wish there was a way to put them on a pole so it wouldn't have your name attached to it, so if you choose not to because of that or any other reason, we totally understand

I will probably get a lot of silly answers or even be told it is none of my business but I am asking this because my hubby wants to kind of know if we will will be the only ones at our age when we go full time end of 2016.....I don't want to influence so I will tell ours after this seems to have ran its course, if it runs at all, I promise and just for starters we are at least over 55.

HOPE YOU ALL WILL HELP!

We would like to know, kind of 5 questions.

1) How old are you?

2) How old is your spouse or significant other? (nothing if single)

3) If you weren't RVing right now or as long as you have been, would

you start RVing today, at your age?

4) Are you in a living in a MH, 5er, TT, etc.?

5) Are you stationary or move around from State to State?

I get where you are going with this, but a poll is purely subjective. You're never too old to full time, the rig you choose will be what YOU'RE comfortable with, and your personal travels WILL vary. :P

The very fact that you are asking seems to me that you folks are teetering on taking the plunge. Just do it! LOL No one is getting any younger, and with the computer age, any issues that may arise are quickly answered at the click of a button.

3) No, but nothing to do with age.

4) 5th wheel (39', 4 slides)

5) We are not stationary but don't move more than 3 or 4 times a year.

In case it's of any interest, we started fulltiming because Hurricane Katrina flooded our house. We spent the first few years with at least one of us having a fulltime job. We gravitated towards larger fifth wheels because we liked the living space and didn't move often. We wouldn't start fulltiming today because after almost 10 years, we feel like we'd like to move on to a different lifestyle we think would work better for us. Not that we haven't enjoyed parts of it, we have. We just both want things that aren't practical matches to full timing. It's been more of a challenge trying to exit than we thought so I think those suggesting an exit plan at the onset are wise.

Best of luck wherever the road leads!

I sent a PM to share some thoughts, but will also offer a thought here, as one who was full-time and life has taken us back to part-time again. You will never be able to do anything at a younger time than today! Transitions get more difficult as we age so take advantage of opportunities as soon as they become available and don't look back. Life is short and what you do not do today you may never have another opportunity to do.

Remember that you don't have to burn your bridges behind you.
