Been years since we went floating down a river. Sounds like a fun outing.

Linda

Floating down the canal is a very big deal here in Penticton.  The canal connects Skana and Okanagan Lakes.

Speaking of Okanagan, I thought I'd share this.  Doug got a haircut yesterday.  He chose this particular barber because of their name.  Okanoggin - get it "noggin" like head.  Creative, eh?

That reminds me of the tip to always choose the barber with the worst haircut. The others cut his.

We got our internet at the new house the day before we left for Phoenix. Got back home on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. On Wednesday (5/30) the propane company came out to bury the propane tank. The second or third swipe with the bucket he ripped out the fiber and conduit and killed our internet. Just got it fixed last night.

Went racing last weekend southeast of Dallas in Ferris, TX. Boy was it hot. The generator ran the whole time except for 3 or 4 hours each night. I didn't win but also didn't break anything either.

I'm ready to relax for a day or two. Still lots to do at the house.

Travel safe everyone.

Jeff   ☺️

Also there is a lot of tubing on the Guadalupe and Comal rivers around here.

We have a tubing group here also.  We went for the first time last weekend and had a blast.  They have it every Saturday on the Colorado river with a couple of vans leaving from the park.  After the float, they all go to breakfast in Yuma.  We had 15 floaters last week so we'll see how it goes this Saturday.   Steve

Sandie & Jim, if Jim likes hardware stores, have him check out McFadden-Dale at 5580 S. Decatur Blvd. #114. The website isn't worth a dip but the actual store sure is!

We are in Amarillo, Tx heading toward Colorado. Slowly like normal. While we still have the class map, it would be nice if everyone could update their locations.  How can I sneak up on you if I don't know where you are? HaHa  Happy traveling to all.

We are both playing a lot more now!  Still can't get the fool thing to go in the right direction all the time.  I remember what you said to the ball when it didn't go right for you and have been trying that to see if it will help.

That made me laugh even though I don't know what was said. I just know the people involved.

Hey out there.  Have we given up posting on the Forum?

It's nice to come here and see what everyone is up to.  Yeah, we have blogs and most of us have Facebook but still.  This is our own, private space so let's use it once in a while.

We are fine.  We are still in Penticton BC and we haven't burnt up yet.  If fact, today is the clearest day in a month.

We are negotiating on a new rental, a beautiful 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house in the city.  We had hoped to score another Naramata home but it's difficult.  Many are short term (we do not want to have to move again) and many others are furnished.  We won't have this fabulous view of the lake in the city home but we are going to keep our new friends.

We still plan to travel south after Christmas and hope that we can all get together.

I think they have given up on the forum. Most stay in contact with Facebook and we don't do Facebook.  Since we quit full timing Tina has closed our blog.

We have landscapers working in our yard as I type. Building a wall to hold back a hill and hauling dirt to the back yard for grass. Lots going on outside. Still need a lot of furniture for the house.

Good luck on your negotiations.

We might be in Arizona this winter too for a little bit.

Travel safe everyone

I'm still here. But we are no longer on the road so it's hard to find things to say. Except to wish all of you who are still traveling to have a wonderful time doing so.

We just pulled into American Falls, Idaho at a nice park. Be here for one night as they are booked for the weekend.  We just left Bear Lake, Utah area after 6 days.  The annual Raspberry festival started today.  We went thru the vendors quickly and then left.  Supposed to be over 200,000 people there for the festival. We will be in Arizona this winter and hope to see everyone.

I keep checking to see if anybody has posted here. But with so many of us "settling" down for longer periods, it's hard to have much to say. Jim and I are at Canyon Ferry until the end of August. Then we'll be headed east to Virginia. Back to Arizona some time in November. Jim is catching lots of walleye and having a great time.

I think Jeff is right.  FB has kind of taken over and keeping track of folks is fairly easy there.  We've been pretty much glued to Washington state this summer taking care of business ... doctors, kids, grandkids, etc.  However, I must admit my feet are starting to itch.  May be heading to the beach this week (perhaps?).  Hoping to do some cemetery hopping in Ohio next month and then Texas with cousins ( and Justin) in October.  Probably won't head south until end of October or first of November, probably.  That's my update.

We are still here and checking in. Because we just attended one event with the group I guess we still feel a bit like outsiders even though we formed a couple lasting friendships from it.

We are still on the move about every week after leaving Arizona in March. We are now in Washington and will be sliding into Idaho in a week. Not sure from there yet. We have reservations in Arizona again starting in November so that's the only real plan so far.

We took a day trip on Friday to Port Aransas with the pup. We sat on the beach for an hour or so. The dog loves the beach but not the water. LOL! She had to stay on her leash and couldn't chase sea gull shadows. It was kind of driving her nuts. We had some great BBQ sandwiches at a place called MacDaddy's. Tina had brisket and I had a Dagwood. The Dagwood had sliced brisket, sausage and pork with pepper jack cheese. OMG!!!

Dave if you like trains Sandpoint, ID. is a place to go. We stayed at the county fair grounds.

Jerry, we've stayed at the lodges in Lewiston and Coeur D Alene. Beautiful view of the Snake River at the Lewiston lodge but there were stickers in the camping area. It didn't seem to get much use. Coeur D Alene  is a very nice and well used camping lodge. Park on grass and the lodge always had something going.

Coeur D Alene is one of our favorite cities so pretty and bike trails. You can ride to Spokane.
