The Class-less Class

Jeri, I think we need to go on the one meal plan, or so says our scale (but you know how those things lie)! I keep dropping it on the floor to break it, but its the toughest thing we have in the house. Hope everyone is having a great summer and finding a cool place to hang out. Steve

Now WHY would you address this to me, Steve? I'm in the market for FLORIDA clothes which means they are so different than ARIZONA clothes. I know that it's not a man thing but it certainly isn't a 3-meal a day thing either. Needless to say, I'm struggling with this! I guess if all else fails, elastic works great! :))))

Just Wanderin'

Alright gang, help. Doug does not like asking for help but he is at his wit's end. In April our hot tank was not working properly so we replaced it. Since then it has still not worked properly. Works sometimes. The red light in the control box is always on but it you flick it off for a second or two and on again it would work. We could live with that. Then it stopped. Doug thought it was the regulator so he replaced that. Worked again the hokey way. Then it stopped. He thought maybe it was the tank. He bought a new small one. It worked hokey for another while. Today he bought a new 30 pounder. Nothing. It will not fire. It ticks like it is trying but it will not fire. The stove elements all work well.

Any suggestions before we ask a serviceman. You know how he hates to do that.

Ours was acting goofy a couple of years ago. Had a service guy come out and he replaced the mother board, been fine ever since. Good Luck.

Jeff :)

If it's an atwood water heater there is a fuse wire outside just above the gas valve that could be corroded. If it is not working at all the in line fuse may be bad or just partially making contact. You can jump around the fuse and see if it lights. Just a thought Steve

I took the Navion over to Las Cruces this morning to get the power lifter on the large sky light and vent fixed. They ordered parts so more waiting and another appointment. When I got back home I tried it to see if it would open. Now nothing works at all and it won't latch now. A strong wind could get under it and tear the whole thing off. I don't know what they did but they really messed it up. Because they are not a winnebago dealer I think they can't figure out how it is supposed to work and are just tinkering and hoping. I think I really need some luck on this one. Just what I need, a 16 x 32 hole in the roof. Arrrg

Uhgggg. We were in Portland Oregon the 1st week on June and certainly did not think we would see it again until next summer for a couple weeks. But after leaving and working our way to Glacier NP we ended making a HUGE U turn and worked our way back for 2 more weeks, Uhgggg once again LOL!!

Then when Diane was checking us in they changed our site to the area most of the long term folks stay and that's not so good here, WHAT!!!! Well I already hate Portland and am not real fond of the park in the first pace so needless to say we got off to a bumpy start for this stay. At least after I went in the office we ended up in the area we agreed upon when we made reservations 3 weeks ago. Now I just need to get through the next 2 weeks in this God forsaken city and put it behind me once again LOL!!

Well, now you have to go to Toro Bravo to eat one night. Interesting place and if you take the chef's choice deal it's really good!

How's the move going for Diane's mom? Hang in there buddy it could be worse...you could be stuck in a motel in Elkhart, IN indefinitely waiting for repairs...LOL!

Those rib things are the worst Dave. I'll bet I've cracked mine at least four times. They seem to take forever to heal...I feel yer pain!

Ok Jeri, I was just talking about Carol & I, but maybe we can go on the "elastic diet", that sounds like something that would work!! :P

We just rolled in yesterday, Diane is going over tomorrow to help start going through her cloths & stuff and her brother is at the coast until Friday so the real fun will start this weekend.

And you certainly have a way of putting things in perspective mentioning your own issues. NO CONTENDING WITH THAT. We maybe we contended a year ago in Florida ;)

None the less I'll stop complaining knowing you are going through far worse than me right now.

I'm up at City of Rocks cooling it for a couple days. I'm actually boondocking. The only electric sites with a Verizon signal were occupied. So luckily site #1 which is the only non electric site that is level was open and I took it. I opened all the windows and the door and turned on the fan and it has been comfortable. Just before dark it rained for about 45 minutes so I closed up started the Gen set and cooked my dinner running the AC while I cooked. The rain cooled the air down so now the windows are open and it's staying cool in the rig. If we meet in Q this January I'll go to the slabs first and have a couple of panels installed. It sure feels good to get a little taste of my old style again. I think I'll boondock any time I come up here when the temperature is below about 93.

We loved the City of Rocks. We camped up on the backside of Pegasus for about a week 2 years ago. We certainly would stop back in if in the area. And a nice sky viewing gatherings as well. Have fun Lee!!

It feels a little warmer today but I've managed to hold the inside temperature to a maximum of 87 and it's now about 4:30 PM. As long as I keep the air moving with my trusty Wal-Mart 0-2-Cool fan. I't's rather comfortable, I had a little excitement around here this morning, I still don't know what it's all about. Early this AM a Rangers truck pulled into Site #2 about 70 yards from me. He got out and went into the rocks behind the site. I could see him appear between the rocks every once in a while like he was searching for something. About a half hour later a second range pulled into the site. He also went into the rocks. A while later they both left neither was carrying anything when they came out of the rocks. I thought that was the end of it but about 20 minutes later another ranger with a bunch of camera equipment came out of the rocks. He ran past my site heading toward the office with cameras swinging and bouncing. About 5 minutes later three ranger vehicles one with 4 men in the pickup bed came in a hurry and all went into the rocks and the ranger with all the camera stuff came back past my rig and joined the others. A while later they all emerged from the rocks and put something in the rear of the SUV ranger vehicle the all got in the other truck and took off. End of excitement, time for a Steve.

Doug, when I mentioned the cover of the HW Heater I meant the inside cove not the one on the outside of the trailer.

Thank you beloved guru of RV repair. It was the switches inside the control panel. Because the water heater is brand new, we will try to get a replacement if not Doug thinks he can just fix it.

Thanks Lee.

We have an announcement to make. We are going to re-retire. We will not be coming back to the park next spring. Long story to be shared around a campfire in the fall. So as of August 29th, we are FREE.
