The Class-less Class

Well, after spending couple months bouncing around in Oregon visiting family & friends we have spun away from the gravitational pull of Oregon and are floating around again. We spent a few nights passing through Washington and are now in Coeur D'Alene Idaho for a few nights. It will take us a couple weeks but we are slowing working our way to Glacier NP. We will spend a week there before slowing moving south.

Drop in and visit us just a little north of the border.

Dave, Coeur D'Alene has great bike trails. We'd park on the west side of town at Riverstone park. You can take the trail to the lake and along the lake front or go to Spokane the other way. Other trails branch off the trail going toward Spokane. Also the Hiawatha Trail is close by. Must have very good headlights for the 1.7 mile long tunnel.

We really liked Coeur D'Alene. Stayed 2 weeks last summer.

Travel safe everyone.

Many, many years ago we camped in a tent trailer at Coeur D'Alene. Visited our very first water park there. Great fun!

Now we tend to spend our Idaho time way further south since Dave has brothers who live alongside White Bird Hill on US 95.

We probably won't wander north of the border this time around but we have been enjoying this area. Hiked Tubbs Hill, did the tourist stuff downtown, took a drive up into the Idaho Panhandle National Forest, visited Sandpoint and took a drive out hwy 200, tomorrow is biking the trails and who knows what.

I know if I started to brag about the gorgeous weather we've had, it would start raining. I won't brag but you get the picture. Right now not too much to complain about. Certainly something will happen to spoil that though so we can -- complain, that is. Take care everyone and enjoy the summer. We know it doesn't last forever.

Same forecast for the Branson area. Occasional showers and T-storms for the rest of the week and 80's. Please Steve turn them off.

Someone turned the furnace on here. The prediction for the end of the week and next week ia 103 +/- 3. And me with no rv I can hit the road with plus an eye operation next week. STEVE are you playing with that flux capacitor again.

Hey Hey Hey, I'm doing all I can to shut off this rain and channel to California!! It's raining again right now, so Roger and Jeff get your bailing buckets ready. All of us are starting to rust around here, and even the shut off valve is rusty so I can't seem to get it shut off. At least I got the roof leak stopped on the bus. Turns out it was where the satellite wires were coming through the roof.

No Lee I'm not playing with it again, it's just your "old eyes" trying to read the thermostat! You'll sure notice the difference when you get "new peepers"! Then you'll be able to read the fine print in those sales documents. <_< Ok, now it's raining on the front of the bus and the sun is shinning on the back, I guess I should have gotten a shorter bus. Hmmmmm

Leave Steve alone. Oklahoma still needs rain to help it recover from the previous drought. I have a friend in Norman who is enjoying sitting with her patio door open soaking up the humidity. Now, if they could just keep the heat turned down there...

We are still sitting in Apache Junction waiting to hear from doctors. The weather gal said it is going to get hot this week. 110, 111, 112, 111. 109 doesn't qualify for hot. They are having special reports on how to be prepared for the monsoons. We went to the library and checked out a bunch of movies. Anything that needs to get done outside is early in the morning when it's only 85 out. Not exactly the summer I had planned.

118* in Havasu By Thursday.

Sandie, I hear ya, we also try to be done with anything outside, by 10 am at the latest. And I am constantly handing Paul water, to make sure he hydrates. He has been trying to rig up sunshades to keep the direct sun off the trailer.

Today was the first (but not the last, I am sure) day that the AC couldn't quite keep up.

Work crews start at 5 am here, and our meeting with the builder is at 7:30. hope we are done before we get baked.

At least Arizona is a dry heat. We spent 3 summers there and many, many more summers in the Dallas area. Dallas was more miserable due to humidity. However, now I'd much rather be where we're at even thought it was hot here at 87 today.

Is it just me or can y'all see the pins on the map?

Not going to be able to do much outside through Friday unless you want to get wet. The AC's are getting a workout, Tina stepped outside yesterday afternoon and her glass' fogged over. That's humid.

Stay cool and dry everyone.

This RV buying is like a soap operra. I finally agreed with the price and date so they sent me an order form. The numbers and date of pickup were stated but there was a second page that negated everything I asked for. Stating they could change the price if they had additional cost and i had no recourse if it wasn't delivered on time and that I would accept the unit as is and the company was not responsible for any damage in transit and a few other things that stripped away any right I had. I called them back and told them where to put their RV and contract. They have called back several times saying they would ammend the contract to take out anything I didn't agree with and the contract was written by the state of Iowa and they are required to use it. I told them I'll tell all my friends to never buy an RV in the state of Iowa then. The sales manager kept on talking about how good their customer satisfaction was so I just hung up. Then yesterday I drove over to Holiday world to look at their Coachmen PRISM and there was a Itasca Navion 24V parked next to the prism. The Navion and View are Identical. In fact they are built on the same assembly line. The Navion was a 2015 and had 4000 mile on it so they couldn't sale it as NEW. I started talking price and got them down to 8400 so I bought it and will pick it up Friday. Holiday World is in Las Cruces NM only 50 miles away. I got the insurance for it today and went to the bank and cut a Cashiers Check to take over there with me on Friday. I also got them to toss in window awnings $2000 and cab seat riser cushions $500 at no charge to me but will have to take the RV back to install them when they come in next week. Then this morning I found a mistake in the sales contract and went back over there. They corrected it so I said you should toss in a Maxair vent cover for making me drive back over their. To my surprise they did $100 for 100 miles over and back. Then as I walked out the door they handed me a new baseball cap and said we'll see you Friday. It looks like I will be able to get out of the heat this summer. I'm thinking about heading for Alpine AZ. It's near 8000 feet and only about 150 mile away. And so the world turns.

Lee, congrats on the rig!!!

Jeri, yeah, the heat could be worse, although it hit 122* this afternoon. We were at the lot, discussing walls, and we both turned and said "f&(@:'($;&&:# its hot"

all outside discussions need to take place before 10 AM when its at least below 110.

But as long as we have something to DO we don't care. Building has started, and we are stoked!

Who knows where we're going to find Lee next? With the smaller rig he may just be running all over the place! Congrats on finding the better rig at the better price.

Sue - Glad the building has started. However, too bad it's summer and you have to hang around. We had a house built during the summer in Arizona once too and plan on never doing that again. Winter is coming. You just have to wait a bit for it.

I'll add my 2 cents and give Lee a big CONGRATS on the new rig.

It's a good thing we are stationery this summer. Ed had his left eye cataract removed and at that time, the doctor said the right wasn't bad enough. Well he went to get new glasses and they just couldn't get it right. There is so much difference in his eyes now that no matter what they did, he was seeing double. So we went back over to the eye doctor to see about getting the other eye done. The surgery is scheduled for July 30!! This doctor is so good he is booked that far in advance!! Although he is off for 2 weeks for vacation. So hopefully by the time we leave here in September, he will have new eyes with new glasses that work!!

Still hot and humid here in VA!!

Congrats Lee on the new rig! :) Sounds like this place wanted to do business with you not give you the business. Happy Camping. B)

Ed and Linda, sorry about the eye/glasses issue. Got to be annoying but once done all should be good.

Waiting for more rain here in Branson. Lake Taneycomo has risen and we may have to move or find pontoons for the rv.

Stay cool and dry everyone.
