Ok, OK, now I know what a drowned rat feels like!! Enough rain already! We have now set a new all time record for the month of May in Oklahoma and it's still trying to rain. We got through all the storms and then Noah brought in the ark and started working on it. We did manage to acquire a water leak, and so far can't seem to find the source. It seems like it's coming through in the area that the front cap attaches, but our son spent quite a while up on the roof (in the rain) trying to seal everything up. Now we have to wait and see if the dripping is from already accumulated water or still leaking somewhere on the roof. I guess I need to get all of the roof inspected and resealed or go to California! ^_^

I vote go to California. Just don't stay there long enough to get declared a resident.

Drive it into the lake and have Carol in the boat watching where the bubbles come out.

The LOW gang is having a picnic tomorrow. I wonder how high my blood pressure will go after I eat a nice big hunk of the polish sausage. Today I cooked up 4 lbs of hamburger to add to my frozen veggies for the next month. I'm beat from all the standing.

Poof!! we have a circus. Seems as though the circus is in town and right in front of us. :o I heard a couple of car door slams early this morning and when I got up at about 7:30, there was a circus about 100' in front of us, with elephants and whole ball of wax. Amazing how fast they can set it all up, because they pulled in at 5:30 AM and the first show is at 4:30 PM this afternoon. They have another show tomorrow then Poof! gone again. Almost like RVer's  Now the local FM station is setting up in front so we may not get a quiet night tonight! Oh well, I have to get up early for my second cataract surgery tomorrow morning anyway. At least I only have to walk 100' for tickets. Steve

Maybe the lack of sleep last night and tonight will make your anesthesia take better for your surgery tomorrow. Then tomorrow night you will be exhausted enough to sleep well. In the meantime--Circus!!!

Are you sure it isn't that Baaaaaaaaaaadddddd Whisky you've been drinking. No maybe not you usually can't see anything after a slug of that. Maybe one of those OKC Tornados whisked you off to Lalla Land. Don't ride the merry-go-round too many times you know what that does to your stomach.

It finally got up into the 90's here in Deming. So I finally plugged in to the current bush to run the A/C. Nights are still cool so sleeping is good. I'm not doing much right now. I had to move my rig the other day so they could get the tractor in here to cut a ridge off to allow it to drain better when it rains. Guess what the slide wouldn't come in. I thought we had that fixed. Oh well back to the drawing board.

Like Dave said, "we already belong"! And yes I can see pretty good now. I looked out the front window and the circus is gone!! Or is that "not seeing"? Were they ever there. I do remember the elephants, or was that before surgery? I'll have to form a committee and discuss this. I'll get back to you. Steve

We are under a extreme storm watch but I don't think it will hit us. How ever I do hear thunder fairly close. We would welcome the rain but not the hail they say the storm is producing. It's getting close to my eye appointment so maybe after Friday I'll have something to talk about. I hope this storm isn't one that Steve sent this way. I'd hate to witness it raining Elephants and Circus tents.

Please pass the eraser and chalk. Thought we'd be in Arizona this next winter but we've decide to go to Florida instead. Hear some other are going to Florida also. We have doctor visits in Texas in April and a graduation in Phoenix in May. This time hope to see more of the gulf coast on our way to Texas next spring.

We're in Kansas City and haven't seen the sun since last Wednesday.

97 degrees today in the shade. I want to get out of here before I get singed. There was a breeze so it wasn't too bad. I sure hope I get the cataract surgery soon so I can order that new RV. Then I'll be able to escape this place any time I please. This is the lowest number of people staying in the park I've ever seen. If anymore leave I'll end up talking to myself. Oh sorry, I already do that.

I'm certain there are folks who have taken their RV around NY but not us. We avoid that area in an RV whenever possible and only via an airplane. I think you can park on the New Jersey side. However, if you've never been, it's one of those must see places.

We're still remodeling the cabin. Will work never stop??

That's our plans too -- Florida bound eventually. Love the Gulf Coast when you don't have to run from storms like this year.

The closest RV park to the city is this one...

http://www.libertyharborrv.com

It doesn't really have a great reputation, more of a parking lot than anything from what others have told us. It does have the advantage of a view of the city and very good access to the city.

How far are you willing to travel to the city? I can give you other suggestions, but it would depend on your budget and willingness to travel.

That is where we stayed when we were on the RV tour. They had a tour bus for our trips into the city.

Jeri - I'm sure we'll see each other in Florida. Maybe we'll have a class less get together too. LOL. You going to do the Tampa RV show in January?

We finally saw the sun today but could have rain in the morning. Yuck.

Toni, we stayed at Liberty Harbor RV park in Jersey City. It's right across from Manhattan and you can see the Statue of Liberty right out your window. From there you can take a water taxi to Wall Street for about $7 each and then at wall street you can get on the regular subway to go anywhere else. Also you can walk about 7 blocks from the RV park and catch the train to the subway. It was about $70 per night when we were there for 50A and water. There is a dump on premises.

Thanks Steve - I researched that one but thought it was too expensive but maybe in the long run it will be worth it because of the location. We'll see.

It's kind of like when we went to Key West--it was very expensive but we figured we were only going to do it once in our lifetime so we broke the piggy bank and went for it.
