Beautiful weather nice COE park and plenty of rest and pleasant walks. It just don't get much better than this.

SOOs: The Chevy Service Manager said they have been having issues with the sending module (that isn't the name he used but that's what I got from his explanation.) Anyway It seems to be OK now. I'll know by the time I get to Deming.

Ordered parts for the repair of our toilet. New seal and a spring assembly that makes sure that the foot pedal snaps back after flushing. If the pedal doesn't snap back the water will keep flowing like it did the other night. We're in Aurora, CO and had family over... Someone forgot to lift it back into place and we woke at 4 a.m. to find that the black tank had overflowed and coach was flooded with water...crikey. On the way to Denver we had warning lights going off on the dash again ad nauseum. Then on arrival we went to unhook the Jeep we found that we couldn't shift it into gear because the cable was broke. $500 to fix and our third tow with Coachnet in a year. Now the ignition key starts the engine intermittently. Trying to get in for repair before we head out on a 300 mile leg to Kansas. It's gotten to the point where enough is enough of throwing good money into this money pit and we're afraid to travel. Started internet shopping for a replacement or will hang up the keys. We've had nothing but drama the past year since buying it and it has made our lifestyle unbearable. Dreaming of that place with a dock and pontoon boat! :(

Lee, we need your rabbit's foot if there's any magic left in it!

I'm at Delhi, LA tonight at the Poverty Point Reservoir State Park. I should have kept going to Minden, LA where I stayed in that Beaver Dam Forest service canpground. This place looks good at first sight but the sites are very narrow and very un level. I've used ever block I had to get even close to level. There is 4 inches of brocks under each driverside wheel and a foot of those orange jack pads under each rear stabilizers. Coming into the place there was a lady at the gate house that acted like I was disturbing her while assigning me a site. The turn off to the RV sites is through a parking lot and the sign is not readable because it hasn't been painted in the last 20 years. Naturlly I drove right past it and wondered why the map didn't make sense. I ended up in some cabins with no place to turn around. I finally found a grass lawn with no ditch and backed the trailer into that to make the flip flop. After getting parked, the back of my trailer is waist high. I'm sure glad I didn't unhitch. It would have rolled down a revine in back of me. Anyway I'm here, got the A/C running full blast and it's early enough to get a good rest and walk in before dark. Next time it's the Forest Service CG and a lot cheaper.

Roger: My old rabbits foot didn't work worth a darn. It brought bad luck instead of good luck. Just ask the rabbit it belonged to before I got it. I agree with you. Get rid of that MH. Get a good truck and a stick and tin trailer without all the bells and whistles. At least if one has problems you won't loose the other.

Gees Roger the "ol' Beave" hasn't been very kind to you and Lynn since you rescued it from Florida. Maybe it's homesick and wants to go back. I remember my Dad telling me " if you own an RV you don't need a hobby because it will keep you busy working on it". Hang in there.

Well dang Roger, that thing has sure been a pain in the rear. Can't blame you for thinking about some sort of change at this point. Tough to decide if things are about all fixed or if it will never end. It would be a shame to have it make you leave the RV life style. Don't let it drag you down that far before you make a change buddy.

Thanks for all the buck ups guys...we appreciate the good thoughts. Scheduled to take it into a Cat service place tomorrow. Just hope that it starts so that we don't need a tow. Have to keep moving and make the long trek back to Illinois before the end of the month to get our licenses renewed and make the doc appointments. Fingers crossed.

I'm at Tyler Lake state park, Tyler Texas. I got here about noon. It sprinkled on me just as I was finishing the set up process but stopped when I went inside. Maybe it was trying to tell me I need a bath. The weather man says rain for the forseable future. All ten days on the 10 day forcast. So far I've been able to duck under the rain storms with no more than a sprinkle. I hope my luck holds out. Three nights in Texas and I pull into Deming and hopefully get my cataract removed and some new glasses.

ROGER: Get a new rope so Lynn can pull you to the next rv park with her bicycle. Dang I'd have either gone broke or crazy with all the problems the Beaver has handed you. Maybe both. Your due a bunch of very GOOD Luck.

I'm in Sweetwater, TX tonight at the Lone Star RV PK. People who reviewed this park must get a kickback. The reviews rate it the best in the area. It's one of those places where you put your money in a slot in the door and never see any real live body. It is fairly clean but the roads and sites are a mess. Bumpy packed gravel and nowhere near level. I should have found the local Wal-Mart.

The unlevel situation last night was a headache this morning. It twisted the frame so I couldn't get the slid to come in. So I took out all the blocking, lifted the tongue jack and stabilizers, then pulled the trailer up on the park road which was flat the tried the slide switch again. It came in part way and stopped again. By pulling in on the facer board then letting it go so the slid would flop back down it finally came the rest of the way in. I'm hoping it works in the morning cause it will probable be raining. It's sprinkling right now. One more night and I'll be back in deming. I've got my fingers and legs crossed that the slide works on that last stop. (Correction, my legs are crossed cause I got ti Pee.) Bye

Lee, it sounds like you and I are on the same boat. Dropped off the MH this a.m. at a Cat service center and it died on me as I was parking it. It wouldn't start and I thought that this is a good thing since I got it there without needing a tow and there was the problem in their lap. Just got a call from the tech informing me that he had no trouble starting it and after two hours of testing things he couldn't find any abnormalities...sheeesh! We decided to replace the ignition solenoid anyway. They're gonna keep it overnight and see if it starts okay in the a.m. Got all of my limbs crossed too!!

Roger, you have had way too many problems. You've had enough so that the rest of us shouldn't ever have a problem again. Best of luck!!

Lee - You're sure making tracks across Texas. Deming is just around the corner.

We spent the day at Yorktown with the Lavins. They looked great and It was sure good to see them again. They're in good spirits and just as sassy as ever! :D We're looking forward to another outing with them next week.

Oh! Do you have to Pee too?

Roger, If this repair doesn't stop all the problems, I think it's time to plan a trip to Grand Canyon and make a left turn when the road turns right. You are insured aren't you?

I'm also in another Tornado Watch until 9 PM. this is DEFINITELY my last long trip. Especially with this rig. Next trip I'll bring a RV repairman, A nurse, A housekeeper, and a masseuse. And a whole box of rabbit's feet. But as soon as I get my eye fixed and new glasses I'll drift around the southwest a bit. And the key word there is Drift. Edited by IYQ

We finished up our one month stay in Grants Pass and Diane got her dive cruise out of the way and we are now in the Portland Oregon area visiting family and friends for 2 weeks.

We sure home everyone gets all of the icky things fixed before long. We certainly know how much of a pain it can be.

Well Roger I sure hope the solenoid gets the beave going again. I hate those intermittent problems.

We had quite a night of tornadoes yesterday. The first round had us going into the shelter at the hospital next door. Then we had a second round that came the same directioin. only this time I had to ride it out in the bus. No tornado, but 80 mph winds hail and 8" of rain. Didn't see any cows blowing by but a few things I couldn't recognize. They did have a zoo that got hit in a small town next to us and the lions, tigers and bears got out. Haven't seen any of them here yet, but I guess I'll keep the shotgun handy just in case. Hate to get missed by a tornado and eaten by a bear. Hmmmmm No damage to us or vehicles, but the guy next door lost a windshield in his jeep. Looks like another round is going to come through tonight so we need to keep out guard up. Finally got my eye surgery schedule next Thursday so maybe we can get that done a get out of here. Steve

Yup,, we all know how the "plan" thing works LOL!!! Where will you be staying? 10 days, we might be gone or at least about ready to go by then I guess. BUT we will be back up in a couple weeks after we leave for 1 more week. Then the "plan" is to pull away from the gravitational pull of Oregon and head north east.

Steve if yoU mess around there and let a tornado carry you away I'll never speak to you again. After all who in the heck could I harass if you were not around. Every year it's the same. One tornado after another. It's not a question of will a tornado get you. It's just WHEN. Get that Bus a rollin'.

I'm in Van Horn, TX. tonight. As much as I don't want to spend any money here, it was a matter of here or driving over 500 miles today to go on in to Deming. The only RV park between here and El Paso is in Sierra Blanca and it sets between the railroad and the interstate. I stayed there once and that was enough for me.

I'm In the Desert Willow RV Park. It's nothing but a gravel parking lot but it's level, clean and the sites are long enough so I don't have to unhitch. Best of all it's an Escapee's 50% park only $13.50 for 30/50 electric, laundry bathrooms with showers and very good WiFi. The lady in the office was very pleasant to top it off.

It's only 225 miles to Deming. I'll get there early enough to pull into Jimmy's RV and set up an appointment to replace the corner cap and check the slide. Then have the weekend to rest and relax before starting the ball rolling on fixing my eye's. sending to SD for my vehicle licenses and returning that bent strut for the rebate. I might even get a chance to try out my little trailer.

We'll be about 30 miles north of Portland. We'll probably be around for about 6-8 weeks BUT we'll be back after we're gone a couple weeks too. And, so the summer will go -- back and forth and back and forth.

Yes, it was a whirlwind trip. I was trying to keep out of the rain because of the damage to the rear corner of my trailer and not wanting to get the frame and insulation wet. Plus the fact that every place I stopped that I liked I was getting tornado warnings. When it comes to tornados I'm chicken. There is nothing but sunshine and the dratted wind here.

We've been close to tornadoes, huge thunderstorms, water moccasins and gators this trip. I understand the word "chicken" because I've been one many times in the last couple of months. We'll be leaving Virginia soon and all those things won't be in the Pacific NW when we get there next week.

No tornados, no snakes, no gators, no hail, and no wind!!! I'm all for that!! If we ever get out of this place we're going to head to the PNW again. Then all we have to contend with is fog and rain.....we can handle that. Now we have a small thunderstorm coming through but it's not severe and no hail. The day we have to worry about is Saturday, but if I can just get out the shotgun and get me a rabbit. Hmmmm
