  1. We have decided to downsize since we are traveling part time. So, we are selling our 2011 Monaco Monarch 33 SFS with 25K miles on the engine. This is a Class A, 34-foot Gas Coach, Ford V10, with one full bath with shower. 6 brand new tires driven approx 1600 miles (approx $4500 value) It has an electric fireplace/heater in addition to the propane fired furnace. 2 AC units with heat pumps. 2 TVs on the inside 3-way refrigerator with an ice maker. Plenty of outside storage with pass through. Full body paint. Convection microwave. The dining area has 2 chairs instead of a dinette. Great vehicle for boondocking with a 5500W Onan generator installed. Upgraded window awnings. Fiberglass Roof. Stored under cover most of its life in a barn.   2. Martha and I are way behind on blogging. We finally finished the last of our Washington stays near Cashmere and Wanatchee. While there we visited the Cashmere Pioneer Museum which was an unexpected and well curated display and also we visited Leavenworth, Washington where the whole town is built around the Bavarian theme. While there we visited the "Nutcracker" museum. Yes, it's a thing.   3. RV site for rent on our little 1/4 acre property on Guemes Island in Anacortes WA. Check out the weather on Guemes! It is more temperate than farther inland as it is in a protected cove in Puget Sound. The rent is $550 per month and includes, water, electric, trash and sewer. We have a tiny house on the property and are only there part time. It is a 5 minute ferry ride to Anacortes and the ferry leaves every 30 minutes during the day. Beach rites included at Cooks Cove. Walking distance. We are looking for a longer term renter for the site (6 months or more) who would be a nice neighbor. 559-676-0511
  4. Hello, I am currently in Lajitas, Texas but plan on going up to the Olympic Peninsula in Washington this coming late Spring/Summer. Since I have never been there I would appreciate suggestions for campgrounds, full hooks or not. I have a small TT with small holding tanks so the longest I could do without full hook ups is 6-7 days. Thanks! Joan
  5. Howdy folks! Seeking wisdom from those who've gone before us.... My wife and I (and our two furry dependents) live outside Denver, CO and we just went under contract on the sale of our home. We own a vacant building lot in another town in the same county here in Colorado but we do not intend to build on that for a year or more. Our goal after we close on the sale of our home in January is to be nomads in our 5th wheel for at least 4-6 months. We both work from home or "virtually", so as long as we have Internet access, we're OK (we've got a bundle of doo-dads to help with that!) So my questions arise from the pseudo-Colorado residence condition we have. Both hour DLs and our vehicle registrations (including the RV) are in Colorado. We have Colorado PO Boxes for our respective businesses (neither of which are Colorado licensed businesses), but we plan to avail of a mail forwarding (re-mailing) service to ensure we get our mail in a relatively timely manner wherever we're stationed these next few months. Our vacant building lot has a mailing address, but no cluster box and no on-property mailbox. So I am unsure how the mail forwarding works and if we should change all of our accounts to the vacant lot mailing address and have the mail forwarded from there. Is this a legitimate way to claim residency in Colorado, via a vacant parcel of land? Additional factors that may make a difference in any of your recommendations: - My wife's name is on the deed of a property in Texas she, her sister and her dad share. Her sister has a residence on it and lives there full time. Could we state Texas residency based on my wife's name on the deed? - My wife's parents live in Washington State and we are considering buying a small home there temporarily AFTER our 4-6 months of travel, until her folks retire and move in 3 years. Neither Washington nor Texas have state income tax, so they both look attractive from that standpoint, but I am not sure if we should go through the effort of claiming residency in either and changing our DLs, registrations, plates, etc. Besides, we sort of like being from Colorado! What did I miss?
  6. I planning to leave Atlanta in June and wander over to the northwest coast spending the majority of the fall and winter there. Should I buy chains for my 20014 Dodge Ram truck and do I need them for the trailer, too? I have to be at Fort Stevens in Oregon for two weeks ending on the 5th of September. Would I still have time to cross over the Cascades and do more sightseeing in Washington or Idaho and be able to get back before worrying too much about snow. If I do need chains, should I buy them from the Dodge dealer here, in Atlanta, or wait until I'm out west. I'm sure like everything else, price is higher at dealers, but where else could I buy them and have them installed. Would I be better off buying snow tires? Thanks for the advice I always get from this great group. (Go easy on me. I've never been west in the winter. My husband would have known how to put chains on, but I have no clue so I might need to practice a few times).
  7. Hello, I am a little confused about income tax in Washington state. I know that there isn't an income tax in Washington- but as a full-time consultant would I be considered a 'business' and have a business tax? I noticed that the government website refers to an income of less than $50K- I would be making less then that in this calendar year. Thanks for your help!
