  1. We have been Escapee members for about 15 years, about 12 years using their mail service as we are fill time. We have no sort of home base and have not had such for 12 years. That makes it more difficult when we travel internationally as we don"t have a set place to leave our motorhome. In January, we will be traveling out of the country for about two months. We have reservations out of Houston International. We have intended to leave the RV at the Escapees long-term storage. The problem is that Escapees will not take reservations for long-term storage and we were told it was "hit or miss" as to whether there would be a long term storage space available when we need it in mid-January. That makes it rough to plan. We would welcome any suggestions. Are there other places in Livingston or surrounding area that have long-term RV storage? We would prefer to leave it hooked to electrical, but could get by without as we have two large solar panels that should, hopefully, keep the batteries charged. Any thoughts would be appreciated, regarding this trip or good suggestions for other international trips. Thanks, Jim Jan
  2. Do you have a rear bumper storage rack/deck on your TT? If so, which one do you have and what do you stow on it? My TT does not have a built in 2" x 2" hitch receiver and I would need to install one of the clamp/bolt on receiver to the bumper. Some of these extend out and would appear to have a high moment load - especially when road conditions bounce things around. I've seen a couple set-ups with truck bed tool boxes mounted which offers some moderate level of securing items being stowed. Interested in hearing what others are using. Thanks.
  3. Hello, My name is Alexander, but you can call me Alex, I live in Brazil and I'm working hard to be able to get a linear income that allows me to achieve my RV dream. I wish I could buy an RV in the US and storaged it while I am here in Brazil. First of all I'll rent one to better understand how it works. Indeed I'd like to buy one RV Class C or Class A. However I have many questions on how I could do this. - How can I store it?, - How can I keep it working when it's storaged?, - Are there some company that can take care of the RV for me? - It's possible rent my RV while I'm in Brazil? - How can I contract an Insurance for foreigners? - Motorhome + toad is it easy and essencial? My goal is take a lot of trips for 2 or 3 months, on 2 different times on year. I would love if you could give me some advice and tips on how we (foreigners) can do it. Could you possibly share some videos or articles about it with me. Best Regards

  5. I'm working on a project you guys might be interested in. It's a rear storage rack for the Smart cars. This is an evolution of my first proof of concept design. The video should explain it pretty well. The only thing not shown is the rear bumper bolt connection. Things I'm considering that I would like your feedback on: Provide brake/running lights on bottom of rack for driving when rack is stowed in up position Provide see-through window so license plate will be visible when stowed in up position This setup would add about 6" of length to the Smart, so I doubt we would be able to leave the rack on the car when being transported on the deck of our trucks. It will be all aluminum and very easy to remove (one hitch pin and two bolts). Here was my proof of concept design that I still use quite a bit with the bikes: View High Resolution Photo View High Resolution Photo View High Resolution Photo
