  3. Hi Everyone, We just got the bad news that our motor home was a victim of the floods here in Louisiana while on a dealer's storage lot waiting on servicing! Unfortunately it was a total loss and our insurance doesn't cover a flood. Our plan when we bought this was to hit the road in retirement this February. We've been RVing for years and retiring full time was our dream! So with that said, we're starting the hunt over again, this time with a car for trade if anyone is interested. We just bought this Kia Soul crossover three weeks ago to use as a toad. It's a Limited Edition and has 595 miles on it and is virtually brand new. We paid $23,535.00 for it cash and have the title in hand. We're looking to replace our 1999 36' Class A with something similar. The only requirements are that it is a clean, dependable coach with a living room slide, and all the systems are functional Must be 1999 and up and ready to drive. Here are the details on the car: 2016 Kia Soul, Limited Edition Solar Yellow (paint looks amazing), 5-door, power everything, A/C, 6-speed automatic transmission, upgraded wheels, automatic headlights, satellite radio, navigation, backup camera, UVO entertainment system and Infinity sound with 10" LCD screen, 9-speaker upgrade with sub-woofer, Internet apps, cruise control, steering wheel controls, Bluetooth, two USB ports, two 12v power plugs, custom leather steering wheel with matching accent stitching, accent stitching on the entire interior, floor mats, spare package, pin striping, trunk organizer, paint protection, interior scotch guard, and I'm probably forgetting some things. I am in the New Orleans, LA area, and I can come to you, or vice versa. We looked LONG AND HARD for this car and compared it to over a dozen others. This car drives fantastic, has all the comfort options, is very quiet and handles wonderfully. Everyone compliments the paint!
  4. Still available!! Asking $25,000 for this fully-loaded 2011 4x4 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 70,000 miles. This comfortable and rugged SUV can handle all your adventures in style, with tons of power to spare thanks to the 5.6 L V8 Hemi under the hood. It handled great the couple of times we had it in the snowy mountains briefly, and has never seen salt! We've used it to tow a cargo trailer and our 4500 lb vintage Airstream (it has a 7500 lb tow rating), and later installed a Blue Ox base plate behind the front bumper to tow it behind our motorhome too. It easily transfers into neutral with the touch of a button to be flat-towable - most automatic cars can't do that, or at least not that easily! The breakaway switch and wiring kit for the rear lights are also installed for towing it. We're only selling it now to downsize our full-time RVing to our new Class B. This has been the perfect SUV to camp with (you can buy a tent to attach to the tailgate and sleep in the back of the Jeep), pull a trailer, haul around two and four-legged family, but also go off-road or get through tough mud and snow with 4WD. A high-end Tekonsha brake controller is already installed for towing trailers that have their own brakes. The front base plate can be used to install a winch or other accessories if you don't plan to pull it behind an RV. Heat works great, A/C is ice cold, all scheduled maintenance performed, newer tires, fully loaded with all the goodies including heated and cooled seats, panoramic sunroof, never seen salt (it's from Tennessee and we try to avoid snow while RVing), no accidents, non-smokers, satellite radio, roof rails installed aftermarket for watercraft, bikes, or a roof box, rubber cargo mat in rear. 100,000 mile transferable extended factory warranty. We have had our dogs in this vehicle, so if you have a serious dog allergy that might be an issue for you. There are a few minor scratches and scuffs on the exterior and interior from normal wear and tear, but nothing major. Trying to sell this fast so we can get back on the road with just our new class B! We'll be in Florida Jan through March, then heading up the east coast with it this year if we still haven't sold it. We blog at http://snowmads.com if you want to know more about us Features: Backup Camera Bluetooth Hands-Free CD Player Cruise Control Heated Seats Keyless Entry Leather Seats Multi-zone Climate Control Navigation Portable Audio Connection Power Locks Power Windows Premium Wheels Security System Steering Wheel Controls Sunroof Trailer Hitch
  5. We have a 2001 Volvo VNL64T660 and 2009 SmartCar combo for sale. The Volvo has the Eaton Fuller Autoshift 10 speed transmission, the transmission is programmed to start out in 3rd instead of 1st. We have never had to use 1st or 2nd to start, only to "creep" in heavy traffic. The engine is the VED 12, 465 hp, 1650 ft lbs torque. The truck has 603,XXX miles, was originally bought out of commercial in 2008 with 535,150 miles, we purchased it with 572,XXX miles. We are the second owners who have used it as an RV hauler. The previous owners were HDT forum members and I can provide their name/contact info, with their permission of course. After our purchase the truck was singled long and has a custom bed by 2L Custom Trucks. The bed is fully skirted and has a loader that can be raised from the road side to take the break out of loading a vehicle and allow unloading to the curb side out of traffic if needed. The truck is configured in the "weed burner" style and has had a drom box added right behind the cab. The commercial trailer wiring has been converted using the Jackalope system and I put in two solid wire runs from the Jackalope to the rear of the bed for both truck and trailer lights, I then put in two weather proof J boxes to allow repair/replacement of truck or trailer wiring without having to do a splice job each time, you can just build a replacement pigtail and install it. The truck has the ET Hitch and it was upgraded/modified by Henry S. in 2014. The ET gets it's air supply from the truck slider switch on the dash so you can isolate the hitch and not put any air in it if required. The bed was designed to allow a full 60" clearance between where the loading ramps sit on the bed to the front of our fifth wheel, plenty of pivot room. We previously carried a Can-Am Spyder tryke with extremely low front end clearance, the adjustable height loader allowed us to load without scraping bottom. The SmartCar loads without having to use the loader. There is a electric winch system stored in the drivers side front bed compartment, once the "L" arm is attached to the side of the bed above the compartment it allows you to safely winch up the SmartCar. The L arm has two positions, one is centered on the loader that we used for the Spyder tow slings and one offset to the left for use with the SmartCar tow hook. You can drive the SmartCar up if you prefer, we usually winch it up and then drive it down. There are three (3) 2,000 lb ramps from Discount Ramps included, there are three because of the previous requirements of the Spyder. The SmartCar is held down by a eTrack system with straps that go over the front and rear tires on each side of the car, very secure and easy to use for transport. There is a Onan 6500 QD generator (390 hours) installed on the passenger side front bed compartment, it's tapped into the twin 125 gal diesel tanks . The genset compartment has a 50 amp receptacle for external connection in a weather proof box, the electrical cord runs out thru the bottom of the bed. The generator also charges the truck batteries. We have used it dry camping to keep our batteries (truck and fifth wheel) topped up as well as other people's rigs. Nice to have the gen set on the truck where you can position it away from the campsite to reduce the noise. Installing it on the truck also freed up the generator compartment on the fifth wheel and added the weight the generator would have taken up as increased personal cargo capacity. The generator has had the fuel pump replaced under the Onan service bulletin citing premature fuel pump failure. The work was done at Rocky Mountain Onan Cummins in Denver and was covered under warranty. Other annual service has been done by me. The truck has an Vector Maxx SST Model VEC056C 2500W modified sine inverter and pass through shore power capability (30 amp marine receptacle, with power cord included). There are 110 outlets in the interior as well as in the driver luggage compartment which houses all the electrical components. The batteries are kept up by the Progressive Dynamics Intellipower 9100 power converter/battery minder system. The truck also has it's own 100 watt solar panel with controller. The solar panel is mounted on top of the drom box and can be tilted manually if needed. Nice to have when you have to park the truck away from the campsite for extended periods. There are an additional two storage compartments on each side of the rear of the bed. I use these for leveling blocks and the messy truck stuff we all have to carry. There is a compressed air outlet in the drivers side rear compartment. The drom box has two doors, the upper door is configured horizontally and opens upward. The lower door opens from passenger side to drivers side vertically. The lower compartment has three levels. The lower level is 30" H by 26" D by 70" W. All measurements are from interior wall to wall and shelf to shelf. The middle compartment is 24" H by 26" D by 70" W. The upper compartment is 18" H by 26" D by 70" W. The upper level compartment is 18" H by 26" D by 70" W. There are three (3) cargo lock bars included, the nice ones that ratchet out and then fine tune with the twist and lock system. This box will hold a lot of stuff, we almost filled up a 8 X 12 shed when we emptied it. In the truck cab interior the lower bunk has been removed and a dinette/seating area custom built by 2L Custom. There are four lap seat belts installed if needed. We have had 3 grandkids back there comfortably. The table is the marine octagon type on a pedestal and is removable, it stays removed most of the time for us. The upper bunk remains and can be used as a sleeper and has the cargo net so it can be used as storage and not have things flying around the cab for those unexpected stops. The cab has a trucker fridge mounted in the upper portion of the "coat closet" behind the passenger seat. Not on the floor where you can't get to your items, having it at eye levels makes it much more useful. The bottom half of the coat closet can still be used to hang coats and things. There is a custom cabinet behind the drivers seat that has a microwave and self contained sink. The sink is not fancy but serves to wash your hands, brush your teeth etc. There is no porta potti, but there is a space under the dinette seating area to store one if desired, we just chose not to use one. There is a RAM computer work table for the co-pilot that swivels around to use when traveling. Cosmetically the truck is in good shape. The interior has no tears or cracks in the dash, the seats both have cloth seat covers on them, are air ride and adjustable and all the adjustments work. The dinette area is pretty much brand new. The exterior has the normal road chips and dings you would expect from a 14 year old truck. It's not perfect but not trashed out either, nothing effects the functionality of the truck. The SmartCar is a Silver and Black 2009 Brabus Cabriolet with 54,XXX miles. We purchased it from an individual in Chandler, AZ in 2014. The car was sold new at Chandler Mercedes Benz to a lady, she kept it 3 years and then traded it in on a new Passion Coupe, she decided the convertible was not for her. One of the salesmen bought it from the dealer and kept it 2 years, then bought a Mercedes G wagon that had been traded in so had no more use for the Smart. Car has been in AZ most of it's life but was garaged kept by both owners. It has the power convertible top and removable panels to make it look like a true convertible with the top down. It runs great and also has no problems. We put Blue Ox base plates on it to allow a contingency plan if we needed to tow it with our motor coach or the Volvo. We plan on getting a Jeep Rubicon to pull behind the motor coach. We just finished a 4K mile year of traveling (family issues limited us this year and is why we missed the HDT rally), and have done as much as 8K in one year with no major problems. Everything works and the truck runs fine. In 2013 on the way to the HDT rally we had the oil pressure sensor go bad, replaced with no further problems. We just had the air conditioner system components replaced due to leaks in Oct. 2015. The work was done by Transwest in Denver, Co. Blows really cold cab air now. All scheduled maintenance has been done on an annual basis, usually wherever we spent the winter months. The top end maintenance was completed by the previous owner before we bought it, engine should be good til a million miles before overhaul. there are absolutely no fluid leaks and the truck does not use oil. We bought this truck at the 2011 HDT rally on the advice of several of the members of the HDT forum who were there, this was our first truck and we had absolutely no experience driving or maintaining a big rig. We have not been disappointed with their recommendation, it's been a great truck, made pulling a heavy fifth wheel as easy and safe as possible. We have had two blowouts on the fifth wheel (bearing issues, another story) and the truck absolutely did not even swerve and got us stopped both times before any major damage was done by the tire shreds. We have parked our fifth wheel at the Escapees co-op park in Jojoba Hills, Ca. and no longer need the Volvo. We will continue to travel extensively in a '03 36' Foretravel motor coach we recently purchased. We are asking $65,000 for both vehicles as a turnkey unit, all you need is any size fifth wheel you'd like to pull and you're ready for the road. Truck and SmartCar are currently located in Temecula, Ca. for the winter. If you are seriously interested email me and I can provide my cell phone, pictures and more info as requested. 6. We bought a new CRV so it's time to sell our trusted companion from the last 10 years. Following is as complete a description as my pen can write, both good and bad. For sale: 1999 Honda CRV EX, 2 wheel drive, automatic transmission. White with gray interior. EX model is the deluxe model in 1999 that includes air conditioning, cruise, auto transmission, power tinted windows and remote locks, tilt, alloy wheels, roof rack, cd, cassette player and deluxe interior. I put new Bridgestone tires, spare tire cover, brakes and battery in it in the last year. Within the last three years all the hoses, belts were replaced also the timing belt and water pump were replaced just to avoid any future problems. The ball joints and tie rods were replaced 2 years ago. The transmission was rebuilt 2.5 years ago. The car has been well maintained over the ten years that we owned the car because, like many full timers its our only means of getting around with less than 8 wheels. It has 259k miles and runs perfectly. Problems inlude leaking cam shaft seal, top of the engine, above transmission. It oozes 1 quart every 6 weeks. It's just not worth it to me to repair it. 8 quarts of oil a year is not very expensive. The right passenger window control (switch) does not work. The window works from the drivers control.but the switch in the passenger door does not work. The rear door/hatch in the rear works but the handle sticks and has to be coaxed. Dashboard clock does not work. Missing the ashtray. Someone broke in while visiting Chicago and stole the whole ash tray instead of taking the change. The "D" light on the dashboard for the transmission does not work. These are all the problems with the car that I am aware of. The car has a Roadmaster base plate (Roadmaster 1528-3) with two removable arms. Included is a Roadmaster wiring setup with a 4 flat connection. Also available is a M&G braking system. The system that is installed requires air brakes on the coach. Adapters can be purchased from M&G for hydraulic braking on the coach. Also available is a breakaway controller for the M&G braking system. Both of these are available for the reclaim cost/saving that I would get when I purchase a new braking controller from M&G. I am asking $3000 for the car along with the Roadmaster baseplate and wiring. The car is in the far north end of Las Vegas, NV. I will be leaving Las Vegas in early April. Call me with additional questions. Eric Perplies 360-239-0724 NOTE: I have a technical problem trying to get the photos small enough to include with this posting. All aspects of the car are perfect from the photos. Call me and I can email you photos of the car. I was able to post two photos on rvclearinghouse.com You can view the car photos there if you want. Again the car looks like any other 1999 Honda CRV EX with no damage. Sorry for my technical inadequacies. Eric Perplies SKP# 83295 360-239-0724 currently in Las Vegas
