  1. After having issues with our 5th wheel contacting our trailer we starting looking into all options. The Andersen Ultimate Connection kept catching our eye, this hitch is lighter and stronger than ever! Weighing in at 35 lbs it makes the removal process simple and helps with our payload. With this installation I filmed as much detail as I could while also getting the job done. This hitch helps solve the problem short bed truck owners face, the base pushes the hitching point back 4 inches. Then when you install the coupler depending on your setup and configuration you can gain another 4 inches. We gained 8 inches of clearance, and that has been enough for us. Towing has been great! Let us know your thoughts!
  2. ✶✶✶IN THIS VIDEO✶✶✶ Well we got a new trailer and it's very large. Our first shake down trip didn't go quite as planned, we had many problems. We don't let that get us down, in Big Bear California for the weekend with friends. We do some boondocking near Big Bear. While we are in the area we head over to the Alpine Zoo! They help rehab injured animals and give homes to orphaned one's. 90% of the animals brought in are released back into their natural habitats. We also take some time to visit with a good friend that moved into the area many years ago. He bought a house and has been living his dream, fishing, hunting and snowboarding. Hope you enjoy the video, let us know your thoughts on the new rig and the problems that we encounter.
  3. We do a walk through of the Keystone Carbon 364 Toy Hauler (38' 3 slides). This is pretty significant for us because we have been looking into a new rig for awhile. There have been a few issues that have been adding up with our 2015 Keystone Cougar 313 ril and we thought our stay in our home town of Simi Valley would be a great time to take a look at new rigs. Here's a list of the issues we are having with our current rig. 1. Separate office space. 2. on board generator. 3. Fresh water capacity. 4. Good storage area for our bikes. 5. A place for quests to stay when visiting. 6.Being able to easily walk around the bed. There are a few others things that we have considered also, this is just a walk through. When RVing full-time smaller problems often seem as larger ones, so we figured we should address them as soon as possible. Also buying your first rig is extremely stressful and you can never find everything you want. Hope you enjoy the video!

  8. 2004 keystone cougar. Just recently our water pressure has been super low, hardly existent. We thought maybe it was frozen pipes, but we disconnected the pipe that goes into our 5th wheel and water came spurting out. When we turn the faucet on theres a quick spurt like we have good water pressure, then it goes to hardly coming out. We havent done anything differently. The only thing I can think of is I was moving stuff around in the under carriage and moved something up against the small tubes underneath. But I'm pretty sure the parts of the tubes it brushed against weren't valves that managed the pressure. What could be wrong and where is all the water going that's coming from the hose connection?
  9. Hi, we are thinking of downsizing from a 5th wheel to a short Class A or Class C. I was wondering do people actually trade rigs or should we plan on trading at a dealership? We have a 2008 Sunnybrook Titan 33CK-TS in great condition but my husband is physically disabled and is no longer comfortable setting up the rig. We no longer full time and rent a home. We would still like to travel and think a small motorhome would be perfect. Any opinions or thoughts? Has anyone gone through this dilemma?
  10. Is anyone in this group living full-time in a Toy Hauler? My wife and I have just started the planning to move to full-time in about a year. we are looking at trailers, and trucks to pull. Looking for some like minded people with experience to have conversations with on what they wished they knew before they sold the house and pulled out. Our goal is to full time for a year, looking for a new place to set down roots, then buy a new piece of property as a home base. We are looking at "Fuzion", but interested in peoples experiences with other brands as well. What do you wish you knew before you started.?
  11. Hi Everyone, I was curious what makes a trailer ' High End ' besides the cost. I am open to all comments. Positive or negative. How long in years does a high end trailer last ? More questions will come later. I choose this section because I was hoping to get the most comments as possible. Thank you for any input, Al

  17. We're thinking of a new 5th Wheel to replace our Carriage Cameo. It was heavy but I tow it with a Chevy 2500HD Duramax. We were looking to step up to a Mobile Suiites, but the weights are looking like I'm in CDL territory (at least in CT, our present locale). Anyone know of state where we could tow such a rig, with a Duelly with no CDL?

We just had the 5th Wheel into the dealer for its routine maintenance check-up, and to have it winterized. We are the second owners, and we bought it from our friends/neighbors who barely used it as they had two other RV's in addition to this one (a brand new Forest River FR3 and a brand new Mini Winnie). Diamond Package: Upgraded Decorative Slide Out Fascia Upgraded cabinetry Hardware - Cherry Woodwork Upgraded Air Hide-A-Bed "Tufted" Sofa w/ Storage Solid Surface Corian Counter Tops in Kitchen and Living Room Laminated Taupe Color Fiberglass Sidewalls w/ High Gloss Finish & Color Keyed Roof Shielded Awning Covers Tinted Bonded Frameless Windows Slam Latches on Most Exterior Storage Doors Additional Features: Fireplace w/ Remote Control Serta Queen Size Mattress Outside Grill Outside Shower La-z-Boy Recliners Power Stabilizers Two Large Power Awnings w/ LED Lighting AM/FM/CD/DVD/mp3/MP4 Bluetooth Surround Sound System w/ Bedroom & Outdoor Speakers TV Hook-Up in Bedroom LED Lighting 3 Slides Cover Ceiling Fan Heated Holding Tanks Black Water Flush Also Includes: Septic Hoses & Equipment All Owners Manuals We also just put in over $10,000 worth of upgrades this summer when we first got the 5th Wheel. We are not real fond of the standard RV decor that every RV manufacturer uses, and since we have a home decorating store, plus we have been in the design industry for many years, we could not wait to redecorate this 5th Wheel! It has been done in a 'vintage camping' theme. New Decor/Upgrades: Copper Ceiling (faux) Custom Wallpaper (I had it custom made from New Zealand - it is also 100% removable and reusable) 4 New Dinette Chairs & 2 New Barstools (Original 8 Chairs Available Also, If Wanted) Tile Backsplashes in Kitchen & Bath (Faux tile, but textured so that it looks real, not like stickers) New Window Treatments New Blind Above Kitchen Stove - Rest of windows have Day/Night Shades Ceramic Tile around Fireplace Tin Inserts on Kitchen Island Base Upper Cabinet Doors New Inserts Vintage Coleman Lanterns above Island (can be easily taken down/put back up during traveling) Black Leather Recliners and Sofa New LVT Wood Flooring (to be installed still) Comes with many extra decor items including pictures Brand New 4-Piece Dinnerware Set, and many other extras! This 5th Wheel has our favorite layout, and we have looked at lots of RV's! The TV and Fireplace location leave room for PLENTY of windows, and the living room/kitchen area has a really nice homey feel to it. Everything feels like it is in the right spot, and the layout makes it feel open, with the kitchen/living room set up so that you aren't sitting on your couch IN your kitchen, or half in half out. It's extremely comfortable and easy to entertain guests in! It won't let me upload pictures, but you can go to https://2014forestriver8528ikws.shutterfly.com/pictures/8 to see photos, or call/text 320-630-7384 for more info.

  22. We've come a long way baby, but we still have a ways to go! After going to the Pamona, CA RV show in mid-October for 3 mind-numbing days, doing a plethora of research and more planned, AND traveling to 4 RV dealers in Arizona and California yesterday and today, we have narrowed our search for our 1st 5th wheel to 3. The Montana 3720; the Solitude 384 GK, and the VanLeigh Vinlano 365RL. We have done more research on the Montana and the Solitude since the Vilano just appeared on our radar as one to look at within the last week. We know the history of the Vilano, we know it just came out in 2015 so is relatively new. I'm guessing there won't be a lot of research out there so I'm hoping someone here has one or knows someone who does. We are choosing these 3 as our finals as they have many of the features we want. So now, I'm asking for any feedback you want to send my way! Thanks in advance! Nomad Hikers
  23. Still a year away from take off. After looking at trailers and deciding the approximate size and weight that we would want to tow, we used that information to select our tow vehicle, a 2016 Chevy Siliverado 4WD Flex Fuel 4.10 Standard Bed which tows up to 13k conventional and 14k 5th wheel. I will be spending some time at a local hitch place checking out options but I would appreciate hearing from those of you who tow both types of hitches. Right now I am feeling "long" with just the truck, before adding a trailer. We won't be getting a trailer until probably early spring next year so we have time to research and figure out what setup is right for us to fulltime with. We would like a trailer 25 foot or less in size, nothing larger. - I know the 5th will shorten the overall trailer plus hitch length. - I know a conventional hitch will give me full access to the entire bed for storage and make our life easier. We have a locking cover for the truck bed and put in a floor and tailgate liner (did not go up the sides as that was $300 more plus tax and we are saving for our trailer). If we feel we can handle whatever length we would end up with, we would prefer to go with the conventional. If it's "too long' (FOR US - I know some of you can drive very long things and are quite comfortable with that but we are not) we would have to go with the 5th. Questions: 1.How much storage space would we have for storage in the truck bed (6' 6" bed) if we had the 5th wheel hitch in the bed? 2. For those of you who have towed with both - what is your advice? 3. For anyone towing with a conventional hitch, are you comfortable with that setup and how long is your trailer? Thanks to anyone taking the time to answer. Christine
  24. We are in the process of purchasing land in order to keep residency in TN when we sell the house and go fulltime next year. There is a 5th wheeler on the property that was left who knows when. The current owners we are buying from are leaving it. We want it gone however don't know of someone might want to restore it. We haven't seen the inside and cannot tell from the outside what brand is the rv. Was wondering if anyone recognizes this rv?
  25. Any ideas of where to advertise my trailer? At 53' long and 27,500#s dry it should be towed by a HDT.
