  5. I just posted a blog about us having generator issues in our used 1994 Fleetwood Flair. The Onan 4000 (picture attached) worked when we first purchased the RV, so we know it's capable of working. The first time we visited the RV in storage one week later, the generator also still worked. But by the second visit, a mere two weeks into purchasing the RV, the generator would not sustain. Even as we let the motpr run and charged our batteries, the generator would still not remain on. We tweaked what we could on the generator and tried starting it from the outside as well as the inside but no luck. There are usually a few bangs as if the generator is beginning to turn, but it never sustains. Any tips on easy things to check before taking it in to be serviced? Any advice helps. Thanks!
  6. We have a 1999 Holiday Rambler Class A motorhome for sale. It is in very nice shape and clean for its age. We have been traveling around the country in it fulltime and have always kept it nice as it was our home! We were so sad to find out recently that it needs engine work. It is currently running, but making a knocking sound and will need a replacement engine. Because it is in such great condition,it would be a great investment for a handy person to fix and use or sell. Or it could be driven to a campground or mobile home park to be lived in as is. A great inexpensive house that has everything you need. We have put a lot into this coach like a new fridge, tires, coach batteries, inverter and much more. Upgraded flat screen TV and DVD in living room. This is a nice quality coach with tons of storage space. It has an Onan 5500 generator, a large patio awning and three window awnings to keep you cool. 2 roof ac units, a furnace, roof antenna so you can get channels without cable if need be. Queen size bed, pull out sofa and a table that can convert to a bed. Aluminum roof, very well made. Please call for more details about the motorhome. We have lots of pictures we can send you. Asking $9,995. located in Connecticut

  8. Let’s play a little game. To play all you have to do is reply to this post and answer all the questions below. The real reason, is many people in the past have requested information on tires for various Diesel Pushers. However, sometimes when a reply is submitted there is little or no information related to the purchase of the tires. Note I am hoping to keep this related to rigs 40Ft and over please. If you wish to add other rigs, please include your make, model and length please. Thank you very much for your support. 10. 2008 Holiday Rambler Endeavor 40SFT Custom $142,900 Located in Buckhannon, WV but willing to deliver depending on distance. This Coach is as roadworthy as they come. watch the youtube video here: watch the slide-outs, awnings, hideaway TV, and other amenities in action. photo album here: http://imgur.com/a/GeoTW For any additional questions call or text 301-302-1753 or email RamblerSFT@gmail.com We lived in her for the first 4 years of her life. The coach has never been winterized. It has been heated every winter. The maintenance has been kept up (including a Cummins engine programming recall and a Brake Pedal modification recall and the Norcold refrigerator recall) with a log documenting date, mileage and what was completed. The coach is ready to hit the road. THE CUSTOMIZATIONS AV Cooling Fans. (see pictures) The manufacturer did not anticipate the heat generated by a satellite receiver and home theater system in the same cabinet in warmer climates. We experienced a high temperature shutdown of the satellite receiver while in Las Vegas. The Cooling fans were a must. Cable and Hose Storage Shelf (see pictures) in basement storage compartment Hideaway 42" Visio HD TV (see pictures) Remote controlled tv lift mechanism. You can look straight ahead to watch TV. No more straining your neck to the side to look up at the TV. Can be watched by passengers while traveling. Remote Controlled Electric Fireplace (see pictures and video) Variable flame brightness and frequency including 2 level electric heat. Saves on propane when temperatures aren't too cold. Built in Computer Desk (see pictures) Remote Controlled Sony Home Theater System Remote Controlled HD Switch controlling up to four inputs (currently 2-sat tv and home theater system) and two outputs (32" HD TV and 42" HD TV). The same programming can be viewed on both TV's simultaneously or either input can be viewed on either tv with the other input viewed on the other tv simultaneously. Outside shower (see picture) changed to residential faucet with quick disconnect to attach a hose of any length to the shower head. Ideal for washing pets as well. Fishing Pole Storage (see picture) for up to 7 poles in the ceiling of the basement storage area. Keeps rods and reels from being damaged by items stowed in basement storage areas. Spare Tire. Road service is quick but if you need a tire on a holiday or Sunday while your stranded on the highway, you might wait a day until a store is open for road service to pick up a new tire. KVH In Motion Satellite System w/Dual LnB Inputs is ideal for DVR receiver. Unified Tow Brake Controller will remain installed in the coach. A single Universal Remote with a "learn" feature for about $15 can be programmed to control Sat Receiver, Home Theater System, Both TV's, HD Switch, TV Lift, and Electric Fireplace. We used a SONY universal remote for all components. GENERAL INFORMATION No accidents or fender benders Non Smoker Generator run hours: 843 The small matching couch that was removed for the hideaway TV/Fireplace/desk installation is available and will go with the coach if the successful bidder wants it. The House/Coach Batteries were all replaced less than a year ago. No signs of wear on either couch. They were kept covered. Two of the three slide out toppers have been replaced. The third slide out topper replacement is included for when it needs replacing. All of the penetrations to the fiberglass roof were totally resealed (as a matter of preventive maintenance) and the sealing tape was replaced. The roof ladder extension is in the coach. The heat pumps will heat with the outside temperature down to about 28F. The Dashboard and the Pilot/Copilot chairs are in near perfect condition with no signs of wear nor is there any scratches or tears as they have remained covered/protected. The corian countertops/dining table/bathroom vanity and bedroom dresser tops were refinished/polished last summer. The Aluminum Wheels shine but I haven't had a chance to polish this years mirror finish onto the surface. The exterior fiberglass sidewalls still shine and reflect like a mirror when washed. I have kept the coach waxed since it was delivered from the factory. FACTORY STICKER HOLIDAY RAMBLER A Division of Monaco Coach Corporation 606 Nelson's ParkwayP.O. 11. SOLD-For Sale in Ballston Spa, NY is an excellent condition 2002 Fleetwood Bounder Motorhome Class A Model 31W, 32’ on a Ford 2001 chassis, Ford Triton V10, 39,000 Miles. Many options and upgrades were included at original purchase. Two slides; full size for living room and bedroom. Meticulously maintained, always polished and waxed twice a year; beginning of season and end. Always covered or garaged when not in use. All 6 tires replaced new in 2013 with only 2,000 miles. Brakes and calipers replaced at same service. All scheduled maintenance completed at manufacturers suggested intervals. Oil changed every 3,000 miles and/or beginning and end of season with Mobile 1 synthetic. Oil has not been changed yet for this season but I’d be happy to change it before she leaves for further adventures if you buy the oil and filter. Engine runs extremely well and smooth and consistently gets at least 11 MPG (towing). TPO roof is in good condition; no tears or damage. Looks great and still white but I would plan to recoat within a year or two for preventative maintenance. Transmission shifts perfectly and strong with no hiccups. Transmission service and fluid flush completed spring 2014. Everything works the way it should, and in some cases like it’s brand new. Both slides outs work perfectly as do the Hydraulic levelers; fluid replaced in 2014. All appliances operate as expected and without issue. Awning replaced in 2012 and in great condition. Furniture is in excellent condition. This has been a wonderful coach to us and it breaks my heart to have to sell it, but due to circumstances we can no longer afford the time away for the foreseeable future. Folks, for a 2002 this is an unbelievable Class A and I have not seen it’s equal. We always get compliments everywhere we go and folks often comment that they cannot believe it’s a 2002. The Bounder needs nothing and comes complete with the following: Lockable Safe, 30 Amp Service, 34,000 BTU Furnace, Dual Roof Ducted A/C (13,500/11,000 BTU) with Solar Panel, Dometic Royale Multi-Operation Automatic Refrigerator, Convection Microwave, 10 Gallon Quick Recovery Gas/Electric Water Heater, 22” 3-Burner Cooktop with Oven, Rear Speakers in Bedroom, Electronic Climate Control (ECC) with 5.5kW Onan Generator Upgrade, Upgraded Cherry Cabinetry, Sofa Pull-Out Sleeper, Torque Windows in Bedroom, Upgraded Recliner Chair, Two Televisions, Dash Fans, CB Radio, Good Sam RV GPS, XM Satellite Radio, DSS Manual Lift/Wingard Satellite Dish, Two Smoke Detectors, Carbon Monoxide Detector, LPG Detector, Rear Vision Back-Up Camera, Full Size Spare Tire, Outside Shower, Flexsteel Leather Captains Chairs, Small Kangaroo Bounder Stuffed Animal. Have all original manuals and keys to everything. I’m sure there are a few other things I’m forgetting. Feel free to contact me for additional photos and/or information. $28,800. Please give her a good home.

  13. Ascension Parish-- Earlier this morning, Louisiana State Troopers from Troop A were dispatched to an overturned motorhome on Interstate 10 east of US 61 in Ascension Parish. Crash scene investigators determined the motorhome was westbound on Interstate 10 in the left lane. The motorhome sustained a tire failure and entered the center median, where it then impacted the cable barriers. After impacting the cable barriers, the motorhome overturned and slid on its side across both eastbound lanes. The driver, 69 year old Royce Denmon of Kilgore, Texas and his passenger suffered minor injuries in the crash. A witness to the crash, 30 year old Jonathan Mendel of Metairie, Louisiana was operating an 18 wheeler westbound on Interstate 10 and captured the entire crash sequence with his dashboard camera. Mr. Mendel was also able to safely pull his vehicle onto the right shoulder and call 911. As you watch the video of this crash, please take note of how quickly a crash can occur. Think if you were in the eastbound travel lanes. What evasive maneuvers, if any would you have been able to take? Also, think about the consequences of not wearing a seatbelt or distracted driving. While not a factor in this crash, imagine what would have occurred had all parties been preoccupied with various distractions. Finally, check out the amazing engineering that went into the cable barrier system along the Interstate Systems in Louisiana. While not designed for heavy articulated vehicles like a motorhome, the system was able to redirect a vehicle weighing over 20,000 pounds. I posted the video on my Facebook page. Motor safely my friends. https://www.facebook.com/pages/RV-Road-Riders/1380946298887036

  16. When the subject of selecting a domicile for a full time RV lifestyle comes up the states of Florida, Texas and South Dakota are mentioned. I'd like to make a case for the state of Washington. Located in the far NW corner of the USA, Washington is divided almost in two by the Cascade Mountains and this gives the state two very different climate areas. In general, the west side of the state is wetter and the east side of the state is dryer. This, by no means, describes it all as there are also mountains on the eastern side (to the north). Walla Walla, in the far SE corner of the state, remains warmer in winter due to its location on the Snake River and relatively low elevation. When I say that the western side is "wetter" that is a general term. Seattle, for instance, gets less annual rainfall than Washington, D.C.; as well as virtually every other city on the eastern seaboard (between 40 and 50 inches on average). And even the much wetter areas of the state (the Olympic Peninsula, for example) are far less wet during the summer than during the fall, winter and spring. In fact, during the summer WA - even the western side - is pretty sunny and comfortable. But Seattle leads US cities above 250,000 population for rainfall in November. Of course, by November you'll be somewhere sunny, won't you? This means that, in addition to the tax benefits you'll get by domiciling in WA, the state is actually a comfortable place to live during the summer; the time when SD, FL and TX are not very comfortable for living. And it's not all that bad in the winter, either. At least on the west side of the mtns. Just as an example, last weekend the high in Long Beach, WA was 58F and the low was 54F and that is not at all unusual for even the winter over there. So it is not at all inconceivable that you can winter in WA if you need to without an RV especially configured for cold weather if you need to for medical or family reasons. WA also has an abundance of RV parks including state, county and municipal parks that remain open even in the winter (although most will offer only electricity). Not to mention a goodly assortment of Thousand Trails campgrounds and some other membership campgrounds (more on those later). So now, what about tax advantages? 1. No state income tax. 2. About average state sales tax (8% or less depending upon community). 3. Relatively low yearly licensing fees. Our motor home, a DP, is $90 a year and all of our cars, SUVs and one pickup are about $40 a year. Electricity rates vary between areas but average under 9-cents per kwH. However, where we live, electricity rates are 4-cents per killwatthour! The counties of Grant (Moses Lake), Chelan (Wenatchee) and Douglas (across the Columbia River from Wenatchee) all own and control dams which offset residential power costs. Even though these 3 counties are on the eastern side of the Cascades - with more sun and more hot weather in the summer - you can afford to use your air conditioners. And since the night time temperatures everywhere in the state go down at night you can sleep well with the a/c off and the windows open. Vehicle inspections are not required for most counties in the state. The highly populated counties on the eastern side of Puget Sound do require them (basically, Seattle, Olympia and Everett). The SKP Co-Op park (Evergreen COHO) is located in a county that does not require them, by the way. Health facilities are excellent with the University of Washington medical center as well as the world-famous Hutchison cancer center located in Seattle. For a "home-base" situation, even though real estate in populated areas can be expensive, property in rural areas can be quite inexpensive. And there are at least two major Camping Clubs (in addition to the SKP park) where you can buy a lot with the right to live on it for six months a year. One of these is Port Susan Camping Club (https://portsusancamping.org/) and the other is Lake Connor Park (http://www.lakeconnorpark.net/). Both are located about 30 to 40 miles north of Seattle and both have memberships for sale (along with a site) for as little as $1500 (Port Susan) and $5,000 (Lake Connor). There are yearly fees associated with these sites and a time limit for access (usually six months). The only real drawback to FT domicile in WA is the driver's license issue. WA wants a street address (not a mail drop address) and will ask for proof in the form of a utility bill, etc. However, I know that there are WA residents who live on islands in the San Juans and who do not have a street address yet get driver's licenses so there is some sort of accommodation there. It might be possible to use a camping club address (since both Port Susan and Lake Connor Park offer mail forwarding). In 2010 there was a change in the law to allow people who have valid social security cards to not be required to show proof of actual residency. This might not be in effect however. So, if the driver's license issue can be solved, I think that the case for using WA as an official domicile for full-time RVers can be made effectively. Plus the state makes an excellent place to survive the summer when many RVers look for a cooler location than their winter haunts. WDR

    Triple E

Is anyone out there familiar with Triple E Calss A's. It seems like they are only building B's and C's now from their website. Any idea why they quit A's? Did they have a good reputation? Should there be any problem importing to the US?
