  1. I have often had to somehow support the hose in such a way that the weight of it with water does not cause just enough of center strain to cause the joint to leak. In some rare cases I have used a double washer or a different type of washer. Not discounting Dutch's recommendation but in my case I had trouble with the quick connect type and went back to standard type connectors for me. I like the idea of the quick disconnects. Sometimes your situation may vary a little. I have used and am currently using one of the Y type connectors with the ball valve shut off backwards so I have a water connect on that side of the trailer when I need one without disconnecting the fresh water to the trailer.
  2. I think this is good but funny-stupid. I think there is no true need to be open on Thanksgiving but funny-stupid since when he says "from now on" it really only means until a future CEO decides to open on Thanksgiving but hey, it makes this one look good and Target look good to a lot of people except maybe those that need to buy something important that day or maybe pick up a perscription or baby bottle. A little bit facetious on me to look at it this way.
  3. Was true north and magnetic north Ever at the same point?
  4. Good info for me as I may be using that for the first time soon.
  5. Do you mean vet as in veteran or veternarian? I am assuming veteran.
  6. I wish I had an answer but I do wonder if this is the best thread to post it on to get it seen by the most people. Hopefully one of the moderators will see it and move it if that is the case. You might PM one and ask them to look at it. Possibly Kirk.
  7. There are exceptions but I would say if a person is TX resident by " domicile" at Rainbows End they have a duty to pay attention in many issues beyond national elections. I can understand school board and few others but something like the Constitution is a no brainer for me. Until you are a full time resident of another state you have a responsibility to Texas. Just because you travel extensively does not negate that. Many of us will settle down in Texas eventually. That is my plan. And in my case I have been a Texas resident since I was age 5 and graduated high school about an hour from Livingston. I would see it the same way if I was a resident of another state. In my case I am not a "play" Texan. I am very fed up with our so called leaders trying to subvert peoples right to vote. No question there is an agenda out there.
  8. rv, glad to hear the medical part of your last post here. I was actually going to ask about something else when I noticed that part. My other question was just sort of nosey. Were you able to use the TSP program and if so did you? I did the best I could but when I was put into medical retirement I could not contribute any longer but could leave what I had in the program there. I am happy-ish with it but because of the medical issues I pretty much played it very safe. What has been good is I was able to never siphon off any off the money until I hit the age that required minimum distribution (RMD). I do wish I had converted a lot of it or all of it to the Roth but I have to say I did not at all expect to live this long. (74 on Oct. 8.) Fooled them all and me too. Now I am trying to decide if I should participate in the Annuity choice. With the interest rates so low, I lean toward no as long as I have my minimal wits about me. I am concerned about I need to go in to assisted care of some kind having to deal with the spend down.
  9. Which camping world location are you going to?
  10. Linda do you think your friends will list them on escapees rv sales thread. I am particulary interested in Arctic fox 29L depending of course on all the qualifiers of location, condition, and price. I would consider a 5th wheel.
  11. Ultimately it is our responsibility to be aware but like you I got busy and by the time I checked it was basically to late to request AND receive an absentee ballot. I could have applied in time using a fax but with the mail slowdown I could not get it back in time. I consider driving but it would be about 1500 miles round trip. I hate to miss a vote. I won't elaborate on my view that at the current time it is designed to make it more difficult. It is not Escapees responsibility to notify us but I think I remember that at one time they did remind us. I sure would appreciate it if they would do that in the future. Years ago I was volunteering near Dallas and missed the deadline for absentee voting so I drove down to vote in person. I should have looked more closely as it turns out for that election there was nothing to vote on for Polk County residents.😒🙄🙃 Thats on me.
  12. Just for a matter of thought. I have a large gap between my 2 upper front teeth kind of like Micheal Strahan on Good Morning America. As much as I try not to by keeping distance and facing slightly to one side or the other I occaisionally have some spit get loose. Would you prefer to have me wear even the cheapest piece of cloth or netting or stand face to face and let what ever happens take place. Especially if I was infectious with anything and did not know it. Just an example and your choice. I do agree that a quality mask is the best choice. No question or debate about that.
  13. I am fairly certain Vilano is a model of Vanleigh which is or was a Tiffin product. So maybe there will be a good outcome.
  14. I know a lot of places have a place you can stay on property but some places don't have that option due to different local regulations. I don't know what type of failure your tank had but it is hard to understand how it is so complicated that even the entire tank cannot be replaced in that time frame unless it has something to do with a warranty approval. I have had 2 tank issues on 2 different trailers. The first one was over 20 years old and I was able to repair it with epoxy. In that case I stayed in a state park with toilets and showers and got a spot as close to the restroom as possible. The hard part was to get it dried out enough to use the type of epoxy I used. On the second rv I had damage due to a road aligator. (truck tire tread) That one I hired a local plastic tank welder that came out and did it in place. That was pretty severe damage and I did not think it would work but he knew what he was doing and I have not had another problem. I don't know about the folks working on yours but it doesn't sound like they are being very diligent. In some cases a good independent mobile tech might work out better. Sure feel for your situation and hope you get it solved soon.
  15. Vlad, what an evil idea, (according to many) but I am seriously with you. You do know there are more records, right? So called " chicken littles" might be wrong or right. If I saw a tornado coming toward me I would try to do something to save myself not just stick my head in the sand and hope it wouldn't hit me. What have I got to lose by trying to save myself.
  16. In case I missed it has anyone covered spare tires for Tesla's, A friend here has one and he had a flat and does not have spare. Do all Tesla's not have a spare.
  17. Ray - RV sure hope your issues resolve well. I am thinking positive thoughts. I am also trying to remember to do what you did and not try to tough it out no matter what. Tough lesson for me but you guys are setting good examples.
  18. Group hugs work if it is a good group and they aren't too stinky.😀
  19. Really out of your way to Hot Springs, Alaska AK.😀 Aside from giving you grief about that I hope you are well and it turns out to be indigestion.
  20. and how about broadway joe's hand/ arm movements for emphasis.
  21. I may be wrong but I did not believe Dan was staying in the parking lot, just stopped to talk on the phone. I don't know if you are staying anywhere in that area for any length of time but I think I would consider relocating to another area as if something came of it they might remember your vehicle and target you if they considered you a possible witness. I don't want to sound like I am trying to scare you but do want to help you avoid any unnecessary problems. You might want to consider if there are any cameras. i can see doing civic duty for some things but at this point it sort of doesn't make a lot of since. I truly am thrilled you are ok.
  22. Frankly I went on a tangent because in trying to consider your situation I could not come up with a good answer and I still can't. 15-20 seconds is very short and an eternity some times. Maybe the most likely is to try not to be seen but you would also limit your ability to know what is happening so you might be able to take some evasive action, If my vehicle was running I would maybe consider using it as offensive or defensive weapon. I just know I would not have wanted to be in your position.
  23. OK, a part of this catches my attention. The old CCL and now RTC let us carry under a reciprical agreenment in other states. Now that the genius's running our state (Tx) have done away with any need for any license how do we have a reciprical agreement with another state? Really would like a true answer to that question.
  24. When I am at the desk at the Ranger Station lately when I answer Sandia Ranger Station, and I am now getting a lot of mostly foreign accented people trying to sell medicare advantage. One friday thought I said my name was Sandy and started their spiel. Of course a lot start of with please don't hang up. Also once i was a big fan of Joe Namath and Tom Selleck but now I am sick of them and wonder just how much money they need. Except for his Jepordy hosting I got sick of Alex Tribeck pushing the 9.99 plan.
