  1. Is anyone having a problem connecting through firefox? I am. It started 1st thing this morning.

Still having a problem this morning.  I forget what it was called but I went to some recommended step and was supposed to run  a test but the test would not run. Is there a chance if I uninstall firefox and reinstall that could resolve it if I can figure out how to do that.  Side note my laptop is an old one that started  as windows 7 but was updated to windows 10

I just woke enough to realize I should have posted this under computers but don't know how to move it so if any moderators can please do.

  2. I can't say how happy I am for you guys. Its a  real blessing in most cases to see this. I certainly am not jealous but at least sometimes am a little envious of couples that have done well together and gone the distance. And more to come I pray.

  3. In years past most of the SKP parks I stayed at charged by usage based on the meter at your site. I liked that. I had a smaller rig with some solar and one person.  I don't know if any skp parks still charge for what you use but I sure felt like I was subsidizing the larger rigs with multiple people and a washer and dryer and who knows what else when staying at a flat rate park. I don't begrudge anyone having what they want but it sure does not seem fair with a flat rate for a site be it 30a or 50a.  I don't mean to single out skp parks as every commercial park, COE park, state pk. etc did the same.

  4. No where even close but what about the island off Maryland that has wild horses. Chincoteague island. Famous book about them "Misty of Chincoteague" by Marguerite Henry.  Also they have wild horse in the Flint Hills of Kansas.  Someone talked about that some years back. Maybe Kirk.  Just no. of Albq. in the community of Placitas there is at least one herd  that may be seen fairly often by local people. I have seen them about 3-4 times in about 25 years. Usually in the middle or on the side of the main road.  Those are some really healthy looking horses. I highly suspect they are being fed pretty often by locals and maybe even receiving health care in some cases.

  5. May not be relevant to your question but I have had coachnet for my TT for more years than I can remember.  I have had 2 tows and a tire change, plus 1 lock out door opening on my truck. None of them went as smooth as advertised but the outcome was always satisfactory so I am happy. I hope this was a little useful.

Jim sorry you are having vision issues. I hope they are not permanent and can be remediated or recovered from. Keep me posted bud.

I don't think it is a critical issue at this time and is a little intermitent. I have an appointment at the end the month. The worst is reading at times but it is hard not to worry a little. I do trifocals and they have always been troublesome. I never had much problem when it was just bifocals. It may even be cataracs getting worse.  I do have glaucoma also but seems to be in control with drops.

  7. Some business's are more benevolent towards their customer/ members than others. I have been a member of Escapees for over 25 years. (just got a 25 year pin) I have not participated in nearly as many events as many due to my circumstances and choices but have felt like I have been treated well and benefited well from our association. Not to say there has not been a few things I did not agree with or wish something was done  differently but my if all  goes on as it has in  general I set a goal to get a 50 year pin.  (severe optimism)

  8. I believe there are a lot of really truly special people in Texas but then there are plenty that think and act like they are but are far from it.  I guess I should add a smiley face here but I can't bring myself to do it.  How about if I say I think Joe and Kay Peterson were true special Texans.  That's so good it might even call for an AMEN they really set a good example of how to be special.

  9. I have dealt with 2 that stuck to their guns on age. Once back in 1998. The most recent about 2years ago. I had stayed at the 2nd one many times but it changed hands and went to a six year rule no exceptions even thought the new manager advocated for me based on the picture I sent.

  10. ANothing is all 100% one way or the other in my opinion.  I have been in a couple of developed campground that have had the occasional issue with the homeless but nothing too overwhelming in most cases. One I volunteered at is a NP campground near DC and  a few time homeless or mentally challenged were dumped in the campground.  We had one instance with an unstable man with just pants on attempted to enter a tent of 2 females. We had police presence at the front of the park at distance at the front of the park but they blew me off when 1st reported him before he had done anything but when the campers called in they responded immediately.

Where I am now there are sometimes issues with the homeless but we are a NF right up against Albuquerque NM.

As far as getting political I know we sometime go astray. I know I have been warned a few times with my big mouth but I wouldn't want to be the one having to police us about it even if I don't always agree with their decision.  I can't even be in charge of myself  much less all of us old coots. 🙃

  11. I am sure you have thought of this but if they are open pretty early that is the time to hit it. If there is any way to put out a cheap local ad in something like a penny saver or shopper news or maybe even a local craigslist you might find an individual that would do it at a reasonable cost in their home.  I remember it used to be somewhat common for housewives to take in washing and ironing to pick up a little extra money.  I have not seen this for years of course but I have not paid much attention.  I even lived in 2 different boarding houses. They used to be somewhat common in some areas. One had some single or shared rooms and even one "bunk" room with eight beds with lockers. Worked pretty good and at least gave the folks somewhere clean and safe to sleep at an affordable cost.  You did need to be able to ignore snoring and a few other things but I had to do that in the barracks in the Marine Corps and the Air Force.

  12. I have said it before, Coach net is not always smooth but the outcome has been good and that is what counts based on my experience.  I remained calm in all cases even with some aggravation by remembering I may be dealing with a newer or more inexperienced "dispatcher ?" and they can not  control what resources are available at any given time. I will be sticking with them for the for the future.
