  1. Escapees Boot Camp 2-4 February, so yes North Ranch will be crowded for that short time. Suspect there are available sites if you head up here. Safe Travels.
  2. Hey Rick and Susan, How close to Wickenburg? We (and The Brett's, Haagsma's, and Johnston's, Penner's and a couple of HDT Lot Owners are in Escapees North Ranch, Congress. (12 miles from W)
  3. WOW, God Bless Them! That is wonderful to still have your folks on the farm. We (Raymond and I) will arrive Bellingham RV Park 8 September for a week. IF you need some help, I'd love to come out and help. We are currently in Tok, Alaska and will begin heading South tomorrow. Still hoping to catch the Aurora Borealis the next couple of nights before we get down to some serious moving South. LOL My personal email is: Jags1fan@gmail.com Let me know if you want some free help.
  4. Raymond and I are about 40 miles South of Duluth, MN, for an undetermined length of time. Waiting on a new Dometic AC to arrive and on a 2 weeks wait list for Service of a few other things. Having fun exploring this area! Got our $3 parking pass so we don't get in trouble when we go Agate hunting. LOL Duluthboats.com give all of the arrival and departure times of the HUGE ships that come in to Ports @ Duluth, MN, Superior, WI, and Two Harbors, MN....and that's always interesting. Weather is mid 70s and low 50s at night. We, too, have pretty much decided to stay in the USA the rest of the Summer (instead of going back to finish exploring Canada). But, now, we are thinking of hanging around Lake Superior and over toward Upper Peninsula of MI before we head West for the Winter. BOOKED at Cherry Creek State Park so we can spend time with our daughter 14-27 September. LONG overdue visit. Safe Travels to all.
  5. Raymond and I are @ Stillwater Park Campground (www.stillwater.ca), Nipigon, Ontario. Just an overnight here, but FHU hookups plus WiFi that zooms. We left Bill and Joan Richard's KOA this morning- what a wonderful week we spent there and enjoyed Sault Ste Marie, ON. Heading to Thunder Bay, ON tomorrow for 3 nights. LOTS to see and do there. Safe Travels everyone!
  6. Sharon, Yes St Mary/East Glacier is beautiful. The snow capped mountains are so pretty! We leave Sunday for Calgary. No, we haven't been able to hike any of the trails off Many Glacier Road. ALL trails and even meadows leading to the St Marys River, etc are closed. TOO much bear activity all over. As we continue to push the season everywhere (which has been GREAT....except a little "okay a LOT" cold for Raymond; we are seeing some increased number of animals. At least that what's the locals tell us. This weekend starts "the season through Labor Day Weekend" and as soon as the tourist/cars arrive all of the animals will head farther up the mountains. So, we've stayed and done lots of driving and pulling off to take photo's, etc. Hoping to arrive Anchorage 17 June. Mayor's Midnight Run is 21 June! Take care. Keep in touch. For everyone moving around this summer - Safe Travels!
  7. Trey and Susan - Glad to see you posting here. We are in Glasgow, MT --- OH MY GOODNESS ---- we found a hotel with a RV park (Good Sam) in the back...sitting on the side of a plateau. Cottonwood Inn and Suites. Pull thurs are minimum of 80' and 50amp. AND you have access to their pool/hottub/workoutroom/etc. Walking distance to Ace Hardware, a local Grocery Store, Quilt Shop..... REALLY cute. 350 miles tomorrow to St Mary, MT - edge of Glacier NP....for 5 nights (atleast). What a wonderful drive across the US from St Ignace, Michigan on US2 West. It's a good road, plenty of places to stay, etc. No real traffic to speak of until we got near the oilfields in ND. Williston, ND - busy place - lots of construction - don't anyone plan to overnight there!!!! (unless you have business there). LOL Hugs to you all. Janet
  8. Raymond and I are making our way across the US - 2000 miles ago we left Jacksonville (16 March). US2 is a wonderful way to travel. Currently in Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota. Minot, ND tomorrow night. Glasgow, MT Friday night and 5 nights at St Mary, MT- at the edge of Glacier NP. Then we head North to Calgary - to get a Drom Box and off to the Yukon and Alaska for the summer. What fun being on the road! http://forksinthervroad.com if you'd like to follow our adventure. And, Ladies, be sure to send recipes to my email (Jags1fan@gmail.com) as you find them.
  9. Jim - WOW that's wonderful. Raymond did the boot camp a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Have fun! Hope someone has told you to get the $1 Noodles from the dollar store....make a slit on one side and pop them on that bedroom slide to protect future encounters! Where are you headed from Goshen? Janet
  10. Thanks, Ralf and Laurie. Even though we seem to be chasing cold weather. ..we are having a blast. US Route 2 is a beautiful road. Hope Y'all are doing well. Hi to Kevin too.
  11. And we missed you being here, Sharon! Great time! All but about 6 rigs left and we'll all be leaving at varying times over the next week. Lots of updates here, and now that the weather is cooperating Kim does have plans to build a Pavilion on this side of the park. Pictures will be posted soon by Donna/Carl. Gregg Shields posted East Coast HDT Rally 2014 Aerial I think there were 21 Rigs here...with 26 attending - all cabins filled + lots of newcomers. Still planning on being in BV for the 2014 Color Run. We'll keep you posted if anything changes!
  12. Raymond retired 7 March 2014. We both ran/walk the 2014 Gate River Run (15K) in Jacksonville, FL on 15 March. Loaded the Smart that afternoon and exited Jax Sunday 16 March. Went near Knoxville to visit Carl/Donna Wagner and have new tires on all wheels. YAY! What a wonderful time staying with Donna and Carl. Checked into Deer Run RV Resort, Crossville, TN 18 March and plan to exit here 16 April. This is a beautiful resort and Kim has finished some great upgrades. Safe Travels, Everyone!
  13. Heidi, That is good news about DH's Mom. Raymond and I arrived Crossville 18 March. Even though it's been quite cold it's still a beautiful place. Gail and Steve Dixon arrived the 23rd. Last thing I heard there are 25 registered for the ECR. Safe Travels to your family and everyone! See y'all soon.
  14. Heidi - so glad to hear how Robert's Mom is continuing to improve. Sharon - will be praying for your Uncle.
  15. Heidi, So sorry to heard about Robert's Mom and Dad. Prayers have begun for you all. Janet
  16. I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season and will have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a Happy New Year! We are in transition. House sold in 3 days, but 24 hrs before closing the lender pulled their funding to the buyer! Immediately back on market and showings galore, another contract 6 days later. We are hopeful around the end of January we will get to the closing table and be done with that. In the meantime, we moved some items (way too many) to our home base in Oak Hill, FL. The Rig was moved to Yukon RV Park, Jacksonville, FL and Raymond has a 2.1 miles commute to work for the duration. 8 March 14 Retirement Date! As soon as I can get some boxes unpacked, sorted, etc I'll be in Jax with him. In the meantime, we are getting done what we need done! Looking forward to our FL exit 16 March 2014. First stop a month in Crossville, TN and the ECR 2014. Safe travels to all. Janet
  17. Thanks for the update, Davena! So nice to hear where everyone is. I've been in Denver visiting our daughter since 28 October. She gets to come to FL, so the return to FL begin 18 November with she/I doing a road trip. Hope to home 20 November and then the fun begins! House was listed 28 October and went under contract 1 November. Even though buyers are pre-approved - until all processing is done you just never know, but we are hopeful !!! Closing is scheduled for 16 December. Lots do to - moving a few pieces of furniture to home base in Oak Hill, FL; Salvation Army for some other pieces. RV will be moved to a small RV park across from JAX NAS where we will be until Jax exit date 16 March 2014. Davena - looking forward to getting together sometime before he 'head out on the highway'. Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas and safe travels to All.
  18. We are making progress and took a huge step yesterday with the listing of our Jax home. It will be officially on the market Monday - just in time for me to fly to Denver to spend 3 wonderful weeks with our daughter! I am sooo looking forward to a break and seeing her. We are moving our Rig to Jax this Saturday (from home base along the central coast of FL) - once we get a contract we will move to the RV for the remainder of Raymond's working days. 8 March 2014. We hope Raymond is rehabbed from his foot injury and running again in the 2014 Gate River Run 15 March and THEN we will pull out of Jax on 16 March 2014! All tentative of course...all we can do is make plans and see how they unfold. Hope to have a mini get together in central FL with many of you later this Fall.
  19. As everyone starts to wander toward Hutch for the HDT Rally, I'd like to say we (Raymond and I) are going to miss ya'll this year....BUT hope everyone has Safe travel along their way. We are still on track for 28 Feb 14 -- oops now it's 8 March 14 Retirement Date and hope to pull out of Jax, FL on 16 March 14. Hoping Raymond gets rehabbed for his planter's fascia and back on the running events he so enjoys. 2014 Gate River Run in Jax is 15 March otherwise we'd be leaving Jax sooner! Our post retirement tentative plans: 2014 ECR at Deer Run RV Resort, Crossville, TN and a month long adventure there for us before heading West and North to Alaska - Summer '14. Hope some others are planning a visit to AK next summer - would be fun to see ya'll in various parts of the great NW. Fall '14 we plan to be at the HDT Rally. Winter '14/'15 in Warm parts of the SW (suggestions always welcome) and then some Spring/Summer '15 NW Canada travels before we head to home base (Oak Hill, FL) for the Winter of 2015. Spring 2016 we'll head out again to see the wonderful USA. Who knows which way we'll go! Can't wait to be on the road. OH - if anyone needs a small RV park near Jax, FL - we have found Yukon RV Park across from Jax NAS on US17. We will be moving our Rig there the end of October, as we get our home in Jax on the market and Raymond will be able to tinker on the weekends with the things he wants done before retirement. And, it's so close to his office that he could walk to work. Again, Safe Travels Everyone! Have a wonderful Rally!
  20. Sounds like a wonderful trip, Alicia! Can't wait to see your pictures! Raymond and I just returned from meeting my half brother and his wife (from Houston) in Pensacola. First time of staying on a military base and it was wonderful. We were within walking distance of the Pensacola Lighthouse, Navy Museum, IMAX, and Fort Barrancas. Edge of the RV park was on Pensacola Bay with White Sands and Crystal Clear water just like the Gulf of Mexico there. Fun Times! We were real adventurous and allowed them to sleep on our aerobed/couch! We, most likely, will not do that often....quarters are just too small for that; BUT we had perfect weather in Pensacola and stayed outside the RV except for sleeping! So, it was a good experience! Already can't wait for our next short trip: 5 days in Charleston, SC with the Wagners and the Dixons. That will be 'it' for us and trips this year....tires all around will be the next order of business. HAHAHA
  21. Thanks, Rocky and Sheri. That's where we are booked. I agree they were very nice...even went out and measured the pull thur site, so we don't even have to unhook.
  22. Short week on the road for Raymond and I (since he's still working). Heading N on I-95 to pick up I-10 W to DeFuniak Springs campground for today/tomorrow nights and then to Pensacola, FL Wednesday through Friday nights. Meeting family from Houston there....and will get to see friends from 1st grade that live there. Back on the East Coast of FL on 1 June...near I-95 Exit 244 - IF anyone travels near there....give us a call. Happy Trails everyone! Drive Safe.
  23. Jim and Robin - Safe Travels to Orlando. Looking forward to seeing you in FL. We are making note of MWR facilities that are plenty big ... so feel free to pass the names to us as you find them. We will be checking out NAS Pensacola (Oak Grove) the end of May. With so many HDTers near Titusville Area, we all need to plan a get-together, when Davena/Henry and Trey/Susan are back in FL. Janet & Raymond
