  1. What info are you looking for? I have a 2007 Teton Experience with the same system. I usually use the front or rear switches together to raise/lower the jacks. If the unit is not level I select the single switch that will level it. The individual jacks are not powerful enough to raise the entire area off the ground as some motor homes are said to do (to change a tire, etc). Hope this helps some. Catfish
  2. Smashed-in-head buffalo jump. Great museum! Good story of how it got its name. When I was there they were still digging relics inside the building, You can walk around the upper cliff edge where the buffalo were driven over. Some of the bones are still visible at the bottom where the buffalo were "processed" by the Indian folk. Near Calgary, but the old noggin forgets lots of directions now days. There was also a teepee that was an available for over night stays. Highly recommended!
  3. Just finished reading an ad for a portable WIFI unit that can go anywhere and provide you your own WIFI. Does not depend on TV park WIFI system. (Not a WIFI service extender). Reasonable cost (=/- $90.00) It is called MUAMA RYOKO. I know, if it sounds too good..... Has anyone checked this out? Any opinions would be appreciated. I have no connection to this product. I travel or have traveled a lot, prior to Covid, and plan to travel a bunch again. WIFI would be helpful while on the road. Thanks, Catfish Williams
  4. I have had my slide out seals replaced three times. The Uni-grip part numbers that they used are different than the one you stated (Uni-grip ED-50468-T); My rig has only three slides and that may be the difference. It uses ED-50480-T top seal curb side; and ED-50470-T for Top & Side seal for BR and Top & Side seals for LR; both are Uni-Grip part numbers. I have some of each of my part numbers that I bought before I had mine replaced at Texas Custom Coach, so I have no use for them now. They are in the original shipping box. If they will work for you and If you are interested, I will go and determine exactly how much I have. (New in Box). Maybe we can work a deal? My Teton is a 2007 33 foot foot three slide Sunrise Experience. We are located in Eastern NC, near Morehead City NC.
  5. Has anyone experienced any trouble while driving across State borders ? The television says that the Texas folks are stopping vehicles with out of state tags (especially Louisiana), I guess to test for the virus. Being from Texas, and semi-planning a trip back to God's country with North Carolina tags, are we gonna have any problems? I don't mind the testing as right now we be Ok, no outward signs of infections. Catfish
  6. Once you get to the finishing stage, I would recommend a "browning" metal finish rather than bluing. It will not rust (almost). Looks good with any wood finish you might like. If you use any brass hardware it will not take long for it to get the tarnished look if you don't mess with polishing it. Deer will spot the bright work from a lot farther off than you might imagine. (Don't ask how I know). I think a .50 caliber is a fair selection for most tasks although some really like the .54 caliber. Good luck with your project. Catfish
  7. X2: The combination above is without a doubt the best medical coverage for old military folk over 65. Really, only cost 20 years (or more) in service to our country. Thanks to the actions of a retired Col from the U S Air Force (Bud Day - MOA) who pushed Congress to enact the TFL program after the recruiters made promises that were not authorized that said we would get medical care for life if we stayed for 20 years. All retired military owe Col Day a big thank you. Semper Fi, Catfish
  8. I am considering adding dental coverage (probably Delta Dental) to my standard Medicare with Tricare for life as second payer. Would it be better to go with a Medicare Advantage plan that now covers dental along with TFL? I can find no info that provides that choice for retired service folks. Any advice/or info is appreciated. Catfish
  9. My 8800l works good most of the time but does drop out and causes some serious problems. Where can the firmware update be found? Do have to take it in to Verizon? Thanks Catfish
  10. RV roof.com has worked for me; damage from Hurricane Harvey. Pretty expensive but so is a replacement for the Teton. I checked about 250 internet ads for a replacement ( mostly with RVtrader.com) and really nothing comes close to the quality and features of my "old" 2007 Teton. Going to Texas Custom Coach for repairs to the BR side wall cause by the 2nd hurricane in two years. No roof leak, probably slide seals again. Catfish
  11. I recommend having the roof repaired using the flex armor stuff. I have had the flex armor applied to my Teton due to leaks discovered during Hurricane Harvey. So far it is great! It is flexible and sprayed on, not the painted on stuff. They removed all the A/Cs, vent caps, etc and applied the flex so that there is no seams left to leak. They have several shops that do the work, mine was done in Texas. It was covered by insurance, except for the $250.00 deductible. JM2CW. Catfish
  12. One thing that has not been mentioned: there is a what I call a bi-metal switch located on the heat tube that can and will "pop" and that will cause a no cool condition. The propane will continue to provide the heat but the open switch will not allow the frig to operate as advertised. The switch is located just above the the burner. It has two wires attached to it and has a manually re-setable button on it. It does not cost anything to at least try to re set it. My frig is a Dometic 1292 but your model may have the same switch. Good luck, RV refrigerators are not fun to troubleshoot! Catfish
  13. I don't know for sure but I suspect that since the bankrupt plan was probably know at the factory, the general construction quality of the units suffered. My 2007 had a long list of discrepancies that were worked off at the Casper, WY dealer (not the factory). After my shake down run I returned to Casper and the dealer took care of most of the gripes. I had some repaired in Houston and in Wilmington, NC. unfortunately, at Wilmington I ran up a $600.00 warranty bill, paid in cash to be reimbursed by Teton. Never happened, as that was when they went belly up. As far as models go, top of the line is known as "Royal" and then like mine the "Experience". There was also a 32 footer "Phoenix" with a 102" width. The Royal line had 9 models, the Experience had 13, including 33' , 36' 39' and 40 '. Some custom units were made over 40' by special order. I am on my second Teton Homes rig so you may judge if I was happy with the first one. I am enjoying all the "new" stuff - hydraulic slides, electric over hydraulic disk brakes, pendant control for the hydraulic front and rear legs. Every time I watch the new RV shows on TV I realize just how much extra charge stuff came on my Teton. Wouldn't trade for most rigs on the market today. only major problem has been the dome motorized KVH roof mounted satellite dish. Nearly every one I have talked to says it is a piece if junk, and I have to agree. I have has a fair amount of problems with the G rated tires. I replaced them on the 1997 rig with 17.5" wheels and tires and should do so on this one. Hope this helps.
  14. I do not know what paperwork is required but - I stopped at the border patrol inspection station west of Yuma and they had a parrot (probably a Quaker). It was sitting on a box under the shaded stop/interview area. The BP agent said it was taken from a traveler because they did not have the correct papers? Might have been wild caught or smuggled from Mexico. At any rate, I offered to take it and give it a good home, East of Yuma. But alas, they would not release it. It had to go to Los Angles and be quarinted for up to 90 days. I don't think it will make it because the gas fumes were really bad under the shed. It looked pretty sick. Any one know what is required for carrying birds into Kalifornia? Also - different subject - where is spell check located on this site? Catfish
  15. The last time I got caught out of state when registration/inspection was due, I was in Las Vegas. I went to their DMV site for an inspection that I could show NC when I got back. All Las Vegas did was check the VIN and gave me a piece of paper that said "Pass". Worked about 45 days later in NC with no problems. The state government(s) work in strange ways. Hopefully they will get it right in Texas, my home state, before or if I decide to return there. Catfish The reason for the "not to panic" remark is because the associated quote from Jack Mayer did not work for some reason when I tried to copy it.
  16. You are correct about not to panic. North Carolina has had this system for at least the last two years and seems to be working out OK. You receive a notice about 3 months prior to the registration date and reminds you if a state inspection is due. You can complete this soon as the inspection is completed (instantly) . Probably not good for full timers,. but NC is no hot spot for FTers. One thing that does sorta hurt - you have to pay your personal property tax at the same time you re-new your registration. Catfish
  17. Makes me glad I bought in at $38.00! Catfish
  18. X2 Single stock bought at average $57.00 and sold this week for $115.25. Makes me feel like I know what I'm doing, but probably very lucky. Wish I had initially invested lots more but being basically a coward, I now will watch the second half for a while longer. Catfish
