  1. I don’t know the regs, but the Freightliner M2 is a class 7 truck. Available in a 2 axle or 3 axle configuration. https://freightliner.com/trucks/m2-106/ https://freightliner.com/trucks/m2-112/ they also list it with a gvrw of 66,000lbs The Cascadia is a class 8 available in a 2 axle or 3 axle configuration. https://freightliner.com/trucks/cascadia/specifications/ here are Peterbilts offerings. Model 348 class 7 Medium duty truck. https://www.peterbilt.com/trucks/medium-duty/model-348 389 class 8 tractor. https://www.peterbilt.com/trucks/highway/model-389
  2. No sir. Class 8 tractors can come as a single screw (single rear axle) or a twin screw (dual rear axles). if you look a lot of mail contractors as well as UPS, XPO, Old Dominion, Yellow Roadway, etc.... use the single axle tractors. the difference between class 7 & 8 is the thickness of the frame and running suspension/running gear. There are twin screw class 7 trucks out there as well
  3. A kitchen sink can run at a flow rate of 2-5 gallons per minute, while a dishwasher uses 4 gallons per use. If you are concerned with water usage, then using a dishwasher is your best bet.
  4. It does not. Note the sticker on any truck stop fuel pump. “Accurate at a flow of 30-60 gallons per minute”. Show me a funnel that can handle 30-60 gallons per minute.
  5. From my own experiences, i’m gonna say that it sounds like a corroded pin in a wiring harness. I would start unclipping wiring harnesses & checking the pins....could be a broken wire too. Check for any wires that are chaffing.
  6. For the folks who track their fuel milages, you find that it’s not major loss. Pilot fuel is junk & you will get worse fuel milage on it. Loves however is no better. The best fuel milage from that major t/s brands will come from t/a/petro
  7. Thanks Sehc, i saw that before and am hoping i can fall under registration class 15 non-commercial truck. It give a list pf what’s excepted, but doesn’t include hdt’s. On same note it gives a list of what’s ineligible & hdt’s are NOT on that list . wonder what kind of battle i’ll be in for when dmv opens back up again? Lol. I’d like to have it tagged up now so i can drive it. New tires are going on next week & the interior has been ordered. Only thing i still need is a new drivers seat & it’ll be drivable.
  8. That’s what i’m going to try and find out. Also it will be helpful when Dmv opens back up so i can get some info from them. as for all state being the same...oh that would be so nice lol. Would make life easy for not just 1st timers, but also people who move their home domicile state.
  9. I was looking at that this morning, it’s what prompted me to create this thread. NJ is blank...no info there. Yes, i can apply for QQ tags, however the truck must remain completely stock as it rolled of the production line floor. So my visor would have to go, i couldn’t install the interior i bought, and it has to stay a twin screw. Also i’m pretty darn sure i wouldn’t be able to drag a camper around with me. Kind of like a kid using farm license to drive his pick up school. Guess it’s only illegal if ya get caught right. Lol
  10. thanks guys, i’ll look again. Didn’t see it earlier, but may not have dug deep enough
  11. Hello all, i’m new to the forum. I’ll give a little back story. I have a 1979 Peterbilt 359 day cab that i’m in the midst of restoring. When done i would like to tag it as a personal hdt & use it to tow a 5th wheel camper. my question before i get to far along on personalizing the truck to my taste is will i be able to get it registered. I already have it titled in my name. It’s a day cab so i’m not looking to have it converted to a sleeper/rv. Would it be easier for me to register as a 2 axle truck vs. a 3 axle truck?
