Been to Europe 17 times, just returned from riding my motorcycle 6 months in Croatia, Slovenia, Albania, Bosnia, Italy, Switzerland, Montenegro & Austria. Italy remains my favorite country and Bequia my favorite island.
  2. thanks to all, I'm more comfortable knowing all that! ๐Ÿ‘
  3. Greetings, I have just begun my "boondocking" experience and after searching the topic herein, I did not find an answer to my predicament. I have zero plans on staying at an RV park, at least, that is my intention. where would I find places to fill my 20 gallon tank with potable water? any suggestions would be most appreciated. I'm spending the winter in New Mexico and Arizona before moving northerly in the spring. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  4. I lined my drawers with rug matting and in between the pots and dishes. keeps everting in it's place and prevents breakage and clanging. https://www.wayfair.com/Symple-Stuff--Gardiner-NonSlip-Rug-Pad-0.25--WOUH2111-L197-K~W002100484.html?refid=GX444280957852-W002100484_1844826820&device=c&ptid=837082746196&network=g&targetid=pla-837082746196&channel=GooglePLA&ireid=13285703&fdid=1817&PiID[]=1844826820&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8JjTz-7R6wIVEb7ACh3rvA3-EAQYBSABEgLMafD_BwE
  5. check out tellico plains, tenn & Cherohala skyway into western NC (robinsville), beautiful area! personally, I'm thinking of heading to Amarillo Texas (mid sept,) , check the weather in Colorado & New Mexico, then decide whether to head north to SE Colorado or drive south to northern New Mexico.
  6. do you know of any other Boondocking spots around Gunnison that you would recommend? I headed to the area in early sept .
  7. thank you for the report. my original plan was to leave for the SW in may, however, a knee replacement took precedent. hell, it is tomorrow morning! I will not be able to travel until august at best, sounds like that timing is perfect as most of the places for dispersed camping should be open, we can only pray.
  8. my van conversion will be finished by June 15th (two months late). my plans as to where to go first have certainly changed, now I have no clue where to go first. boon docking will be a challenge. I'm set up to stay out 2 weeks before needing food or water. might stick with New Mexico first but higher elevation.
  9. I am about o order 2 new pumps and am very pleased to have found this thread just in the nick of time. With the Flojet, it was not clear if an accumulator was necessary with this pump, could someone clear that up please?
  10. In the past I have used Garmin 550 and Nav V, none of which are without problems. I have a iPhone 7 but the screen is too small for me while driving no matter what app I use. strongly considering a Samsung galaxy tab 4 exclusively for navigation purposes and mounted on the dash. the question is, which map app? I have been told to try google maps but thought posting here would be invaluable considering I went to do boondocking 90-95% of the time. any help and direction would be most appreciated.
  11. I'm liking the "lift" idea, I think I can work with that, custom of course but not too hard to do. down the ramp, up on the lift. what a great suggestion, thank you sir
  12. theboondork, what a refreshing reply, gives me more confidence in deciding on taking a bike. I am 74 and have a r1200gs for sale in Croatia if you are interested. ;}. I was looking at the Yamaha xt 250, street legal for make a run to the store and a trail bike too. it comes in just under 300# and my main concern this entire time is the onloading aspect. I do not want to wrestle this thing into the barn, too old now. I'll look into the beta you speak of and cruise your link too. thank you very much for the help. I too will be a solo traveler. if you see a promaster with "Sweetwarer II" on it, stop and say hello. my best friend and rider had to quit riding last year so I have ben solo on that too. maybe we can do a trail one day.
  13. 2gypsies, for myself, I appreciate your effort in getting this back on point. while I like fish, I am more interested in the OP's original question. it is the very info I am looking for
