  1. Also in Ontario, we got ours done through Desjardins. You may have to push the broker a bit. Some don’t know that it can be done. I believe cooperators also covers bus and truck conversions. Also helps to have all your other insurance with them.
  2. Wow! I applaud your effort. Hopefully the worst is behind you.
  3. We had hoped to head that way but at the moment we’re stuck in BC. Rain storms washed out a couple major highways last month and I5 is having intermittent closures due to winter storms.

    Dash Cam wiring

I’ve always set my cams to shut down when not moving

    Dash Cam wiring

I have a 2012 Volvo 780. I want to put my dash cam near the top of the windshield but the only power in the overhead console (CB and Acc, plug) is direct to the battery. Has anyone removed the left or right side trim from the forward pillars? I tried but felt like I was going to break something. If. Can remove it I can feed power down through there.

    Canadian Rockies

I’m expecting some. It’s a storm that I’ll be watching out for. Staying 2 nights in Calgary before heading over. Owner said if weather looks bad I can stay longer.

    Canadian Rockies

I took a quick look at that route. Now you’ve mentioned it I’ll look a little closer. Thanks.

    Canadian Rockies

For sure. If we have to sit for a day in Alberta and wait for weather I will.

    Canadian Rockies

I was figuring on cold weather through there. Thanks for the heads up. Maybe I’ll leave the sightseeing for the way back.

Thanks Nigel. Yes, going to take a month or so in the spring. I’ll check out Tunnel Mountain CG

    Canadian Rockies

Thanks. Lots of interests but on this trip through just looking to stop for 1 night. I’ve driven truck for years so trip planning is second nature. In all my years though I’ve never run the Rockies. My region was the Appalachians, Poconos, just the little east coast stuff.

    Canadian Rockies

We’re heading to BC from Ontario for the winter in late October. Going to take our time but not too much time for weather reasons. Has anyone on here traversed the Rockies? I’d like to overnight at least once while going through them and am looking for suggestions. Our final destination is Langley. TIA.
  13. Discount Ramps doesn’t know when they’ll have stock on either of their Smart car ramps. Has anyone found an alternate source?

    Discount Ramps

I wanted to order a set of the Smart car big boy II ramps and they say they’re out of stock until the end of August. 12” wide ones are out of stock too. Waiting to hear on expected delivery for them.
  15. I tried posting more pics but I guess I'm dumb.

  17. I spent the last few months working on my bed build outside in the lovely Canadian weather. Still a few things to do (marker lights, storage cabinet...) Picked up our Raptor 421 yesterday. Hauled like a champ.
  18. Looking for recommendations for seat covers to replace the original ones on my 2012 780.
  19. I know it’s an old post but did you ever get the measurements for the bracket? I saw the post where you had made one. If you have them could you pass them along?
  20. 77” 42” 35” to the light fixture, 43” to the bottom of the bunk
  21. What gauge 2x2 are you using?
  22. The 7 wire I picked up was 3 #10’s (wt, bk and bl) plenty for the current being carried so the crimps were tight but fit fine. The other 4 were #12’s. I used all four for the controller. +12 switched, Blue to brake controller terminal, the red I crimped together with the red wire from the truck. The ground I went to the aux ground at the top left.
  23. It was but my truck had 2. The traditional one behind the cab and one that ran to the rear. I pulled the rear all the way back to where I could cut it so it was just long enough to reach in to the side storage box.
