  1. Again we were running our trucks about 180k miles a year. 2012 2013 both had transmission issues and constant engine issues from 500k on. We had injector issues, turbo issues, emission issues constantly. We finally were able to trade them in At 600k . Was so glad to get rid of them. My concern with my 2015 freightliner is making sure it gets driven. Trucks that sit are just asking for problems. Even though I wiill only put about 10k miles a year on it it needs ti be driven frequently.
  2. I agree it's ok but not great. First ALL of the volvos we have start having issues at 600k. Having the transmission changed is a huge plus. The other issues are all emission related to the def system. All sorts of sensors seem to fail around the 600k mark. And if the truck sits then more issues pop up. Being able to go over the truck with a fine tooth comb is worth a lot of money compared to buying at the Ritchie brothers auction. Take it to a dealer and have then go through it to see if it meets trade terms. Money well spent plus you will be using them for several things as you single it. Read up on trade terms. They are published. Do not buy a 2012 or 13 period. Worst two years of trucks we ever ran. Also the safety of adaptive cruise just keeps getting better in the newer trucks. Also dont forget to look at engine hours to make sure the truck wasn't idled to death.

Installed the 42 gallon water tank under the frame. Building the flat bed right now. Had the eaton transmission rep over and we reprogrammed the transmission shift point.

After a long talk with our Meritor rep it seems that everyone is liability shy these days and nobody will offer any help on the ABS going from 6 sensor to 4 sensor. Meritor won't give you a part number for the 4s/4m ABS ECU they want it to come from Freightliner. Freightliner won't give you a part number because of liability. It was decided that the simplest thing to do was weld on a ABS sensor block to both back wheels and run 2 sensors to each wheel. We tried splitting the signal but the ohms were to far off and rather than messing around with it any further I just decided to go with 2 sensors to each wheel.
  6. wow great information. The truck had 4000 miles on it in the last 2 years. I only have the service records from Ryder to 296K miles truck has 300k on it now. There were several relays missing in regards to the trailer fuse panel. right turn and trailer brakes and then the relay that powers the blue wire. I will let me mechanics read the above and advise.
  7. So how many amps are in the blue wire? It's a 10 ga wire so what is the point of coming off of the batteries versus using the blue wire to charge the rv batteries
  8. I am wiring up my Jackalopee. I want to charge my RV batteries while going down the road but I don't understand the two options that are listed in the manual. Both options list bringing a 10g wire from the battery into the box. Option 1 is switched and uses the pin 7 (blue wire) to switch this power on and off. The other option is to bring a wire from the battery and hook it directly to the 12 v direct wire. In that case I unhook pin 7 . Why can't I just hook my pin 7 wire to the 12v switched pin? It's a 10ga wire? I know its running through the relay in the fuse box as I had to put a relay in to light this wire up. Just wan't to make sure I understand before I run a wire from the batteries to the Jackalopee.

I actually shortened the wheel base to 176"which is the same wheel base of a Ford F450 long bed. The 450 is 22' long I will be 24' long when moose guard is installed . I just need to work on adding weight to the rear end. Would love to add 2 50 gallon stainless water tanks after the wheels. Dry camping is easy and cool places to see in Utah. Water is the key. I've been toying with taking an apu off of one of the trucks we just bought. I have a propane generator in the 5th wheel but I could run the apu on the truck forever and not ever run out of diesel. I fuel at our own 20,000 gallon diesel tank. We get a delivery about every 10 days.

I just can't figure out pictures while posting from my phone. Maybe the desktop will work. Added a locker and a 2.64 ratio from a 3.55. Drove the truck to get fuel and realized I hadn't programmed the new ratio. Have a couple of issues that the dealer will have to solve as my software won't see a couple of issues. Wired in the jackalopee and have a direclink brake controller that shipped today. ET hitch installed. Added a second fuel tank and polished both tanks. Aired the rear tires to 75 psi according to michlins web site . Changed oil and filters. Added two new seats with heat and vent. Sound proofing done. Added carpet. Stereo system is the cleanest I've heard. Built custom door pods for speakers. Alignment this week then put to the dealer to fix tyranny error and adaptive cruise. Then to start working on truck bed. Figure I have about 300 hours into shortening and mods.

I tried compressing the pictures to make them small enough to post. Not sure what is the best way to post pictures. I own a trucking company so if my needs change .i'll sell this one and buy another one or pull one out of the fleet
