  1. That's insane! Noted: Leave under voluntary conditions... don't wait!
  2. All good advice on Fuel and Campgrounds. SO FAR... we've been able to rebook all of our campgrounds and RV resorts. Fuel is the only other variable that I'm concerned about... other than the track of the hurricane, of course!
  3. Thank you for everyones input. We've decided to travel South, slowly, more inland and essentially reverse our travel path. Hoping we can stay more inland and avoid the weather and pray that no major destruction makes us cancel our plans returning from Florida back up the East Coast.
  4. Our current plans have us in Connellsville, PA. on Monday, and Chesterfield, VA. on Thursday enroute to Myrtle Beach by Friday. This is only our 4th month out in a Class A motorhome, so we're newbies. With Dorian heading up the East Coast... do you suggest we change our travel plans and drive more inland? Our final destination is Orlando and eventually the Keys by Sept. 10th. Suggestions from those well-traveled in a Motorhome with unpredictable hurricane weather?
  5. My dometic refrigerator model number is: DM2852RBFX.
  6. I have a Dometic Fridge. The switches on the front panel are ON/OFF and GAS. That’s it. The only indicator lights are AUTO and CHECK. I’m plugged into 30AMP shore power and have plenty of propane. Both the Auto and Check lights were illuminated. I wanted to save propane. I turned off the propane valve. Now, the fridge interior light is on, but no indicator lights are on. The fridge seems to be working?! But, only because the interior light is on and the food is cold. I’ll check again after some time. Why isn’t the AUTO light illuminated? How do I know if it’s running off gas or electric? I’m new to this... only a couple weeks into RV’ing. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  7. Yes, sorry... this is a Tiffin Allegro Open Road 34tga class A motorhome. Great advice in your message! I appreciate it very much. Thank you!
  8. We have installed the TireMinder Smart TPMS on our motorhome and tow vehicle. Unfortunately, we haven't had the opportunity to find a location to get the individual tire weight measurements to properly inflate each tire. Instead, and for the time being, we're running with the tires at the recommended PSI as written on the tire. Should we be doing something different?
  9. When driving your motorhome down the highway and your TPMS warning signals an overheating tire... what steps do you take from this point while on the road?
  10. Anybody towing a 2010-2016 Chevy Equinox? Research has shown me that a V6 is best to avoid the "Death Wobble" and only requires 1 fuse to be pulled/switched off. Any other problems or issues?
  11. Generally speaking... the internet. If you do a Google search for "Class A RV and Car Seats," you'll find a lot of threads and websites pointing you away from using a Car Seat in an RV. Most say to have your child in separate vehicle and not in your Class A or C motorhome. Some people have placed car seats in the dinette, but it's frowned upon unless the seat belts are bolted to the frame. Others have put them in side-facing couch seats. But, this is even more dangerous! Others have suggested placing the car seat in the front passenger seat because it offers the most secure seat belt. But, there again, you're not supposed to place a child in a front seat of any vehicle. This is becoming a struggle and a bit disheartening. We were really looking forward to traveling with our son in a Class A, but with all the signs pointing away from a Car Seat in a motorhome, we aren't left with many other options. https://thecarseatlady.com/rvtravel/
  12. Doing research on Car Seats and Class A RVs. The outlook is grim! Most say to NEVER place a toddler car seat in a Class A motorhome as they say it's unsafe not only because most, if not all, Class A motorhomes do not have the LATCH system installed, and the fact that most seat belts in the dinette are more or less for looks and not fit for car seats because they're not bolted to the chassis. So, what are my options? Am I forced to buy a fifth wheel and travel with the car seat in a truck? Anyone else have experience with car seats installed in a Class A motorhome with good safety records?
  13. Just curious, has anybody stayed at an RV Park/Campground that featured live entertainment, such as a magician? Has anyone attended an RV Rally and seen live entertainment, such as a magician?
