  1. If I recollect correctly, my 2003 4400 fog lights would not turn on with the high beams on. Could that be your issue as well? Lenp
  2. Hot air rises drawing in cool(er) air at the bottom of the enclosure (chimney). This cooler air helps keep the fins on the back of the unit cool. If these fins don't get cooled, the unit will not cool properly. Without the chimney the fins simply generate heat and there is no natural air flow to dissipate it. Without an enclosure your at the mercy of the wind to cool them. The unit will still operate out in the open but nowhere near as efficient. You could probably make it work by installing a fan to blow cool air over the fins. Many people (and some RV manufacturers) install 12 volt fans in the "chimney" to improve cooling. Especially if installed in a slideout. I once had to replace the cooling unit on a Dometic and left the unit sitting on the patio overnight to test it. It would not sufficiently cool the interior sitting outside. After installing it back in the RV with it's chimney it worked fine. Hope this helps. Lenp
  3. I think "PDF Split & Merge" will do that. Lenp
  4. You will also need some sort of enclosure to ensure air flow over the coils on the back. Lenp
  5. Another I have used for years is "Icecream PDF Split & Merge". Easy to use. Lenp
  6. 2Gypsies....pay close attention to the Corps icon towards the right of the facility listings. If there is not a corps icon there, the corps does not operate those sites. Have a look at Lake Oahe (https://corpslakes.erdc.dren.mil/visitors/projects.cfm?Id=G612960). Over fifty recreation areas on the lake and only SEVEN are managed by the corps. Granted, many are not campgrounds but there are seven that ARE campgrounds and managed by someone other than the corps. Lenp
  7. I use this website: https://corpslakes.erdc.dren.mil/visitors/visitors.cfm If the park you are looking at has the little COE castle icon it is Corps managed and you senior pass should work. If not Corps managed it may be managed by the state our county and you probably will not get the discount. In South Dakota there are several Corps campgrounds that are State Parks, thus, no discounts. Lenp
  8. Couple of thoughts...... Could there be some moisture in the tank? Could be freezing when it hits the regulator. Cold nights may be adding to the already COLD propane and freezing any moisture. I have tank and heater I use in my shop (tank is outside) and on very cold nights the pilot on the heater goes out. I suspect moisture because it never goes out during the day when temperature is above freezing. Second, could the fan be failing and when it is cold it just cannot get up enough speed to close the sail switch? Is it even trying to run? Fan running? Ignition attempted? Lenp
  9. I tow a 2018 Lincoln MKX all wheel drive with a 3.7L engine. I looked at a 2019 but the owners manual contradicts itself so went with 2018 instead.

    Deductables

I also am on Medicare and TFL. After every office or hospital visit I receive a medicare statement showing what they paid and what I may be billed. Soon after Tricare For Life statement comes telling me they have paid the "what I may be billed" amount. These statements are not always timely - received one yesterday that dated back to March of this year. I am certainly no expert but I understand that as long as your provider is under contract with (accepts) Medicare AND you have Medicare Part B AND the procedure(s) are covered by Medicare AND your covered by TFL you should NEVER see a bill for doctor or hospital. At least I don't and have not for nearly ten years not (I am 74). You will have a copay on medications though. Hospitals and doctors have billed Medicare well over $100K on me this year and I do not expect to pay a dime! Of course Medicare only allows a much smaller portion of what they are billed and you cannot be billed for anything over what Medicare allows. FYI for others - TFL is Tricare for Life that covers military retirees over 65 and is essentially a Medicare supplement. Lenp
  11. I second the replace the breaker suggestion. Continued tripping weakens them. Are your batteries fully charged? Low voltage will cause higher current. Lenp
  12. From the Military Campground and RV Parks website.....http://www.militarycampgrounds.us/texas/fort-bliss-rv-park Mail Forwarding (Your name), c/o General Delivery, 8401 Boeing Dr., El Paso, TX 79910-9999 Appears to me you will have to go to the Post Office to pick up mail. We have stayed there many times but never tried to receive mail there. Someone else may have more info. Lenp

    block heater

Just plug it in an hour or two before you plan to depart. Doesn't take long to heat it up. Lenp
  14. Also check the spacing requirements between the sides of the unit and adjacent wall. My Samsung required a minimum of 3" on all sides if I remember correctly. It IS NOT just a "will it fit" issue. Lenp
  15. Are your batteries in good shape? Weak batteries will cause higher current draw and overheat the motor. Lenp
  16. Back when I was a young kid with a paper route I carried a squirt gun with ammonia/water mix. Shot in the eyes stopped aggressive dogs in their tracks. Lenp
  17. The most important part of any system is a battery monitor system as noted by Lou. I use a Bogart Engineering Pentametric monitor and find it very informative. They also have a Trimetric battery monitor that does many of the same things the Pentametric does. Both to a great job of informing us of battery status. Lenp
  18. It is almost time for this years Fallen Hero cart escort. This year we will be escorting a sparkling new cart to Phoenix Sky Harbor airport. We depart SeaTac on May 8th and travel down Interstate Five to Ontario, CA where we will join the RFTW (southern route). Cart delivery at Sky Harbor is scheduled for May 16th at 10:00am if anyone interested (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=2456981954334295&set=gm.423422115138684&type=3&theater&ifg=1) We will be arriving at the Chandler Southgate Hotel the evening of the 15th. I have participated in the last two Fallen Hero cart escorts (Dallas/Fort Worth & San Francisco) and looking forward to this years ride. Also plan to continue on to Washington, DC for the 31st RFTW and hope to participate in the very last Rolling Thunder parade in DC on Sunday, May 26th. After this year Rolling Thunder will no longer exist due to exorbitant costs and issues with using the Pentagon parking lot for staging.
  19. I am not familiar with the Magnum equipment but a quick review of the ME-RC manual shows an additional unit (ME-BMK battery monitor) is required to measure SOC. Page seven - https://www.magnum-dimensions.com/sites/default/files/MagArchive/64-0003-Rev-D-ME-RC.pdf If the Magnum is anything like my Bogart Engineering Pentametric system there is a parameter that can be set to determine when 100% SOC is achieved. If I remember correctly it is set for the point when the voltage reaches 14.4 volts and charge current drops to 9 amps - don't quote me on those numbers but they are close. Does the Magnum SOC have anything similar? As noted above, if your applying solar charge to the batteries at the same time your running the generator there could be some false reading. Lenp
  20. How are you measuring your SOC?

    Louisiana US 90

US 90 is not too bad from New Orleans until you get near Lafayette where it gets a little congested and the last few miles in Lafayette are very busy and narrow lanes. Still no big deal - we often travel that route. Lenp
  22. Initially we chose a house sitter the first four years we full timed. Couldn't have asked for a better situation. Unfortunately she had to move on so we decided to rent for a few years (four more). No issues to speak of with maintenance other than a drain field replacement that was due regardless. Decided we wanted to sell the place in 2008 so asked the renters to vacate. We did not use a rental agent but would highly recommend doing so. To avoid capital gains taxes we chose to once again have a house sitter for three years and officially call it our home base (we paid utilities and such). This house sitter was a second cousin and it was not a good situation. They didn't trash the place but close to it with dog stains all over the carpet and holes in the freshly painted walls where pictures had been hung. We ended up keeping the place and moving back in after eleven years of full time. Glad we kept the place as I now have my shop back and ten acres of pasture to keep me busy and healthy! Lenp
  23. I used these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ARADQR2/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 two on the frig and two on the freezer. attached with: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CC146DM/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I tried the bungee and Velcro but found they did not keep the doors tightly closed on corners. Mine is a RF197 but basically the same door configuration. The freezer door "self-lock" feature did not work well on corners either but he RF18 may be better. Lenp
  24. I simply connect the input (suction) side of the pump into a jug of RV antifreeze, turn on the pump and ice maker and let it sit until I see pink ice (slush). I have to do the same for the washer/dryer until I see pink water in the machine. Of course, the water heater is in bypass mode. Lenp
  25. What exactly did your father do to "fix" the fuse? The plug on the end of your cord "looks" like a 220 volt dryer plug but it IS NOT. it is 120 only. If your father rigged a dryer type 240 plug for you chances are several things got fried including your converter. Check the voltage on the plug your plugged into and make sure your connected to 120. Read across the two flat connectors.
