  1. $2.65 in Fairplay, CO. $2.25 an hour away in Woodland Park, CO. A couple no name stations in Canon City, CO had it for $2.10.
  2. Meh. Regular air is nearly 80% nitrogen already, so...
  3. Thanks. Should have known, especially since the thing was dated nearly 2 weeks ago.
  4. Saw on another site today. Is it data manipulation, politics, some other nonsense, or fact?
  5. Yes. My coach has 2 stickers, each with a different PSI ratings; one says 115 and the other says 125. So, I split the difference and run 120 in my Saliun tires. I also ran 120 in the OEM tires. I do not remember the make. The TST sensors have read over 140 on some days. I have yet to find a reliable source that says those pressures are too high. As long as all 4 tires are similar pressure, I call it good. If one was a lot higher than the rest, I would worry about a problem.
  6. The only difference between the dually and any other vehicle will be the walking distance. Still have to deal with groceries and the child back at any vehicle.
  7. Different stroke for different folks, I guess. The dually I have has been of a minimal negative impact as a daily driver/sightseeing vehicle. Yes, there are some jeep trails I should not have taken, but we made it thru. As for shopping, walking from the far end of the parking lot is a minor issue, IMO. 8 years half-timing and 1 1/2 years fulltiming.
  8. Don't ask, don't tell. Some bases have machines you drive thru that scan the coach. Not enough detail to pick anything up. Some bases require the gate guard to enter the RV for a look-see. It's not a search and the slides are still closed, so not much chance of finding anything unless it is in the open. Most bases are drive up, show your ID, and roll on thru the gate. With COVID, it is more important to call the fam camp and make sure non-active duty can use it.
  9. https://workampingjobs.com/workampingjobs.php?sortby=dateadded DESC&pay= This is one of many sites for workamping (w/k) jobs. There are a number of Facebook (FB) w/k groups, too. Cool Works is yet another. You will have no trouble finding w/k ads. If you have never done w/k, be careful. There are some unscrupulous characters out there. I have seen ads asking for 25+ hrs a week, just for a FHU site and zero pay. Then when I look at the park's rates, I see they charge less than $500 for a month for a FHU site, including electric. 25 hrs a week x 4 weeks = 100 hrs a month. In that case, the "pay" for your work is $5 an hr. And the park charges less than $500 a month for a seasonal site. Since a w/k job is for a season, the "hourly pay" would come out even less than $5 an hr. I realize people have different wants/needs and also different ways to calculate compensation. There are good and bad everywhere. Just be aware. As for fam camps, make sure you call ahead to verify retirees can use them during COVID. Some are allowing only AD in.
  10. This is the best advice for checking on the status of military fam camps. Too often the web pages are out of date. The Navy has the best set up out there, IMO...1-800-NAVY-BED. You call, you tell them which Navy fam camp you want, you get a reservation if space is available and if that fam camp allows reservations. At least that has been my experience.
  11. Thanks for that. I had no idea. But, the short border crossing opening time another poster mentioned will likely keep our dental care in the US...for this year, anyway.
  12. Our 1-yr FT anniversary was in March 2020. We were workamping in LA near the TX border when COVID mania hit. We had a w/k job in CO lined up for summer. Wife wanted out of LA before an gov lock down happened, so we hit the road for CO a week or 2 earlier than planned. Had zero problems finding FHU parks on the trip, commercial and municipal. She wanted to visit Santa Fe en route, so we did. Only stayed a few days because everything she wanted to see was closed due to COVID. We enjoy eating out, but COVID threw a wrench in that. Carry out is not the same. We're happy that restaurants are opening up. Have reservations in AZ for Nov - Jan. With the borders looking like they will remain closed thru winter, our plans for Mexican dental care is likely out. At least it may be easier to find various resorts to stay for Feb and Mar if Canadians stay north. Or we may be able to extend in the place we'll be Nov - Jan, IDK. Already have plans made for MT next summer. If that changes, we'll go somewhere else. As mentioned, flexibility is key, but there is no need to stay in one place unless you want to. BTW, we had people tell us last year wasn't a good time to go FT. As you implied, there will always be reasons to NOT go FT. But there will always be reason TO go FT. No regrets here. Well, except for all the stuff I had to give up that will eventually need to be replaced once off the road. I already told the wife we'll be shopping at thrift stores and Goodwill. No way I'm buying new stuff again. And our next house will be MUCH smaller than our last house. That will help limit the amount of stuff we buy, too. But that is years away.
  13. In case your furnace is a Suburban, this might have some info for you. http://techsupport.pdxrvwholesale.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/Suburban-Furnace-Master-Service-and-Training-Manual.pdf
  14. If the previous owners had pets, pet fur could have collected on the sail switch, preventing it from making a connection. You can check YouTube for examples of fur covered sail switches and how to take the furnace apart to check.
  15. Their assigned polling place will be listed on their voter registration card, so all they have to do is show up at the assigned polling place on election day.. They have to request an absentee ballot if they want to vote by mail. Not every assigned polling place is open for early voting.
  16. It is a crap shoot either way. Find a floor plan you like, negotiate the deal, and live your life. If something breaks, fix it.
  17. Did you do the install or have it done? If you did it, we need details; what kind of RV, make, model, how hard was it, how long did it take, where did you get the rollers, etc.
  18. It's not coming up, it is happening now and has been for about a week. While it will be difficult to determine if any increase in neighboring states is related to the event, it will be easy to claim, and hard to disprove, an increase of cases in the Rapid City/Sturgis area due to the event.
  19. FL currently has 40 deaths per 100 thousand. NYC has 281 deaths per 100K and NY state (not counting NYC) has 80 deaths per 100K. CA has about 9K more cases than FL in the past 7 days but only 26 deaths per 100K. TX has 4K more cases than FL in the past 7 days and 30 deaths per 100K. In other words, there doesn't seem to be a consistent thinning of the herd. I'm looking forward to seeing SD's number in another few weeks. https://www.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#cases
  20. Spot beam is out of Denver. Apparently Scripps owns ABC in this area, and they have pulled their broadcast from Dish while negotiating rates. Is there a way for me to find a spot beam within range of my receiver that is still broadcasting ABC? OTA is useless in my location and I don't care about local news, just the prime time shows and General Hospital for the wife.
  21. Much of what you wrote could be why there is such uncertainty about Covid. There is no telling what the future will hold.
  22. Absolutely. And less than 3/4 of 1% of the US population is currently infected. Plus, half of the 5 million cumulative number of infected in the US have recovered. The ~170,00 who died are a great loss. I wonder how many actually died of Covid and how many actually died of an underlying condition that Covid worsened. Since so many death certificates seem to list only Covid, we will probably never know. This virus may be with us for a lot longer than anyone expects.
