  1. Thanks to all who replied. Jim
  2. I want to add 2 6v batteries to my 2 6v battery system . The system will remain 12v. I will add two batteries of the same brand and near the same age. My problem is that the only place I can install new batteries is about 5 foot from existing batteries. I will use 2/0 cables and make sure both positive and negative leads are the same length . I will also be adding 200 to 300 watts of panels to an existing 280 watt system. anyone have any comments or suggestions thanks
  3. I just received the Viair 300p air compressor and have given it a try on my 17.5" 5th wheel tire. Very pleased, outstanding product. Brought the tire from around 8opsi to 125psi in a matter of minutes. Quite and easy to use. With the storage bag will fit and travel well yet remain ready for use in a few seconds. i highly recommend this compressor and the price was pretty easy on the wallet. I paid $ 128 delivered. Jim
  4. Your wake up voltage is good. Battery was pretty much at rest and showing 12.7 v could not ask for much better than that. If you run the generator the same time your solar is providing power whichever one has the higher voltage will be the one providing amperage. So both with the sun shine is wasting fuel. I still would suggest buying Trimetic TM 2030 battery monitor. Using it is the only way to know for sure the condition of your batteries. Has lots more information available too. Jim
  5. Watching the lights does not tell you anything about battery SOC. (State of charge). i would highly recommend installing a battery monitor such as the one from Bogart or I ve heard people recommend the link meter. This will measure total amps "in" and total amps "out". I to would suggest turning the inverter off until needed, it has a idle current draw. is your solar charge controller programmable, if so what volatage are the batteries being charged. Each battery manufacture has different requirement for charge voltage. Sounds to me that it might be possible that the batteries are not getting 100% charged. In addition the inverter draw when not in use does not help. Hope this helps, I am no expert but have researched on line . Jim
  6. I just bought one to use when boondocking . To pump tanks into portable blue tank in bed of truck. Qusetion is ,. Are there other times when you might use the macerator pump instead of the regular hose to dump the tanks.? Thanks Jim

I have been told there are other dry camping site on the way to spring creek. if you or anyone else makes it up that way stop by and say hello. jim
  12. It a little over 6.5a AC which showed about a 80a DC load to the inverter. thanks for the replies.
  13. I have (2) 6 v 225 ah batteries with 280 watts of panels controlled by a trimetic sc2030 and with the rv 2030 battery monitor. My question is, or better ear yet I am asking for your opinion. i started with a 100% charged batteries which showed 12.8 v without charger on or sun providing any voltage. I started a 7 amp coffee maker and watched the voltage drop to 11.1-11.2 while brewing. After the brew cycle the voltages returned to 12.7v.. The percent of charge started at 100% and dropped to 98 % . I repeated this again with a kurg type coffee brew and again voltage drop was same with another 2% drop in charge left. I am thinking the voltage drop to be excessive.. Your thoughtS. I don't know the history of the batteries. Your thought opinions are appreciated jim
  14. Will be camp host at Sprong Creek campground on Lake Hebgen west of west Yellowstone park from June 1 until? . Anyone have any information about this campground? if your up this way stop by and say hello. i understand there is a vault tolilet , no electric and no water on site. 17. I changed some time ago. Direct became to difficult to deal with. Much happier with Dish . I don't think you will regret the change, much easier to set up and address changes are painless. Find someone with Dish service and have them set you up for reveral ,. You both get $ off your bill for 10 mo and the rates for same service is much cheaper. I save about $40 + a month. If allowed I will give you my account number for the reveral. jim
  18. I have both mainly because if your in a location where one will not work due to trees, mountains obstruction then the other usually will. Also for me to receive my loacal stations in HD I have to use the EA. Of course I still have to be within the spot beam area to receive local.s I think there are some limits to the WA LNB the further north and eat you may go. Jim
  19. I've had one for awhile, I love it. Sturdy and easy to set up. Would not do without it, jim PS. It is a little pricey!
