  1. I wouldn't expect them to be closed as they weren't in the spring. Doesn't make any sense to close a place where you can choose to be far apart. I am also going back in October.
  2. Yes. The more people around, the greater chance for criminals to be around. Criminals are lazy.. they don't go out of town looking for RVs to burgle. The only time I've ever lost anything was in a city, while asleep.
  3. Jees.. I don't think a thing of that.
  4. You sound a lot like me when I first retired and started out. I found many RV parks to be disgusting places where I could hear my neighbor snoring, blue tarps and old cars, people getting up at 5:30am to go to work, poorly maintained...etc. That's when I got to work fixing up my rig to boondock.. lots of solar, big inverter, lotsa battery, a way to carry water. You can find many state parks and places just outside of a city that you may find much more appealing than RV parks, but you won't find full hookups and it will be a bit more work. If you can avoid the full hookup need you'll be able to find much more desirable living. Of all the negatives of an RV park, I found listening to people's vehicles idling at dawn to go to work the most depressing.
  5. Put them all on it. Wiring directly the the AC panel is so much easier, then run things as you want.
  6. You say it's not political, but it appears you're promoting a conspiracy.
  7. The market is fine.. for now. When it dropped to 18,000 was the time to buy. Of course, hindsight is 20/20
  8. Surgeons know something some of us don't, or refuse to.
  9. I can run air, for short periods, with Li batteries and a 3600w PSW inverter, but at 48v, not 12 with its monster amp draw heating up the wires. MW does not need generator.
  10. You should be careful. You ask a lot of questions on here.... lol.
  11. That's right. Science changes based on our best information, not perfect information. It ain't the Bible.
  12. It's the same old stuff. People didn't want to wear seatbelts or stop smoking. We are not in this together.
  13. Maybe not at this moment, but it will, just like it did months ago. Where do you think this is going?
  14. Science is not political. That's just what Trump wants you to think.
  15. Religion will save you. Without science we're just a bunch of apes.
  16. I'm sure Trump supporters will have alternate-facts explanations for any of this. It's not so much death, it's overwhelming the hospitals.
  17. So you doubt all the advice and are going with your own reasoning?
  18. I don't think anybody 'wants' to, but it's a convenient service that someone is paid to maintain. I'd rather pay the $3 than to drive to Walmart, buy something, wait in line, to save a whopping $3. If everyone did as you, ATMs would disappear and we'd all be forced into banks or Walmarts - a store I avoid like the plague.
  19. I stopped caring about paying $3 to get $200 from an ATM. Life's short.
  20. Just got it back from shop. $145 for the two worn straps, 2 hours, and they used the thicker, better straps without my asking. Would have been faster but they didn't have the parts right there. They did remove both wheels on that side. A mobile who did this 3 years ago did not. I've found a small independent shop that gets me right in at the appointed time, starts work immediately, and isn't constantly interrupted by other vehicles. I tip generously for that because it's so hard to find and I'm of the opinion it helps for that kind of attention to continue to come my way. I've ordered more straps and will carry them with me from now on. This is possibly something I could do, I'd just prefer not to given what you've all said.
  21. So supporting the trailer by its frame, on that side, then raising carefully the spring assembly is how it's done?
  22. thanks. Hmm.. I'm not liking it already. As always, the first time can be quite a challenge.
  23. I want to replace what I think is called the shackle. Yellow arrow point to it. You can see it's starting to wear out at the top hole. Is this a DIY with just a bottle jack, socket wrenches and box-ends?
  24. Thanks. How many mechanics does it take to find air leaks on a Freightliner chassis? All of them, but nobody can fix them. According to SC, Freightliner's spec on acceptable air loss is total loss in 6 hours. I don't know, that seems excessive.
