  1. I do love a good thunderstorm. Thunder and lightning at the same time, sounding like it was right on top of us. But it didn't last long and there really wasn't much damage here other than a couple trees down and loss of power. So far 12 hrs without power. There was a tree that fell on a camper in the annual section and one occupant was fine and the other was treated and released...so that is good.

    Tornado Hits Deer Run

The loud thunder/lightning storm sounded like it was right on top of us. It didn't last long and was fast moving. No train like sounds to say it was a tornado. In Deer Run there are a couple trees down and we found the camper that the tree fell on. It was in the annual section. It appears that the guy was treated and released...so that is good. There was no damage in our section other than we have been without power since about 2:30am. Being a Sunday a lot of campers, that were here for the weekend, have left.
  3. We are here at Deer Run.
  4. We were in Jasper late August 2017 in the overflow parking in Jasper. This is a large open area, with plenty of space. You just pick a spot, nothing assigned. This is a great place to camp. Overflow is near Snaring campground north of Jasper on Hwy 16. Jasper is a night sky preserve and the stars are amazing. I have never seen so many stars.
  5. We stayed at Four Seasons Family Campground in Pilesgrove NJ. They are open year round.
  6. The site you booked can be cancelled for a $10 fee. I had booked two non-sequential nights in Jan. But I was lucky and got 4 nights on a flood held site in May. It costs me $20 to cancel to previous reservation...but so worth it to have 4 back to back nights.
  7. We went to Yosemite last June. I also had issues with trying to book a site. Sometime in May, they usually open up a couple sites that have been held back due to potential flood problems. You can call the park to find out when they think they will release those sites. Also check back often as people do cancel. There is also youtube videos showing the actual sites. Those were helpful when I was trying to determine which sites we would fit it.

    East Coast Rally

We have confirmed our dates with Kim. Current plan is to arrive April 6th
  9. Hello, We stayed at the KOA Mar 5-8, 2017 with our 45' 5th wheel and HDT. There was plenty of room for us. The bus stop right outside the park was a convenient way to get downtown.
  10. We stayed at Catherine's Landing in Hot Springs AR. We were there last September and it was a nice campground with lots of space for our HDT, 5th wheel and smart. It is, however, about 60 miles away from Crater of Diamonds..but it was a nice ride there when we visited the state park.
  11. Hello. We are arriving hopefully April 15th. We will be attending the Cumberland County Playhouse on April 21st to see the comedy Greener Pastures.
  12. We are planning a trip to Yuma AZ mid January and was hoping we could get some suggestions on the best places to camp or boondock. This is our first time there so any information/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Teresa

    National HDT Rally

That's a pretty common question. Resoundingly the answer is DO NOT STOP. Many of us have our HDTs registered as RVs/Motorhomes and as such are not required to stop at weigh stations. Haven't heard of anyone getting any serious hassles from the officials and personally I've never been even questioned. I've even heard some suggest that stopping may give them ideas they don't need...
  14. We love our 780. Our 5er is 13'-4 high so they look good together. Storage is great and I like the standing room. Also allowed us to add a 7'-0 drom on the back for more storage capacity.
  15. Count me in. I have everything I need (just arrived in the mail yesterday!). This weekend, I'm going to try to reproduce the ECR project using the info on the particle website. Wish me luck!

    National HDT Rally

Interested in a repeat of the tank monitoring project. There were some other comments on the ECR thread that were also hoping for a repeat at the national rally. I didn't participate in the ECR project but now wish I had since I now have a tank on the truck that I'd like to monitor. (pretty please!).
  17. Checkout www.rvhaulers.ca. Gregg has some great info on his site and many videos posted on his you-tube page and may also be a source for a truck. He is also located in Calgary

  20. So I hear! And the jury is still out on the tow vehicle?
  21. I would very much like to observe. Haven't had the coach long enough to know what level sensing I have yet, but am interested in what is available if I run into problems, or am looking for an improvement
  22. 2016 New Horizons 45' Majestic. Towed with a 2009 Volvo 780.
  23. In-laws are interested. They have just retired are are in the market and they are in Williamsburg, Va. Can you send me the details via email to get to them? treeed@charter.net
