  1. What size Class C are you looking for and how much do you expect load in the RV. I have looked at many Class C's and found many longer Class C's to be near maxing out on weight before the owner added added the groceries. The Super C's have a heavier frame, So that said, what is your planned use. Are you going to be 3-4 hours a day, driving maybe 15,000 miles yearly. The diesel may more sense. Driving shorter distances go with the gas. Presently, I have noticed the price of gas and diesel (with fuel card) and nearly the same, not the dollar difference not long ago A school system had several small trucks and they specially would look and spec only gas trucks that starter easily can be changed and door hinges easily replaced. Look over you what need, Modern trucks are quieter by either noise reduction in the engine or better insulation in the cab. Does the Class C have front end insulation. Clay
  2. Isn't this how life goes, you have lane and highway closures for several years a maybe 15 miles west. That project is winding down at this time, I believe Those possible detours are graveled but many miles of dust and wash-board in the months ahead. A good chance to made those Toll roads giving locals a free pass and others a $XXX.xx toll. Clay, My suggestion to limit traffic.
  3. If you don't believe it, Set a induction type pan on the stove without any food. Turn the heat on and walk away. My wife says the pan bottom was RED hot. The stove still works and the pan is useable with a blue bottom
  4. I use a Y if I only have one Park connection point. Clay
  5. Due some shopping. Last fall I had to winterize for a week, the pumped worked good. Two weeks later put water in the fresh water tank and flushed the water lines on city water. Next day turned on the pump and no water moved. Motor run. I looked and found a rebuilt kit for my M/N pump. Something like $65 but a new pump (same M/N) was less $100 or pump over $200 at a famous Camp _ parts business. Clay
  6. I put my regulator after the first filter and water softer, resulting better water pressure at the faucet. I don't a good measure of the difference but I need better pressure gauge, Clay
  7. At one time, WM treated like at check, yes you could get cash but I have tried or needed lately. Of course you purchased the CC with cash. Now I have 2 bank accounts, one being "First Convenience" which can be found in most Texas WM's and some HED's so in my travels I can easily get cash with 6 weeks.
  8. This could have been my words. I remember two occasions where Cash was King. 10-15 years a major ice storm took down a large area of electric and communication, The area of communication was larger that the electrical. Those with electric that didn't have communication was dealing with Cash for several days. I don't like the Credit Cards shorting business so rather than cash I often buy Gift Cards. Easier to hide than cash. and there is always a Walmart near. Clay
  9. Kirk. Thanks for posting this good list Clay Presently in Florida
  10. My primary doctor use to make Hospital visits and some other out of his primary office shifts. But as the health network expanded, he has kept to his office. Thus his hours has been reduced from 60-80 hours a week to 45-50 hours. Luckly that that been quite a pay raise. Clay
  11. It has been many years since a notice of recall of many Respironics was send out. Of those users has anyone ever had a settlement? My machine had a humidifier failure so I replaced it with another CPAP Machine but it did not operate on 12 volts so the older equipment was used many RV Night, Then I kept it through the COVID for extra respiratory support. After I received a confirmation letter, I have had written and verbal communication, with the replies we are working on the matter. But no results. Clay with ageing CPAP # 2
  12. Try the Kerrvile area. There are a couple that have covered storage that opens up as summer ends. You may be able to find lockable storage unit for Tow vehicle. Clay
  13. The report I received they thought they had an extra night but signage and paper work did not agree. Regarding Medical Emergency, some one the park should been aware in the time line. As for the couple, they are going to billed for the extra night and may be put on probation.
  14. Sunday evening campground check-in when south.. One couple didn't remove their TT and could not be located. They did not a cell phone but a land line over an hour away. The only 3 night stay available without moving was in a high traffic area without a desired view. Moving wasn't in our enjoyable camp out. We returned home as the sun went down. Is this getting to be a common thing? I can't fault the campground as part-time staff bend over backwards to keep from ruining our 3 night camp trip. Clay In NW Illinois
  15. What are some of the details about the Site. Is the park close to a busy highway for over nighters, Then I want pull-through and some what level. (purpose quick set up and break down the camp). No low hanging tree limbs (14 foot minimum) and 75 foot long lets me stay connected . With a previous RV, I needed full hook-up but a two night stay, definitely full hook-up. A clean park always, rules enforced about quite time If I'm spending a week, Picnic table and fire pit are nice. Also a reduced rate like 7 nights for the price of 6. Monthly stays require some kind of site amenity like a place to people to gather for coffee, put a puzzle together and play games Clay Sr Citizens
  16. How cold of Temperatures will you except. Central Texas may have a night or two in teens as normal. Even Tucson can have frigid nights as extreme. but Phoenix not Clay
  17. It's everywhere, It's everywhere. I'm on day 4 of virus and wife on day 6. We had flues that were worse, when younger and didn't have other weakness. My advise you have low immune, wear a mask in crowded or confined areas. What we learned, normally you be virus spreader2 days before you have symptoms to test positive. Going forward our direction, Isolate 5 days after testing positive (All wearing mask if not alone), After first five days wear a mask when among others. Personal care a must, Wash your hands often, use lots of Disinfectant spray or wipes. Disposal gloves should be a part of tools. Talk to your DR and stay healthy Clay & Marcie
  18. I hope this is more education even dealing with IOU's like the Tesla Power Wall. Read the Seven Modes of Operation on Page 7 https://library.e.abb.com/public/3c4e15816e4a7bf1c12578d100500565/Case_Note_BESS_GVEA_Fairbanks-web.pdf Schedule Load Increase, Power System Stabilizer, Spinning Reserve are very import in control of the power system. Early days of electric generation was built for businesses that often only needed electric during specific hours of the day, during off Peak hours, power would turned ON to residential area. Demand for electric 24 hours a day meant increased Generation and Control. Then came with the Electric Clock, so keeping the electric clock reading the same as the wind-up wall clock, time also had to sold. Thus regulating was more difficult with governors used with slow response. The aim was to have the correct at least once a day sometime, mostly after mid-night and 6AM In 1950's, 60's, most electric utilities, in the lower 48 states connected together. Time became more important to maintain Grid integrity. That called faster generator governors, faster responding generators and necessary option was (and still is ) Automatic Customer Load Shedding. Lots stories can be told here and may many will be remember the NYC blackouts or Earth quakes problems. How many remember the Vertical Roll on the display of the TV, it wasn't the TV's fault I personally have not read capability or sizing of the Tesla Wall Unit but did see a picture of fenced area contain 50 units or more units. For comparison, Texas would need about 50 of the Alaska Battery Energy storage units. My work history has mostly Electric Utility in the Western and Eastern sections but not the Texas section. El Paso TX is part of the western area. Clay
  19. It makes you wonder how miles from this EXPERT was from home? How many boxes has this expert installed? Clay
  20. Dish did the same for the Eastern arc. 61.5 and 72 are used. 79 has been deleted. I was told ecomonics I have no idea who owsn what or uses what. At one time Dish was leasing from Direct. Clay
  21. Welcome to the Forum. You didn't say what size RV you have as bigger RV's have few choices. Coach-net is a good company, Years ago, with a small C, my vehicle insurance covered my needs. As I up-sized i used Good Sam's but never used. Coach-Net came through several years ago at Thanksgiving when no body was working but Santa Claus. Clay with Diesel Pusher
  22. Common statements like; Is the this forum going to the wayside. I'm hanging it up. Moving back to a stick built, suggest we are getting old or physically disabled. It may be interesting to know what age people planted or intend to plant their feet. My wife and I hope to make the mid 80's before driving a stake in the ground and say this is home. Presently my wife of nearly 8 years has a summer home which should be sold next summer. We are Winter Texans and until Covid, we liked to see Lake Superior. With that at 82 years old, we would be Full Timers in a Class A. Clay & Marcie
  23. Is your toy hauler pre-wired for a generator? If so, I would be be looking for RV salvage yard for a used generator? Clay
  24. If using the link above, be sure and check the box for "search 16 mile radius". Many inspections places are in town and don't have the space to park a longer vehicle. I have used the places listed in Goodrich and E. Hwy 190. Both were places referred by the Escapee office, Call ahead. Clay
  25. Getting a Class A Non-CDL license is easy if your a safe - informed driver now. Your driving for a particular reason so information on special loads ( heavy, Wide, long, chemical) is not part yourthe truck. Truckers do have rules but common sense prevails like knowing what roads you can be on. Know your turning radius and be able to back a little in addition to reading parts of the CDL manual to see what equipment you need. It has some time I did the test but then it was the states that determined the driving test. No drug test required for Non-CDL drivers. I compliment you for looking into this matter before starting adventure getting into trouble. Clay
