  1. You mentioned a place to post more pics, then I thought I remembered reading a blog post series on one of your trips and a couple of clicks later I found out google remembered too. http://randyandnancy95.blogspot.com/ maybe when you get settled you could post your pictures there along with any other thoughts you might have on the event over there then post a link back over here.
  2. Randy, I don't know if you remember me but a few years ago you were kind enough to invite me to your place to show me your truck and share a great deal of your information about HDT's. Although I have yet to make the move to the darkside I am still very grateful that you took the time for a complete stranger to share your experience. I am still right across the river in Chesterfield County and I have a complete machine shop at my disposal if you find you need help with something that you cannot handle with the tools you have at home please let me know. HDT spotted in video

A&J, From what I have picked up from other videos, Nathan is in the computer field and runs his business from the road. Marissa is a nurse and does some part time traveling nurse jobs on occasion.

    HDT spotted in video

I spotted an HDT in a video from a couple that I follow on youtube. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ja6Z6achhGM at about 3:09 ). White Volvo with a large Drom box. Was at the Full time family Rally in CA ( https://www.fulltimefamilies.com/family-reunions/2018-fulltime-families-west-coast-game-on-rally-menifee-ca/) . Is it one of the members here?
  5. Take a look at FW with a Front Living area, this puts the bedroom in the back, so ceilings are full height and I think really open up the room. I am 6'4 so I appreciate the higher ceiling, but you do end up with a lower ceiling living area, and I have read a few people comment that it is harder to cool the front living in the heat of the day when you are most likely to be in that area. This is not a popular floor plan and the ones I have seen are in the longer lengths.
  6. Al, I would not get discouraged. I for one have a lot of “interest” but I don’t have the cash to move in the HDT direction at the moment, as I’m sure there are a lot of lurkers in the same situation. I also see that the view count on this thread is very respectable. It may just be the time of year or maybe not as many people willing to go with a manual transmission (I love manuals by the way). In addition, I think your pretty close on your price point as well. If you’re looking to expand your exposure then other sites as Nolan suggested is the way to go, just be ready for a lot of extra or weird enquires (especially from Craigslist, which is always interesting). John
  7. You will get a lot of opinions on this one! Some of the often mentioned hitches in that weight range with a bit of suspension built in (in no particular order) are as follows: Comfort ride: http://comfortridehitch.com/ The ET http://ethitch.com/ Trailer Saver http://www.trailersaver.com/ Take the time to check them out on line and search for these names on the forum. There are a few others but I see these mentioned here most of all. I have seen them all, but I do not own any of them so I will not comment. I’m only about 12k right now so I’m running a B & W with no issues. This one works well for me because I need to switch back to gooseneck also. (Heads up on topic, Moderators may move this over to Fifth wheel category) John
  8. I found a couple of pictures of the bed area I took at the ECR this past spring. Let's see if I can get the links to work. https://goo.gl/photos/19F6WqV1iEWWCuB88 https://goo.gl/photos/RAM5nQg68P1QfQYTA John
  9. I seem to remember seeing a tag axle that worked like a floating steer axle on something, the memory is not sharp at this point. Perhaps it could be adapted to the LQ trailer and locked on center when pulled by itself. This would allow the wheels to turn and not scrub while cornering when hooked up double. I don't think it was actually controlled by steering, I think it would turn by forces applied by the turning motion. My thoughts anyway. John
  10. I had a similar experience a couple of weeks ago, we were on our way back from our most recent equine adventure with the horses in the trailer and the wife says to me "I'll be glad when you get your Volvo so I can crawl in the back and take a nap". It's not quite the right time for us yet, but the it's getting close and she is on board . John
  11. I don't think you overloaded anyone, quite the opposite. I see a well written add with plenty of good pictures. All the important information is there so basic questions are not needed. I'm guessing from your comment that you haven't had any nibbles as of yet. The only thing that might catch the eye of potential buyers scanning ads would be to change the title from "Truck Conversion" to "Super C Motorhome". Otherwise the add should be a template for how an add should be done. John
  12. It is interesting this post popped up, my wife and I were looking at Fifth wheels on a dealer lot two weeks ago and after the salesmen opened about the sixth trailer I noticed he had a key ring with only about 6 keys on it. He could usually open whatever trailer we walked up to by the second key, sometimes the third. I thought maybe dealers had some sort of master key for different brands, I had not considered that they might only be a couple of key pinning combinations.

    ECR 2016 Pictures

First off I would like to thank everyone at the ECR this year for your kindness and patience with me as a “Wannabe”. I was fortunate enough speak with quite a number of you and everyone was very hospitable to answering any question I had and also volunteering information or stories that I am sure will help me in finding and outfitting my truck. You may remember me carrying a camera every day so I thought I would share some of the pictures that I have taken. Most are the trucks, some are from the seminars and gatherings. I know that some trucks may appear more than once and if I missed your rig I apologize. I just posting a few so I may have more going up in the coming days, I just wanted to get some up this weekend. If this link doesn’t work, somebody let me know. https://goo.gl/photos/KrHrmR2DPE39hjgo9 Thanks again to everyone. John Morris
  14. I'm curious if the C13 is one of the ACERT motors (which I think has twin turbos) or is it the old single turbo engine?
  15. You can add my name to the list of first time attendees and future HDT owners. I dropped my registration in the mail over the weekend , so you should see it this week. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
