  1. While all of us have lost loved ones in Vietnam {the boy I was to marry was in Vietnam} maybe this will help clarify my incorrect to you, use of the word "Happy" & take the a bit of the hurt out of your loss. Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Unofficially, it marks the beginning of the summer season. So to me while I don't know anyone who would not bow a head or say a prayer for those lost, I will proudly wear my red white & blue and choose to participate in parades and gatherings and NO disrespect is or never was intended. Hugs, Di ,
  2. Dutch & I want to wish all forum Members a safe & Happy Memorial Day!!! We finally left hot {106 degree} Arizona & are settled in at Menifee, CA at a balmy 78 degrees. Dutch is recovering from his ankle replacement and after my surgery on June 5th we hope to get back on the road and just head out!!! Where will this holiday find y'all??? Hugs, Di
  3. Yep, Dutch doesn't have anything wrong with his bones, he just wears things out. Both ankles and both knees so we better be able to get back on the road in May????? As we now say, Gettin` Old Ain't For Sissies!!!! Hugs, Di
  4. Thanks for the post. I used "propane Guy" as I couldn't remember his or his companies name--not sure I even know mine right now Anyway, he did use a meter and checked things thoroughly. Dutch cleaned out everything thoroughly. It had bin working fine for 2-1/2 years so this just popped up. We'll just have to wait for that foil insulator kit Dometic is sending then try it while sitting still and hopefully we'll be traveling in the next 5 weeks and see if it works while going down the road. It's odd because we didn't have this issue in our Norcold and that lasted for almost 18 years of constant use. Our furnace and hot water on propane runs and heats just fine. Hugs, Di
  5. Thanks Ray, Dutch did clean everything out several times and we'll do it one more time when we're able to finally leave Casa Grande so that should be a good indication of if we got it. The burner flame was check by a "propane guy" at an RV park and he said it did not need to be adjusted. Dometic is sending us a foil insulator kit just in case somehow the flame is blowing out and restarting when we stop. Thanks again for the info. Will keep you posted. Hugs, Di
  6. I think you have been given a fantastic amount of good solid advice/suggestions. I'm glad to see you replies are a bit more on the upbeat/positive side. My suggestions are First take a breath and try to stay calm. Your daughter & your dog can sense your stress and this could contribute to their stress to a degree also. Our condolences on your daughters loss but I'm glad you both were able to free yourself from bad situations. Unless you are in harms way, I would suggest staying put for a bit just to let things settle down some. Bad wind and storms can be scary but we have all gone thru them, it's part of the lifestyle. It's hard to be in a park where there are no "neighbors" to talk to but that does happen. Once you gather yourself you can decide if you want to sell or stay with it. The final decision is yours. Please don't rush into a decision. 34' isn't all that big especially if your daughter and dog will continue to be with you. I like the thought of possibly your daughter following or leading you. Not while RV'ing but in our move from PA to FL we were in our moving rental truck & car and the CB or today, your phones on speaker are a great way to keep in touch. I agree with checking out the weather before you head out so you can choose your best route but remember, the weathermen aren't always right either. Great suggestions from others on possibly a driving school but I don't know your situation and the schools cost. You could also go to a large parking lot that is empty or another area just to practice up a bit. If you got from Florida to Texas, you do have some driving experience. If you sell and buy smaller you are, in my opinion, going to lose a lot of money, especially if you are thinking of getting larger again later. once you drive them off the lot, they lose $ value. One other suggestion that works well for us is that we stop every 2 hours for a break, walk or a bite to eat or drink. that way we are refreshed before heading out again. If we can't find a rest area, we pick a WM, mall etc that is roomy as we won't be there long. Please keep us posted and I hope you make a decision that is right for you. Remember, this was your dream but sometimes dreams have a few bumps in them. Hugs, Di
  7. Good timing for me with the Dometic fridge issue. I can't offer any suggestions to Phillip but I have the opposite issue. My 2 door fridge 2 way is doing just the opposite. It works great when we're plugged in but when on Propane, I can't get it to stay cool while we get to our next destination. We have checked before we head out and at every break and the flame is on. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Hugs, Di
  8. We just wanted to wish all the forum members a HAPPY EASTER We're still in Casa Grande, AZ for another 4 to 6 weeks but hopefully we can get back on the road soon. Where are you celebrating this holiday? Hugs, Di
  9. I wanted to give you a long overdue update on us. Dutch is recovering from his total ankle replacement surgery and it seems to be healing quite well. He should have the stitches removed next week and hopefully start PT. His main health issue that they have been working on since October still hasn't been diagnosed but we're still trying. They say, ankle wise, we should be able to leave AZ in about 4 weeks. Unfortunately, we won't be traveling far as I have to get back to S. Ca to have a 2nd heart Ablation as the 1st one didn't get everything & while they did re-pocket the pacemaker that was causing all my pain, they didn't see that they also had to move all the wires deeper inside as they are causing as much pain as the pacemaker. Not sure I have too much faith left in any doctors for me right now but I'll prevail. Out goal is to be able to get back on the road by end of May/beginning of June. Hugs, Di
  10. sorry-fast fingers make for a double post. Hugs, Di
  11. Doug, I'm happy to hear you completed you install. It is hard trying to help, clarify or explain things via e-mail but I'm glad you are all set up. Should you need me, I'm available 10 am to 10 pm 7 days a week {pacific time right now} at 941-416-0918. Hugs, Di
  12. Just wanted to make 2 comments. The 507 system has the sensors where the outer shell can be removed. The 510 that Doug bought has sealed & completely waterproof sensors so there is no taking anything off. If your system is taking that long to "find" the sensors, you may want to consider getting a repeater. We decided to add a repeater when we bought our 2015 Ram 3500 because of all the "stuff" that could cause interference in the dash. The added bonus was the monitor definitely found the sensors much faster. I will also help prevent a sensor from just disappearing once in awhile. Just a thought. Hugs, Di
  13. OK. This is the easiest way to get back into my time on the forums. Still can't stretch my right arm over my shoulder or stretch it out over the keypad for that long--yet!! Lets just say it's been a very l-o-n-g 2 years. Will update you all as I can but for now Dutch & I would like to wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day & safe travels if you are on the road this weekend. We're spending the long weekend at Lake Minden, Red Bluff & Mt. Shasta, California. Where will you be?? Hugs, Di
  14. Hi Sorry for the delay in posting but I'm recovering from having a pacemaker put in and the last 2 years have not been good to us healthwise. I hope to get back on the forums and start posting again hopefully in June. Unfortunately, I cannot remember {the only effects from my stroke last year} exactly how they had me make the changes to 61.5 & I think 77{?} but it was all from my control box that sits on top of our TV. Tech support at Winegard was really good about walking me thru making the changes. I do remember having to call them several months later to help me change it back once we needed to get the west coast feeds back again. I'm sorry I can't be of more help and the next time I do it, I'll make more notes so I can pass info on to others. Hugs, Di
