  1. Just a guess but I'd bet 15 years ago that almost all, if not all, "drinking water safe" hoses were white. You used the hose color to tell the difference. Hose fittings are made with a little bit of lead which leaches out into the water. A hose that is "drinking water safe" doesn't have fittings with lead. Today, "drinking water safe" hoses are made in a multitude of colors and styles and are labeled "drinking water safe". I've had white ones, blue ones and now Zero G grey ones, all labeled drinking water safe. I just looked on Amazon, there are 7 pages of them in all styles and colors. Today is a different day.
  2. When we had a 5th wheel I bought a Viair 400P-RV and moved it to the MH when we bought it. Always has worked well.
  3. I was born and raised in El Paso. I remember as a little boy my Mom's story about taking a wig of hers over to Juarez to have it redone. When she went back to pick it up the whole shop was gone. The "wig" was never seen again. Many more stolen car stories going into Mexico to never be seen again.
  4. It is the desert, no insulation, really hot in the summer, really cold in the winter.
  5. Sleep Number makes a RV King, it's expensive and worth it! We buy our sheets on Amazon. Be sure and read the fine print to verify they are in fact RV King sheet set.
  6. I love how the government calls it a refund. When an individual over pays their (in this case) taxes they are not getting a refund. It is a return of funds you over paid. If I buy something at a store that's $15.00 and I give then a $20.00 I don't get a $5.00 refund do I? I get my change back.
  7. I realize it's a bit like trying to predict where the football is going to bounce. BTW, I am also self-employed and I feel the issue constantly. It like everything else is a constant balancing process.
  8. Sorry, and I'm not being tacky. If you're getting a refund you're doing your taxes wrong. You have to much coming out during the year, your net should be as close to $0.00 as possible.
  9. NIRVC National Indoor RV Corp. They have a location in LV.
  10. We have WiFi Camp Pro 2 mounted on our batwing and it seems to me that when we connect to a wifi source, say in a park it reduces the speed dramatically. Sometimes by as much as 75% as opposed to connecting directly to the park. I think everything is set up correctly, is this normal? Is it this way with all boosters?
  11. I have always used my phone as a hotspot as needed when we travel and never thought much about getting a Jetpack. Is there a marked difference in a computer or a network for example, being connected to a phone hotspot for Wi-Fi or is it better to use a Jetpack to create the Wi-Fi? We use Verizon and I can add one for $10.00 to my existing account, if it's that beneficial.
  12. Are you sure? I've had 3 diesel F series Fords and the larger truck nozzles would fit but with little play.
  13. I've found that if you have a good signal w/o the booster and you turn on the booster it can degrade the performance, so if we don't need it we don't turn it on. On the other hand if we have a poor signal and turn it on it will improve the signal and performance. So the answer is ............... it depends
  14. This has been one of the most talked about things on RV Forums for almost a year. A search of the different forums will give you hours and hours of knowledge and insight. I will say with virtually no exceptions the reports a very positive.
  15. We stayed at Angel Fire RV Resort a few years ago and loved it. Angel Fire itself is a great little town and it's easy to get to Red River which is much more commercial or over to Taos or even Santa Fe. Grew up spending a great deal of time in southern NM, Cloudcroft is still the sleepy little town it's always been and Ruidoso is a great blend with lots to do and see but you can get back towards Alto and find some wonderful camping.
  16. Actually I see little to no value in Camping World overall. They have garnered a very poor reputation in almost every aspect of the RV industry, customer service, knowledge, rv sales, financing, roadside assistance, repair and on and on. You'll find usually to have double digit negative press to almost no positive press. I just got the impression with them it was only about how much $$ they could make off me, so we quit doing business with them.
  17. We tow my F150 4X4. The transfer case is electronically put into neutral and the transmission is left in neutral. We've had no issues with it.
  18. We have used AARP/Hartford for several years and have had 2 claims, one on the house and the other on a Jayco trailer which were taken care of promptly. We recently bought our first MH and called them to get it setup, one of the questions they asked was if we were going full-time, I said no. I asked why and she told me they do not issue to fulltimers.
  19. Correct, it closed a year or two as did the one on the south side of town, it's now an apartment complex. Winstar might be a good idea for passing thru, when you check in you used to be able to join the club deal and get a free night. Another is a KOA a little north of Sanger but it's $30 something a night.
  20. The first few years we RV'd we didn't an advantage to use PA so we didn't join. However we started going to Louisiana frequently and the park we like is a PA park so the membership more than pays for itself. Also we stay in two different PA parks coming and going to Louisiana so that's a bonus. It's different for everybody.
  21. We let our KOA deal lapse several years ago, we just felt that the value of KOA didn't add up to their pricing. We stayed in several KOA's and honestly only 2 we actually liked. One in Bastrop and the other on the east side of OKC. If we are traveling and just making an overnight pit stop we always look at Passport America first and have found some really neat places along the way. If we are staying longer and well even overnight we always look at RV Park Reviews to see what others think about a park and they usually have the most weight on our decision on whether we stay one place or another. Oh, and Google especially for mapping and satellite views of everywhere we are going to stop.
  22. We have a Champion 3100W and have always had very good luck with it. That said we very seldom use it but it has never failed us. If I had it to do over again I would have bought 2 2000w units and paired them together when needed. The debate between buying a Honda/Yamaha gen or a Champion is a hard one because the Honda/Yamaha in many cases is twice the cost of a Champion so I say to each his own.
  23. I guess I'm the oddball our RhinoFlex failed in less than a year and I didn't really like how it hooked up at the ground sewer connection. We bought a Valterra Dominator kit and have been very pleased with it. When the Dominator quits we might go with the WasterMaster.
  24. I find this absolutely fascinating but I don't have a clue what you're saying.
