Yes Barb, he does have a degree, at the masters level, actually two, one specializing in waste water and fresh water management. He is a licensed operator of a city municipal water system. The dawn, which is my idea not his, is only used to wash the tank when traveling to help with the level sensors. You don’t put it in while stationary. And yes your tank will always have bacteria as you have said but the antibacterial soap will help minimize the smell a little by washing the tank. But as you have also said water and ventilation are more important.

My brother is a liscensed waste water technician who works for a city water department. As he stated to me, an RV black tank is NOT a septic tank, it is only a holding tank. Using Ridex is a waste of money because the waste in the tank is not sitting in the tank long enough for Ridex to be effective. He said to eliminate foul odor use lots of water. Also the use of Dawn soap when moving from one location to another will wash the tank and help with the level monitors, internal or external, by keeping the walls of the tank clean. Using antibacterial is good because it is the bacteria that causes the smell. Once flushed into the sewer system or a septic tank your wast will mix in and bacteria will be reintroduced. You don’t want bacteria in your holding tank.

Liability is your greatest risk, not the value of the RV. What you are insuring against, especially if you are fulltime and do not have a physical residence with homeowners insurance, is the cost of someone getting injured because of your negligence. Not just a slip and fall but any injury, moving or parked, and a law suit for a million dollars.

Are you going to be a fulltimer? If so you want a bank that has locations almost everywhere you will travel. I do most of my banking online now but I keep my Wells Fargo accounts I had in CA. There is a Wells Fargo branch almost everywhere including one in downtown Rapid City. I just changed my address to the Escapees address but keep the same accounts.

I bought my Jeep in ID and my Class A in AZ. Both transactions were handled via the mail. I just called Pennington County and got the payment info (sales tax and registration fees) on the phone, mailed the documents and a check in to them and they mailed me back the registration and the plates. No need to pay a mail service for assistance.

Oh, I forgot, it’s not close to the city of Riverside, but it is in Riverside County, Escapees has a Co-Op near Temachula. I believe they have a boondocking area. I would call them.

Even with handicapped plates you may be allowed to park but not sleep in your vehicle. Are there any Casinos in the area. If so they often allow overnight parking and sometimes you can stay several nights. Check out freecampgrounds.net, compendium.com, and campground reviews.com.

I would first try an RV Salvage. There are many but the only one I know of is AZ RV Salvage in Phoenix, but there are others. Try a Google search. If you can’t find one then call the manufacturer of your RV and see if they sell them or can refer you to their supplier. If all else fails call a Dealer and maybe their parts dept has one, but I would do this as a last resort.

Well after speaking to the manufacturer I have been advised that the latex mattress is much more firm than the gell foam. I don’t want a soft mattress but don’t want a real hard one either. I have ordered the 5.5 inch RV King (80x72) with an extra 3 inch of foam for a total of 8 inches of gell. It’s 1.5 inch of soft gell 3.5 inches of medium and 3.5 inches of firm gell on the bottom. The hinge is made of fabric so no worries of feeling it. All is covered with an organic topper. It will take 7-10 days to arrive and I will let you know how it feels when I get it. I have a 2015 Itasca 42 QD that came with a air mattress that needs to be replaced. The air bag leeks, the pump is intermittent and the foam box the air bag sits in is coming apart. I do not want to replace it with another air mattress. After doing some research I have found a company called Mattress Insider that is highly recommended. They have a gel foam mattress and a latex mattress. Not sure which to get. Has anyone purchased a mattress from this company and if so which one, the gel foam or the latex? Also in order to bring the bedroom slide in I have to raise the head of the bed. Will either be able to fold a little to bring up the head of the bed. The manufacturer says they can put a hindge in the bed but I’m afraid I will feel the hinge while sleeping on the bed and would rather not have a hinge installed in the mattress. Thanks again Velos. I did go on that site already and entered my info, name etc, and it was all blank. Although I applied in the past I downloaded an Absentee Ballot Application and will send it in. I have to call the Pennington County Register of Voters to get an address and verify that the Application needs to be notarized. I don’t remember having it notarized before but I did it in person last time. I think if I include a copy of my SD Drivers liscense I don’t need to notarize it. Not sure, the form is ambiguous.

As Kirk says it’s just like buying a used car. Get pre approved for the loan first for an amount that you think you will need after your down payment that you will give to the seller. Make sure you see the sellers registration to make sure there is no lien before you give them any money. If the seller has clear title your financial institution will send the seller payment and the seller will send the title to them. If there is a lienholder your lender will make arrangements to have the lienholder send the title to them and receive the loan proceeds. Some lenders won’t send the payment to a seller until they have the title in hand so your seller will need to cooperate with your lender.

Great idea by the bank. Before I went full time I lived in San Diego. Once a year I had a bon fire at the beach and called it fire burning day. I invited everyone to come and bring old bank statements and tax returns to burn. BYOB.

No inspection required in So Dakota. Nor do you need a special drivers liscense in SD to drive any recreational vehicle. No State income tax either. But if you are not on Medicare there are only few health insurance options.

How often do you have to fill out the SD Absentee Ballot Application? I have filed out one before I person and received my absentee ballot in the mail but I have not received a ballot for this years primary yet. Do I need to refile again for 2020? I also see that the application needs to notarized. I don’t remember this requirement in the past! Additionally, where do I mail the application to, Pennington County or the State Capital?

Does that also apply to the Escapees South Dakota address? I usually get an absentee ballot but have not got one yet this year.

I am thinking of visiting Mathews Arm camp ground in Shenandoah NP in May 2020. I have a 42 foot Class A pulling a Jeep Wrangler. Has anyone with a big rig driven there? Any problems with access especially on Skyline Dr? It looks like the north entrance is no problem. I have heard that there is a tunnel going in from the south.

Do you know if they would consider a single person?

I have DirecTv with three TVs using a Travler Dish. My living room TV and outside TV are connected and have the same station but my bedroom TV has its own receiver and can be run separate. I am solo and only watch one TV at a time so it doesn’t matter to me.

As a lawyer I always wanted to be on a jury to experience it. But every time I was summoned I was excused by one side or the other. Once the Judge excused me because we had been out drinking together in the past, lol lol lol. I have done several trials where I had to pick a jury.
