  1. Glenn, I'm not sure if you are referring to the Dometic 320 but our foot pedal works the same as the old Thetford we had; half way down opens the water valve and all the way down flushes the toilet. Greg
  2. The Thetford manual has no idea how and where your RV manufacturer installed and placed you toilet so if you can get to the assembly needing repairs go for it. From my Thetford repair experiences (and there were many) the best repair is to replace it with a Seeland (now Dometic) model 320. Greg
  3. Mike's in Bremen, IN does, I've been in it in 2012. I think most RV paint shops do as they paint a lot of RVs for the manufacturers. There are always vehicles sitting in their lot for painting. They do a lot of commercial trucks too. Greg
  4. Mike's Custom painting baked ours. We were in the paint & baking room after it was done and before they pulled it out. According to their website its baked at 140 degrees for 45 minutes. Greg
  5. We have a friend who has his decals removed and painted on in Mexico a few years ago, it was inexpensive. The work was done on the beach outdoors. From a distance it looked good but when you were closer you could see imperfections, runs, sand, etc. He had a full body paint job last year in Bremen, IN and is now happy. Mexico had no enclosed paint building and didn't bake the paint on, maybe there are places in Mexico that are properly equipped? Greg
  6. If you have a RV painted you can have any design you desire, no "outrageous swirls and decals". I do agree that if you purchase a new RV the manufacturers often get carried away with swirls and such, much too busy for me. Greg
  7. richffa......addressing your concerns. When ours was painted in 2012 we didn't choose dark colors so being in the sun was no different than the original white & gray from NuWa. We had the fifth wheel kind of painted to match the white and tan (white top & tan bottom) of our 2007 F350 and added some burgundy. We even used Ford color codes so the paint is easily available from NAPA. I don't understand why RVers want their RVs painted so dark, maybe it's the manufacturers? Mikes Painting was using what he called diamond shield (to me it was just a sheet of adhesive clear plastic) as a stone guard on the front bottom of the trailer. It did chip the plastic so we had him remove it this spring and apply the newer stuff he now uses that looks like spray in bed liner that is colored to match the custom paint job he did 5 years ago. This is working MUCH better. Greg
  8. After 5 years our decals and gel coat were looking bad. We had Mikes Custom Painting in Bremen, IN paint our 5th wheel in 2012 with automotive paint. This was a great decision on our part. It looks now like it did the day they painted it. I wash it but never wax it. It remains cleaner, bugs come off the cap easier, back streaks under down spouts wash off easily, we love the unique design and colors. Our friends know the fifth wheel is 10+ years old but new people think the RV is new. We think the cost was worth it if you have a good quality RV and plan to keep it. Greg
  9. Assuming you have a short hallway between the rooms place a rod with a spring inside across the hall and hang a heavy curtain from floor to ceiling. We do this to keep the downstairs living area warm andcut off the heat from rising into the bedroom. The curtain allows our cat to move around. Greg
  10. Get an 8 or 10 foot 4x4 or better yet a 4x6 (which is what we use) cut it into sections larger than your levelers own foot pads, use long bolts to bolt 2 or 3 sections together, put a piece of rope or a metal door handle on one side, and place them under your levelers feet. It works great, we carry them in a plastic milk crate in the truck bed and it saves the levelers 4 or 6 inches of travel. Or you can purchase expensive heavy duty pads here: http://www.adventurerv.net/super-dolly-bus-leveling-stabilizer-jack-pads-p-4312.html?osCsid=21h0gq1v9e01n9hlq9nb5dj4h1 We have Quadra's Big Foot auto leveling system but I still use the 4x6 wood blocks on grass, and loose dirt or gravel; especially is it's uneven ground. Greg
  11. We have been using them for the past year, great if you travel a lot. They are very easy, unfold, set on the top OEM step, adjust 2 bottom levelers and install the hand rail, less than 5 minutes. When we leave just take the hand rails off, lift the steps off the OEM step, fold them up and I place them in the truck bed behind the hitch. They are aluminum so are light. Greg
  12. If you travel and want steps that are easy to set up and have a double wide top step........... http://rv-co.com/index.html
  13. Why do you want "a special line of furniture just for fifth wheel and motor coaches"? Unless you have serious RV space restrictions household furniture gives you a MUCH greater selection. There are Amish furniture makers in the Elkhart, IN area that make custom furniture for RVs too. Greg
  14. I can not talk about furniture supplied with a DRV fifth wheel but I do think RV furniture in general is substandard quality. Also, one size supplied by a manufactured does not fit everyone. We deleted most of the NuWa furniture when we ordered our fifth wheel. We installed comfortable La-Z-Boy recliners that fit us and a comfortable Broyhill sofa rather than the hide a bed we wouldn't use. The very few times we need another bed we used an inflatable air mattress on the floor or the sofa as a single sleeper. It was a challenge to find the right sofa for the RV but it also fit through the door easily. Greg
