  1. Self powered travel trailer - wave of the future? When I saw that^ , my first thought was : don't they call that a motor home ? LOL
  2. I wonder if you couldn't modify a 4" computer cooling fan to do an acceptable job .
  3. I see . From a previous thread , you want to relocate your electric service connect point ? I used a UF type wire/cable when I rewired the power to the front section of our Monaco . That was about 11 years ago and there's never been any sign of malfunction .
  4. I think you meant to say ROMEX and It's likely over 7 bucks a foot . That's way over 200 bucks for 30 feet , without any ends applied . Amazon has a Camco 30 foot 50 amp complete extension cord for about 130 bucks . https://www.amazon.com/Camco-Extension-PowerGrip-Convenient-Carrying/dp/B0024ECIP0 Anyway , I carry a 65 foot 50 amp extension . I've used it more than enough to make it worthwhile .
  5. I use Facebook for the games . I do have an account , but only 2 friends : DW and a niece . No pictures or any kind of 'normal' / usual activity , other than my game playing . DW does use the site for games and communication with some family and friends .
  6. Today I repaired the roof access ladder on our Monaco . Three of the six plastic receivers had loosened from their respective standoffs , making for an interesting climb . All the screws used in those receivers were rusted . I figured the remaining three receivers would likely soon follow the loosening act . Anyway , I had screws too short and screws too long , but none just right . Off to the hardware I went , where I taught a couple new employees what round head screws looked like , what barbed T nuts are and what ( rubber ) conical faucet washers can be used for . Back at the 'ranch' , I removed all the plastic receivers and rusted screws which broke rater than turn out . The nuts that those screws originally turned into where even more rusted that the screws , so useless . The receivers were still in decent condition . I used a hacksaw and made six cuts in each of the barrels of the receivers . The cuts allow the barrels , which slide into the standoffs , to spread . I inserted the screws through the ladder uprights . The screws then went through the receivers and the conical washers and finally into the barbed T nuts . I placed each receiver and parts into their respective standoffs and thoroughly tightened the screws . The end result is a solid , good looking ladder that I have no qualms climbing .
  7. FYI : This page contains a THREAD . Your response is a POST in that thread . Just thought I'd stir the pot , too .
  8. Our Monaco has a rear facing camera with a microphone . DW can be well behind and I can hear her directions . Sometimes mirrors don't do much good , specially when the sun is in just the right place to make them useless . Anyway , I often back the rig , with trailer attached . About the only time I get into much trouble is in loose gravel as the trailer takes very small corrections to right a direction and the gravel often will cause an over correction . As for 'helping' other drivers , I usually watch first ... If it's obvious that they need help , I offer or sometimes just step in and ask them where they want to end up , then 'help' .
  9. In case you didn't know : Electrical connections should be bare metal shiny clean and scratch tight . And , lube is for bearings and things that move , not electrical connections .
  10. Hmm , I just uploaded the image below directly form the picture file on my laptop . Granted the allowed image size is way too limiting .
  11. Link worked fine . Why not just post the pic ? Copy the image address and paste it in the reply box .
  12. We only have 45 gallon tanks , grey and black .
  13. I don't know about that Army thing . I was in the Air Force . I guess we had a little higher standard . LOL As for the 'side bag' , that simply doesn't seem very necessary . We , DW and I , can pretty easily do 2 weeks before a dump is required . And , no clogs or 'side bags' involved .
  14. Sorry to disagree , Ray , but we've been putting TP down the tube for the last 13 years without a single issue with tissue . See what I did there ? And , we aren't real picky as to which paper we use . So long as it is septic safe . Just use twice as much water than you think needed . The more paper used , the more water needed . A lot of 'folks' use way too much paper for the job at hand , which is likely half the reason clogs . Honestly , it's about as simple as 3 seconds time .
  15. Maybe you should change your approach just a tiny bit and apply pitch to the total surface of the vehicle and live with a non-factory finish . LOL It may not look as pretty , but ...
  16. I run steer / all position tires front and back on our Monaco . I've been stuck a couple times , because of soft ground and aided by the moisture . I doubt that lug tires would have prevented or even helped . Now , if I have any question as to solidity of my path , I get out and walk the ground . Looks can be deceiving .
  17. Maybe a bidet ? And , it's a beautiful day here in the neighborhood . Which ever , details are needed , unless this is simply spam . Then , well ...
  18. Does it turn over , but not start or ??? Be specific .
  19. Our 2000 Monaco Monarch has a 2nd generation V10 and gets 9 - 10 MPG . I pull a loaded utility trailer . Mostly run 55 - 60 MPH . I do let it get up to around 70ish on a long downhill , sometimes .
  20. Can't say I ever saw a pot smoker in any kind of fight . More likely they'd just laugh and say pass the munchies .
  21. Depending on the type of frame material , I usually try the hole fill and reset the screw . If that doesn't do the trick , I fill the hole with what ever and use a longer screw that gets into new material . That generally does good .
