  1. How many people live full-time in an RV?

We have been residents of Polk County for 25 years and have never voted in a local election as we don't know local issues. National, you bet. jim
  2. I have the formula for setting the switches on a Stewart-Warner 10 switch speedo head, but not for 12.the following is info you need, Axle ratio Tire revs per mile(ck tire manufacturer for that infi) speedo pulses per mile-- PPM x AR X N(which should be 16 for SW heads There is a table that uses PPM to set the switches. if by chance you find you have a SW and use the info, I can take the PPM's and find your setting in the chart, just post and I will monitor. Jim
  3. Fresh Water Tank Sanitation

You said you had hooked up to the water supply and got the smell. If so, you are not using your water tank for water. unless you have the pump on, water from the tank is not being supplied to your system. The other suggestions about the tand are spot on.
  4. Preparing to be a NEWBE

CDL=Commercial Drivers License, you are NOT commercial. Your mechanic needs to bone up on subjects he offers opinions on.
  5. RV trip wizard use when no internet?

But a hot spot won't help if you are using it to monitor the route, got to have a GPS for real time route poop.
  6. RV trip wizard use when no internet?

You don't need internet for routes, Download CoPilot for laptops. Once you install, you can plan routes and use the GPS receiver connected to laptop, no internet needed.
  7. Replacing Fridge

If the Norcold is in the same place, there should be no difference in access to it. We have a Whirlpool that is also 60" tall and sits over the heater, no problem is getting in the freezer. Be sure to secure the base before travel it could shift. Best move we have made. You might also go to Wally and get a remote sender and readout for temp monitoring while traveling. Jim
  8. My Life is Happy Chaos - Advice Please :D

Another point aside from Kirk's, forget about obtaining any RV with the thought of good resale value, won't happen. Suggest you and friend rent say, a Class C for a weekend and get a feel for what coming. DO NOT jump into anything without a lot of research. Jim
  9. Best Truck To Tow 38' Trailer?

Adele, first, forget the amount the truck is rated to tow, instead the amount of weight the truck can carry(pin weight) is what you need to be concerned about. Almost any PU can tow the weight but will not carry the load. Find the GVWR of your trailer, take 20% of that weight as your pin weight. Now you need to do research on trucks you are interested in. I suggest you look at 350/3500 class trucks instead of 250/2500 as cost is little different and will park in same space as the 250/2500 truck. Jim
  10. Easier to buy the semi than getting the moving permit

Chef Roy's is wonderful, under no circumstance pass up the Turtle dessert.
  11. Condensation problem

This is a little late for some, but, when we ordered our current trailer (NuWa), we had the bedroom glass sliding doors replaced with wooden louvered doors, mainly for air circulation (and not having to look at old nekkid bodies). So far we have not had any evidence of moisture in the closet in 19 years. One could possibly find such doors at big box supply stores and since most are more narrow than the standard slider in RV's, join two together for each door. Require some work, but would solve moisture problem. Jim
  12. Mor/Ryde Suspension

For correct answer, just call Mor/ryde, no guessing
  13. RV EPDM Roof Coating Advice (Liquid Rubber)

I used 1 gal cans because.... easier to get on roof, use a pouring lid, you can seal up lid after pouring amount you are using, easier to mix a 1 gallon than 5, controlling left over easier, be sure to have a heavy duty drill to mix with. Good luck Jim
  14. Rv Insurance Companies

Can't help with Fla, we are in TX, and use National Interstate to insure 5th wheela and FL60 Freightliner. I am sure it is not the same in Fla, but call and see. Jim
  15. Headlight conversion

Problem solved!!! DW said "did you try it with the engine running?", no I answered, engine running shouldn't have anything to do with the lights. Wrong! cranked up, lights went to low beam/high beam. Still no clear on why, but meal out is in her future. Thanks all, Jim
