I'd clean it out with a disinfectant, bleach or something similar.  Shockwave is what we use to kill mould on disasters.  Then if you want pull the hatch and molding then paint inside with Kilz.  We use it to seal walls after a fire/smoke damage.

It isn't serious, just icky when wet.
