I wouldn't splice in a section. I think you want to replace each cable. I wouldn't want to buy them from the dealer either. Make your own. Buy a $48 hydraulic crimper at Harbor Freight. Make your own cables up. You'll be happier.
  3. Well you didn't mention the Smart in your original post. So I didn't feel the need to update that they've gotten a new one that is no longer black. Hahahahaahh. Yes, they're a great couple.

Or get a full size Truck Conversion Motorhome and then pull a car for tourist duty. https://www.facebook.com/groups/452028681672329/

How about a toterhome? Plenty of room rollin' down the road. And then when camping some can sleep in the truck and some in the trailer. A bit longer than an HDT but not much. This one is on the longer side but you get the idea: http://racingrvs.com/view/Renegade/Toter/269.html
  7. There is also a Facebook group for the Truck Conversion Motorhomes people: https://www.facebook.com/groups/452028681672329/
  8. Hey Dave, are those seats Bostrom? I've got Bostrom. One of my seats I bought off a guy on craigslist and that one wouldn't recline very far. I found out there is a small bolt and stop block fitted into the recline mechanism. You need to push up the seat cover on the back rest to see the recline mechanism. Look for a 5/32" allen head screw. That screw goes through and holds the stop block. Remove it. Should recline fully then. Assuming you've got a Bostrom seat that is. Hope this helps.
  9. Even if you don't need any help, please call me when you know your schedule. I'd love to tag along and see the truck with you. Maybe Dan and I can have dinner with you?
  10. Is the seller going to pick you up at the airport? I live 10 minutes from MSP and would be happy to pick you up and drive you down to the truck. If I've got no conflicts during your visit that is. I'll p/m you my number and please give me a call and see if I can help out.
  11. I think it's an apples to oranges comparison. For our travels we often have friends or family travel with us. Motorhome is the only way to go for that. So, what's the most powerful motorhome? A "Truck Conversion Motorhome" of course. Think HDT with a living quarters box on it.
  12. Aw dang, I'm only a few miles from there too. Dan beat me to it. He's more knowledgeable about these things anyhow. Hey, what about Dan's truck? Isn't that for sale?
  13. Well, I ordered the Road King shocks. They claim it will take 2-3 weeks to get them. So I'm going to have to run the worn out Gabriels until they come in. I'll post my findings when I get them mounted up.
