We will be stopping in Las Vegas on our way to Oregon and Washington. We will stay for a month to visit relatives. We don't really want to stay in the city. We'd prefer to stay on the outskirts within a 20 mile radius. Any suggestions for clean, inexpensive campgrounds would be appreciated.

I am familiar with rvreviews.com. I use it extensively.

If your looking for fhu's, no laundry,clubhouse or pool just a clean safe spot to stay. Clark County Shooting Park is at the far north end of Decatur is very nice. Rates are $20.00 per night, they will say its a 14 day maximum stay however you can stay longer. We have hosted here since mid November and have enjoyed it.And they have a work kamping program.

You might try SAM's TOWN, they have A RV park/campsite. Check there WEB site and go to RV Site, and check there rates. they seem to vary by season.
Also if you are Military retired, or have current DOD card, then check out Desert Eagle RV park (military famcamp) on NELLIS AFB

If you don't mind NO hookups the Boulder Beach CG in the Lake Meads NRA is great. The sites are roomy, restrooms are well kept, dump station and fresh water faucets for filling every couple of sites. If you have a golden age pass it is $5 per night and they have a 30 day stay limit. Lots of shade trees and a beautiful vies of Lake Mead. Bike and hiking paths and boat ramp.

We always liked Arizona Charlie's but I notice that the rates are considerably higher than when we were last there. We also sometimes stayed at Sam's Town and they seem to be more reasonably priced.

Sam's Town is where we are. Good rates for Vegas and free shuttles to Downtown and the Strip.

Las Vegas Resort is next door. All 3 are running a weekly special.

I wished I had know we might have an "IN" at the Clark County Shooting Park.
The web site said you had to be involved in shooting and we could figure other than maybe being armed, that we were involved in shooting.

George, we like staying at Sam's, both for the Casino itself, and for the shuttle. I'd stay at Clark County Shooting if my dog was not so afraid of gunfire.

We stayed at Duck Creek, nothing special, a bit noisy, but just for one night. Not many RV parks in Vegas it seems.

We have overnighted several times at Hitchin' Post RV Park in N. Las Vegas on our way through. Nothing special but easy access, affordable, very clean and gated for security. It helps if you like the roar and scream of an F-16, as it's very near Nellis AFB.

While it is a bit more than 20 miles (closer to 55) there are electric/water as well as no hook up sites at the Valley of Fire State Park. I enjoyed a week stay there last spring.

VOF is a beautiful park but it would be very inconvenient for them visiting relatives in LV. It would certainly make a nice stop, though.

If you are an Elks Lodge member, the Boulder City Elks has a nice RV park with FHU. Easy in and out to Sin City and Henderson.

Actually now that we rebooked for a week and went from a 70' space to a 40' space it is only $164.64 for this week. You can get free meals with their "Fun Book" too. Ask for it and you may have to demand it. I asked once and was refused saying you had to know what promotion to ask for. I had to send my pretty wife to ask the last time and she got one.

$164.64 with free shuttles, free buffet and and a couple of other freebees, isn't too bad a price in Vegas if you are still looking.

After we got the Fun Book we could have saved $10 yesterday on that one coupon.

Unfortunately we are both getting a bug of some type. The bug is so far hitting the tummy and the chest, I hope we can rest it away, so we can go back to tearing up Vegas!!

I have stayed at Sam's too and found it to be a great value at a good location, but a bit tight.

I have heard that Main Street Station downtown has an inexpensive park.

I can do that, big week here with the ATA shoot this week, every spot full,dry camping in the archery range parking lot and a waiting list.

From what I see, they are just wanting the spots rented, if they get to the point that they are booked they will start enforcing the 14 day rule along with asking that you are involved in shooting. However they rent weapons so you could always shoot some.

That is good to know. It is starting to look like the gennie problem may keep us here past two weeks.

Ive stayed at Main Street Station over last New Years.....15.00-16.00 a night and a Great location for Downtown Vegas. Side by Side hookups on the pull thru's and Not a place where we'll be sitting out under your awning but for the price, I actually loved it.
