We retired in 2005 and spent 8 months on the road and traveled extensively every year afterword, but we didn't sell the house until 2009. So, are we class of 2005 or 2009 or both or does it matter?

Happy trails,

The Sundowners

The class is the year you went FT, but the classes are a BOF. Hope that helps.

The mission of the class concept was to put people together with other people who were experiencing the same things at the same time: selling a house, changing domicile, buying a fulltiming rig, obtaining a mail service, buying health insurance, etc. Members would be able to share their experiences and help others by sharing what worked for them, etc. We also could share plans for keeping in touch with family and friends. Once we all got on the road, we would plan get-to-gethers periodically in order to reinforce our bond and keep up to date with each other. In addition it provided a network of new friends we could touch base with as we criss-crossed the country.

So you need to ask yourself, which group would you most closely identify with? I would think since you made the clean break to fulltiming in 2009 by selling your stix and brix, that would be the group with whom you would have the most in common.

Welcome, Sundowners!! We started out in the class of '08' as we sold our house in Feb of that year. Then we got the house back in '09' :o , and had to sell it again. We sold it again in '11', and it is gone for good now (read that no owner finnancing)! . So I guess that makes us '08'- '11's. Anyway, join us as we continue to have fun and make new friends. We're in Yuma now with the 08 09 group. Steve

We partially went in 2009 and claimed the class of 2010 but since that class isn't doing much we met up with the class of 2008/2009 in Quartzsite. We had a great time. That is the group that is in Yuma right now. We are not there at this time but it is a great group to join up with. You will enjoy them. Lyn and Ed

Hey everyone! Well, we're hoping to be in the Class of 2012, as we just listed out house for sale and, once sold and closed, will purchase our new 5er and hit the road!! Have been seeing all the posts about classes and was glad to find this one to clarify what class we belonged to. Hope to be seeing some of you on the road soon. Planning on doing a boot camp as soon as possible and hoping to make it to Sedalia.

OK,Riddle this.....

I never owned a stix n brix.

I've been out on the road since 1980.

The biggest part of the time I lived in my own rig.

BUT Sometimes , when circumstances dictated , I lived in motels and hotels , equipment trucks and tour buses going down the road , ferry boats , trains ,
( sometimes with and sometimes without the rv) , musician's homes , promoter's homes , even an occasional tent just to get away during downtime. ;) Has anyone figured out how to get their rig onto a cruise ship?(they said no!)

So , my question is , what class am I in ?

The simple answer is this....with any group you feel comfortable...Heaven knows the 2007 crowd has "adopted" lots of folks at our gatherings.

Thanks for the invite Nana.
I read many of the postings from the '07 and '08 classes last winter in Q. Sure sounded like you all were having a lot of fun.
And I guess Dutchman's answer works too. That was kind of the point I wanted to make.
Anywhere I park ,boondocking or not, I'm always happy when I'm surrounded by SKPs !!!! Just feels like family ;) Even with the occasional weird cousin,, I'm not naming names,,you know who you are.
Ok , OK , I'm probably on that list... B) B) B)
stay tuned
