We have has several items returned as undeliverable. They seem to have had the correct addresses. Has anyone else had a problem like this? No one seems able to tell us why these things were returned.

I presume you mean items mailed to you at your SKP address??

We've had no problems in almost seven years of using our SKP mailing address. Even some items w/o our box # have come through just fine.

Yes. We have been with them for 6 years and have never had any problems either. We can't say that any more. It may not be them. The items were returned as undeliverable. My frustration is that I can't discover why they were unable to deliver them. The USPS show them as delivered, but we have been notified by the shipper that they have been returned. We of course haven't received them. We also have one on Fed EX the same way.

We have done very few parcels via out SKP address. The few we have done made it ok. My only guess would be a sub delivery person who didn't know where the address is...

Call the club office and ask a mail person there about the addresses you are having problems with, they should be able to tell you what the problem was.

Because I am cheap, I have any boxes, parcels, etc. sent to the address that Escapees is sending the mail to. This speeds up the service as well as being cheaper.

I have had lots of stuff sent to "Mike Wilson, Campsite # 23 (or whatever it is), XYZ RV Park, Anywhere, TX USA. It seems to make its way.

You have got to hand it to those FedEx and UPS drivers.

I haven't had ANYTHING chunked over the fence.

The only delay we have ever had w/ r skp mail was 9/11 and all mail service was affected. Could it be the timing? with the holidays this month? Though the US postal service is reducing service centers and staff... the reductions correspond with the continuing decline in mail volumes over the last few years.

"The amount of mail delivered by the Postal Service has been falling, hurt by the recession and the increasing use of electronic communications by individuals and businesses. Mail volumes have dropped more than 20 percent in the last five years."

We too commend UPS and FedX for finding our campsites as we travel and enjoy the convenience of package delivery to our site.

We have used the Escapee mail service since early in 2000 and the only time that we have ever had mail problems was once when I give directions by email and made a typo in the address I requested mail sent to. The only items that we have ever had the mail room refuse were things which require refrigeration, which they have no provision for and so do not accept. I believe that Stanley has given the best advice in that you need to call and discuss the problem with them. You will find that they are very helpful and will make every effort to help determine just what the issue may be.

If you have any questions, please be sure to read through the FAQ section provided, call 888-757-2582 or simply e-mail mailservice@escapees.com.

This comes from the Escapee website. Please do return and let us all know what happens when you contact the mail room.

Interesting post, but I am not sure what it has to do with the OP's problem.

So you are saying that you have had things sent to your Escapees address and the USPS shows them delivered, but they have been returned by UPSP to the shipper? You need to call the Escapees mail service and go over the specifics with them giving them as much information as possible so that they can see what happened and why the items never got to Livingston. Never have had a problem with items not getting to our Escapees address.

Since 1998/99 (CRS) with NO problem. Since we have a S&B out at Lake Livingston we do also, for mostly unimportant stuff, use the USPS, and have had a couple of problems with the Livingston PO deliveries.

The Escapees' Mail service was not at fault. In one case the USPS simply returned a package as undeliverable and showed on their tracking info that it had been delivered. In the second case the company shipping the material did not ship the merchandise when they said, and they provided us with an incorrect tracking number. Both cases have been resolved with no loss to us but with a great deal of red tape and distress.

December has been a difficult month for us. We had this mess to deal with and a subscription information provider, Stratfor, was hacked and our vital statistics including email address, passwords, credit card information, and mailing address were published on the internet.

We have spent the last half of December scrambling trying to deal with huge bureaucracies and lost in voice mail labyrinths

I was just wondering if you got this straightened out? Have you talked with the Escapee's mail room?

Thanks for getting back to us, I was pretty sure it wasn't a fault of Escapees. Sorry you got caught in the Stratfor mess.

I just love the Stratfor folks, their latest press releases are touting that it was only 40,000 lost addresses not 80,000 and a lot of the credit cards they lost were expired anyway.

Well you can bet you sweet backside we won't ever do any business with them again. I hope this causes them to go out of business. Even I, an ignorant ex tecky, store sensitive information in an encrypted file. Our credit card had expired, but still we had to get a replacement as the number was compromised. I was notified by the hacker, I think. Anyway some guy in Europe sent me an email and told me about the problem. I still have not heard anything from Stratfor.
