I have thought about this one for a while and recent threads about ages has made me really curious about this. I have chosen to make any form of partnered for life to be grouped into the married category to avoid conflict and because the entire point is your style of travel and not personal preferences or political and religious beliefs.

Our common ground here is our love of RV traveling and a common interest in that and I hope to avoid any debates about anyone's choice of lifestyle. In our world of RVing, it really should not matter.

If you would like, a few comments about your history would be encouraged as I think that many of us will find that to be of interest. I put this in the fulltimer side of the forums but would include anyone who used to be fulltime, or who plans to be fulltime in the near future.

For myself, we have been married for 48 years. I am presently 68 and Pam is about 15 months older than I. We were fulltime for 11 years and are now transitioning back to part time. We hit the road again in about a month and expect to be gone for about 5 months.

We are married, both 49. I couldn't answer the poll since there wasn't a 40-50 age category ;-)

This year we celebrate our 20th anniversary. We've been RVing since 2000 and this is our second RV. We started with a Lazy Daze class C so we could take our elderly dogs on vacation with us rather than board them. We found we enjoyed RVing so much that 4 years later we bought a Foretravel so we would have more space for longer trips, downsized to a significantly smaller house and lot, and now spend as much time on the road as we do at home. The dogs who inspired all this are no longer with us, but we have 3 rescues who keep us entertained.

I don't know if we'll ever fulltime, but we do tend to take multi-month-long trips.

Married - Jim is 71 and I'm 61. Yeah, he robbed the cradle. But we've only been married 25 years. Now in our third year of full timing and can't imagine living any other way. At least until age decides otherwise.

We've been married 47 years - ages 68 & 69. Almost 16 years of full-timing for us and we still like to move around. No intention of stopping. We were "downsized" from our company in early years. We bought a 27' trailer the first Fall and took off for Florida for 4 months. During our return wifie said "we're going back to that huge house with so many things that we didn't need for 4 months". "Let's sell it all" We did that summer and haven't regretted it for a minute. We're from Michigan but spend most of our time in the gorgeous western states. Luckily our daughters have moved west, too - not because of us but for their jobs. We have volunteered for state and national parks and a few "oddball" gigs. We loved giving lighthouse tours in Oregon and Michigan.

We are 63 I think. It is hard to remember when you feel like 30 something!

We Winter in warm weather for 5 or 6 months...travel for 2 months and spend the Summer in the East. Best of all worlds...and even better when the house sells as we will be full-time.

Mary Ann :P

We're married, I'm 39 and he's 49 (couldn't reply to the survey because there wasn't a 40-50 age group). My husband is retired and I will work periodically while on the road.

We plan to start RVing in a mobile RV fulltime as soon as we sell our real estate and buy a motorcoach. Our current RV is a Park Model set up in a recreational resort (www.adventures-unlimited.net). We have been inspired to start full-timing by so many great people we met at this resort who full-time RV.

I put in "married 50-60" because the average age of my wife and myself is 51. I'm in my 40s, she's in her 50s.

Unless I read the survey wrong, there's no place to vote if you're in your 40s. But I coulda read it wrong. ;)

I've spent most of the last decade working online but am not as active with that as I had been. My wife is still working, more in the "corporate world" and will probably hang in there a few more years.

A hurricane started our fulltiming rather abruptly and without planning. And we're still fulltiming. I like it better than she does but so far, we haven't found anywhere we want to call "home" well enough to put down roots. Time will tell. In the meantime, here we are.

It is now fixed. That is the problem with those of us like Richfaa & I. We tend to forget, and overlook things!

If you have not done so, please do go back and insert your numbers in the poll!

We're 64 this year and met each other while still in high school. Been married nearly 45 years since the Viet Nam war made earlier rather than later seem a good idea. Been full-timing 3 years come June. Now in our third RV during that time and have visited all the lower 48 states except Arkansas. What can I say? I like change--except when it comes to husbands. :)

What have you got against Arkansas?

We have made several trips to states which were missing on our map, just so we could add them. Nebraska comes to mind! OBTW, 68 and 65, Retired since I was 55! :)

Nothing except now we'll have to make a special trip east to see Arkansas if we are ever going to finish filling in our map. :) Somehow we managed to wander all around it without ever actually going through it. And there's some stuff there that should be worth the trip so I imagine we'll go someday.

I'm 49 & George is 52. We will be married 7yrs this December. I'm retired as of 2006, and he will be by the end of August this year. Although we have only minimal camping of any kind under our belts - from car camping with friends as kids, to fancy horse trailers during his rodeo days thats about it. This will be our first RV & we determined that its the best way to fulfill our dreams of traveling as much as we can while we still feel young enough & in good enough health to do so & leave the huge bills & maintenance costs of home ownership behind. We do have an exit plan, of course, that would allow us to again land safely at a small stix & brix or condo but hope not to have to worry about that for many years to come.

We're currently in the process of liquidating everything except family heirlooms which are going into a small storage unit, getting ready for the auction company to come in next week & take every single item down to the last paperclip hidden behind some piece of furniture..lol .. and sell this house. We plan on hitting the road, doing some small shakedown runs by September of this year, get ourselves to a proper driving school, then find our way to Quartzite to see what all the fuss is about

We're looking very forward to meeting & enjoying the company of all of you who share this lifestyle.

Thanks for asking!

I am almost 49 (few days away), my sweet dog is 14.5, and the mischievous young one is 9 years and 8 months old. We just starting fulltiming - this is our great adventure across the US so my son can see how wonderful this world is - and hopefully open his eyes to different ways of living and being happy. We lived the last 7 years in LA (under protest) and are thrilled to be traveling in our little trailer.
